Might not be around much this week. Boss is coming back from an international vacation and probably will be sending me a zillion emails soon. And I've got six product release uploads to complete that range anywhere from 10 to 300 items per release
@hestia14 that doesn't sound like a lot of work at all LOL! YIKES! My boss is attending a conference with most of the company this week, so I'm chilling at home "working".. laundry, cleaning and catching up on my shows.
I'm getting slightly jealous of my friends in Washington state, Kansas, Massachusetts, and New York for having snow days. I live in ALASKA and we have not had a single snow day!!! Oh well. At least we get out of school about a week before Memorial Day
@hestia14 Hang in there, my friend! /danish /hotdrinkofchoice
March is here and the spring cleaning bug has bit me. I cannot stand the state of my house atm. I'm pondering my PTO and wondering if it's worth it to take some now while I'm not too big to clean my house... But just took a babymoon, and taking off some days to be with my mom when she visits. Wondering how much my boss will let me slack off.
So mad🙄 Just drove 40 minutes for an appointment to my daughter's eye specialist. Only to be told they don't accept our new insurance and they wouldn't take us. I was so humiliated. Also running on low sleep since two of our neighbors felt the need to snowblow their driveways at 4:30 am. I just want to go to bed and start the day over😪
I’m just waiting for these abnormally cold temperatures to stop so I don’t have to wear my winter jacket anymore. It’s so tight when I zip it up right now, but nothing else fits that’s warm enough for single digits and below zero temps.
@key33 Me Too!! I thought i'd be ok, but it's still negative degrees and i have to wear my down coat and it's barely fitting! I'm just asking for some 30 degrees so i can wear a jacket vs my down. My zipper is going to break soon i swear.
@indulgentgypsy We never get snow days here either... (Winnipeg Canada). The rural schools close but businesses or city schools never do. Life has to go on as normal when you have brutal winters 5 months of the year!
@kingdommom Ugh, that sounds awful, I am so so so so sorry! @key33@blackhottamales So there on my winter coat starting to not fit. I am NOT buying a new one, I will drape a blanket over me and stuff hand warmers in my pants and just look ridiculous if it comes to that.
Agree about being tired of the snow and cold! i had my US today and just like with my first pregnancy, baby wasn’t too cooperative so they couldn’t see the sex. I’ll have to go back for some more views of the heart so hopefully they can tell me then!
So my husband just looked into the insurance thing. We had just applied for CHIP for both girls. We thought it was a good idea because it is cheaper than adding them to the insurance he gets through work. Apparently the kind we were eligible for doesn't cover specialists🙄 I guess my husband makes "too much" which I guess is a good problem! So now we have to decide whether we just put her back on our insurance or if she can just start seeing a regular eye dr (she's been going to the specialist since she was 19 months and she's 4 years old now). Anyway, sorry to be spilling all this. I know it will all work out, but my hormones are on overload today also and everything is making me want to cry😭 Thankful my husband is taking the girls out to play in the snow and I can get a few minutes alone!
We are trying to remodel a bathroom, and were referred to this interior designer who we invited over for a consult. She canceled and rescheduled a million times, but finally made it to our place back in January and we discussed what we wanted for about 30 min. She did about 95% of the talking and rubbed me the wrong way, but that's beside the point. She mentioned in passing, "I'm not going to charge you for this consult because it hasn't been long enough." And surprisingly she never presented us with any kind of contract or info on how she bills her services or how she works. Only told us she would come back with an estimate within a few days. Several WEEKS later we finally got the estimate, and it was very vague and didn't include ANY materials (we were to provide our own fixtures etc). So we thanked her for her time and told her we were going to get another estimate from someone else. She wished us luck and we thought that was the end of it.
Fast forward to today, I get the mail, and there's a handwritten note card addressed to "Mrs. *Husband's First+Last Name*" (which is not my name!) inside listing charges for her consult, charges for her contractor's estimate, etc. What in the world. Part of me wants to call her and explain why we aren't going with her and why I'll never refer her to friends or family. But the other part of me has decided to just ignore the situation and throw the card in the trash. What in the world. What is she going to do - bring us to small claims court? There was no contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@cbeanz. That’s annoying. We did our bathroom two years ago and it was definitely hard. I don’t envy anyone trying to do work here in Denver now. Contractors were hard to come by then, they are WAY worse now. I’m glad we did the work when we did. But it was sure hard dealing with schedules and getting things rolling and keeping it moving. Poor things had a client from hell at the same time as my project. The person set up cameras and would call them screaming if someone set foot on their grass! Like within minutes. All that to say, I feel you! Good luck on dealing with it.
