Short femur

I had my 20 week ultrasound today and everything measured fine except the femurs measured like a week and a half behind. The dr wasnt concerned but when i googled it i read about Down syndrome. Ive had the nipt that came back normal but i cant help and worry. Has this happened to anyone and baby was fine

Sorry to hear you got some news that is causing worry. I found this article which is related. Sounds like if there are no other markers and you have an otherwise normal follow up, you may just have a small baby.

When my mom was pregnant with me and my siblings we showed up with short femurs on the ultrasound which alarmed her doctors at the time but everything else was measuring normal. We definitely all turned out on the shorter side (I'm 5'2") but no other disorders/issues otherwise (at least related to our femurs ). Fast forward a couple of decades and my SIL had the same issue with her ultrasounds. Again, short kids but all five of hers are healthy.

In our appointments, both this pregnancy and last, the techs haven't been perfect about measuring. At this size, a few millimeters can change the estimated date by a lot. If the doc were concerned, he or she would have ordered more measurements. Dollars to donuts, all is fine!