@key33 +1 for the coat! I can only snap it closed now. The zipper is too uncomfortable on my big coat. We just stayed in yesterday when it was 9° out. I was not about to go out in that. Hubby is sick and so was I over the weekend so I don’t know what to do about shoveling the sidewalk right now. I guess I’ll need to get out there before it gets dark today and power through it.
@kingdommom that sucks--it's like insurances gets you one way or another. plus it is embarrassing--i've been there. I'm glad YH is giving you some alone time.
@cbeanz wow--i've never been charged for an estimate. That's crazy--we had a hell of a time find our contractors, so i feel you. If you still have the envelope, you could put it back and tape it up and say return to sender no such person at this address. In any event, i would call or email letting her know you will not be paying for the estimate. I've help many small businesses in the past and it's important to tell them sooner than later that you will not be paying.
Update on my follow up with MFM for repeat ultrasound to check for abdominal problems.
Everything was PERFECT. The MFM/high-risk pregnancy doctor was so awesome. He really set our mind at ease. Let us know that everything was perfect. We even got to zoom in on her heart and watch the valves open and close. It was so cool. And we had two more confirmations that it is definitely a little girl! Haha. She was moving and grooving in there today! Way more than last week when she was chilling for the whole appointment. She was having a grand old time tucking and kicking and punching. It was so cool to watch her squirming around. So it just ended up being a few extra pictures of baby. Yay!
I wish I had the option to stay inside away from the weather this week. But I have to take the kids to and from school and have no choice. It's looking like this will be our last really cold week, hopefully!
Monday confession: I turned on the Fireplace for Your Home video on Netflix because I need something cozy in my life. It’s going to warm up later this week, but it’s cold now!!
I was just reviewing the written results from my 20w scan and I am kind of shocked to find I have an anterior placenta. Esp because I've been feeling very definite movements since 15 or 16 weeks. I assumed I had an anterior placenta with DS because I did not feel anything until truly noticeable almost 24 weeks, so this is just weird. I hope I don't end up with a baby who won't move down again.
I did my second trimester screening blood draw on 2/11 and still haven't gotten my results yet, not sure if they'll tell me tomorrow at my AS or they got lost in the mail.. going to email my doctor and find out. The first trimester results came within two weeks.. I hate waiting for things LOL!
Whoever (and there were a bunch of people that told me this, not necessarily on this board) said that second trimester is the best because the nausea is better and you’re not super-uncomfortable yet can go away.
Currently on the way to the hospital my OB works out of’s triage unit thing to get some monitoring done due to variable and unexplained abdominal pain. It’s PROBABLY musculoskeletal, but it’s scaring me, and I’m getting on a plane Thursday and I cannot deal with the extra bit of anxiety.
@cbeanz, if she has nothing in writing, I would just ignore it completely. Most decorators don't charge for the initial consult, and should provide something in writing if they do. And the name thing would infuriate me too. We had a contractor come out to give us a roofing estimate. He came out 3-4 times to measure, meet with our insurance claims adjustor, etc. I was the only one he ever met with. When it came time to sign the contract, he brought it to my house and said "don't rush, whenever your husband has time to review and sign, is good"....like excuse me? Am I an extension of my pants-wearing husband? I almost told him to pound sand right there.
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21
So seems to have been a multitude of factors, but the big one being between pregnancy and URI/cold fluid issues, I was SUPER dehydrated. Got a full liter of IV fluids and while the abdominal pain wasn’t gone at baseline or when I coughed, it was markedly better, especially in the latter situation.
Also think contributing factor was as a FTM I didn’t realize there’d be such a sudden increase in abdominal discomfort/muscle pain and/or that it’d hit this early, but in the middle of this sick mess, I appear to have “popped” as well, since a shirt of DH’s I could hide bump in as recently as 1-2 weeks ago, I can’t anymore, so muscles probably trying to catch up.
Lab work was okay, slightly elevated liver enzymes, but apparently OB was aware of those when they contacted her.
Finally, LO’s heartbeat was findable IMMEDIATELY and a solid 141 or 147 (can’t remember, but solid regardless).
Overall, a little scary, but all seems to be okay. 🤞🏻 this is my only trip there until it’s go time...
I seem to have caught a head cold, at least I hope that’s all it is!! We’re so close to the end of cold and flu season, I almost escaped! Hoping some medicine, tea and early bed time will help!
This baby moves so much more than my first two, and i thought they were pretty active! I’m 21+3, it’s way too early to feel feet in my ribs, right!? I’ve felt like every now and then for the past week, something is jabbed right under my ribs, but I don’t remember this feeling until closer to the 3rd trimester with my others
@nolemomma1 Yuck! Is it bad my first thought was well at least I didn’t give it to her?!
While you didn’t quite escape cold/flu season unscathed, at least you made it far enough into your pregnancy a lot of the drugs not okay in trimester 1 are okay now (oh hey, Sudafed)...
@greeneyedgirl12 hahaha! Thank you for not sharing your germs with us! In my previous BMB, we use to joke that the babies passed sicknesses through the Internet because it seemed like if one had something, others would follow lol.
Im super thankful I can’t take a few more things now! I don’t have a fever, just feeling super achey, more than just typical pregnancy stuff, and my sinuses are all out of whack. It doesn’t help that it was 80 on Sunday, in the 50s today and tomorrow, and back to the 80s this weekend!
@greeneyedgirl12 glad your made out ok at L&D. Hope you feel better soon! Also don't mean to alarm you, but have you been itchy at all? I only ask because of the elevated liver enzymes combined with abdominal pain (was it RUQ... right upper quandrant? or just normal tummy?). If you're itchy at all you may want to ask about being tested for ICP. I've had it with all of my pregnancies so am hyper aware. Like I said, don't mean to cause panic and hopefully you aren't itchy with nothing to worry about at all!
@greeneyedgirl12 always better to get checked when something unexplained happens like that! Im relieved you’re alright! I’m a STM and I was in L&D yesterday because I was having intense pains which felt just like contractions. Turns out it was a UTI which was irritating my uterus causing Braxton Hicks that we’re particularly painful. I felt kind of silly but my midwife said an untreated UTI can cause preterm labour so she was happy I came in to be checked and encouraged me not to hesitate to call again if anything else happened.
@ccmama3 No it was the whole upper half of my abdomen (plus RLP, but I knew what that was). Seems to have been a combo of being REALLY almost dangerously dehydrated and the muscles being double angry between the work from coughing for going on 8 days (haven’t killed DH yet, but I told him the next time he even thinks he might be getting sick, please go to the guest room) and moving around due to pregnancy.
@mrscammack Yeah I felt sort of dumb, but I’m wondering if the dehydration didn’t cause some BH or at least extra-tight muscles because as soon as I got rehydrated, coughing hurt less.
Unrelated: Anyone else’s stomach really uneven in varying ways now that most of us have popped? Sat down to pee this morning and the right side of my stomach looked normal, but my left side had a pretty solid indent. Soft to the touch/not worrisome at all, but sort of funny, especially since low and left is where LO has been hanging out...
@greeneyedgirl12 With M, he loved to hang out on my right side so that I was constantly lopsided, you can see below at me around 7-8mo. Not so much with this kid yet, but I figure as he gets bigger.
Today is my birthday! I've come of age officially, in hobbit terms. DH is taking me to fondue tonight.

@Cbeanz I've also never been charged for a consult, so... yeah, weird. We redid our bathroom right before getting preggers with M. Such a damn pain.
@pizzaplz I love movie fireplaces!

@hakele I'm soo glad you got good news from the MFM! ❤️
@greeneyedgirl12 I hope everything is OK! Keep us updated! ❤️
, 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@nopegoat glad to see you back! Fingers are crossed for you that things stay working!
@ameliabedelia-2 I like to use the excuse I have to talk to my husband when we get door to door sales men. But that sucks.
Back to baby sitting again this week.
