Re: Group 4 (June 23-30) Check-in, w/o 2/10

  • Due date/W+D:  June 27 / 20w, 4d

Baby is the size of a(n): microphone

Any appointments? Questions?: No appointments until the end of the month.

Rants/Raves?:  Rave! We just found out we're having a baby girl!! My friend threw us a gender reveal party and made the most awesome cake (pic in the gender/sex announcement thread). We are over the moon excited!

How are you feeling?: Feeling great, though easily tired. I stayed up until midnight Saturday night and was dead to the world all day Sunday.

GTKY - Do you have a favorite movie? Is there a movie you're excited to introduce to your LO? Oscar! It was my favorite as a child and is still one of my favorites today.

  • Due date/W+D:

    6/25 (20+6)...21 weeks tomorrow

Baby is the size of a:

    banana, at the moment...

    Any appointments? Questions?:

Ugh. I have an appt this week to discuss results of AS and I'm waiting for an appt with a perinatal specialist to a do a more in-depth scan. I have a 2 vessel umbilical cord (instead of 3) and am now being monitored/re-checked and all the scary stuff. (Though a 2 vessel cord isn't "too uncommon" per my doc, it's still a red flag. Google has been my arch enemy and I have now sworn it off. I've been upping my meditation game to counteract the anxiety.)

    Rants/Raves?:

I have been in a fog of worry and then worrying about worrying ("Is this even worse for baby??") these past few days. Each day has gotten a little easier, and today I am leaning toward letting go...letting God...and remembering that I'm not alone in this. None of us are <3

    How are you feeling?:

At the moment I feel calm. I put a picture of a beautiful healthy baby girl on my vision board and have been doing affirmations because I'm trying to build all of the hope and Holy magic I can muster. (We found out we're having a girl, which I'm over the moon about.) BTW @holyboobsbatman congrats on having a girl too!! I saw that cake in the reveal thread - SOOO cute!

GTKY - Do you have a favorite movie? Is there a movie you're excited to introduce to your LO?

Favorite movies are all over the board, but I've always loved Big Fish.

As far as a movie to introduce to the LO - I can't wait to show her Goonies, Hocus Pocus, Inside Out, the Lion King...SO many! All of these shaped my childhood (except Inside Out is somewhat new) and I sure hope she likes them too.

  • Lurking from group 2.... @raemy12345 wonderful movie choices, and seriously all this worrying... we are moving right now and I just keep worrying, is this box too heavy, am I doing too much, how guilty should I feel about this McDonald’s breakfast sandwich and small coffee 😬 love you’re point, and I know we need to trust our bodies too, women have been giving birth forever and we are lucky enough to have some incredible medical care available, trying to trust that all will be well

  • We’re also in the process of moving @honeybeemarie and my partner works away so it’s just me. I’m probably going to buy a staircase trolley so I can move boxes around on my own or just pack them where I’m going to leave them until the removalists get here. It might be messy but at least it’ll save my back. I think people worry too much about the exercise we do when pregnant - as long as you’re not going to extremes and doing drastically new things you’ll be fine. I’m gauging by how much I need to strain - if I have to strain excessively to the point I’m not able to do the task whilst breathing normally then I just leave it.

  • Due date/W+D: 06/26, 21w

Baby is the size of a(n): Banana/endive

Any appointments? Questions?: My next appointment is a week from tomorrow. Last week I was worried that I was gaining too much weight/getting too big too soon, but now I’m worried I’m not gaining enough. I weighed myself this morning and haven’t gained anything in 3 weeks, with only gaining about 6-7 pounds total so far.

I had a dentist appointment yesterday that was terrific. My gums have been bleeding and inflamed, and my dentist said it was totally normal, so to just keep brushing and flossing like I have been. I will probably switch to some kids toothpaste because mint still makes me gag.

Rants/Raves?: I went to a mom stuff swap last night and came home with a bunch of baby things (pop-up stroller, a car seat—not expired, no accidents—and 3 bases, a crib mattress, and some clothes for me), plus I’ll be getting some baby things from a friend tonight, so I’m just feeling very blessed by our friends.

How are you feeling?: Really good—still worried about everything (not gaining weight, days where the baby doesn’t move as much), but loving the days when our baby girl is moving around a lot like she has been today. 😍

GTKY - Do you have a favorite movie? Is there a movie you're excited to introduce to your LO? This is a really tough one—I think the Harry Potter series, both the books and movies.

  • @wiseh I’m so sorry you are mostly doing the move alone, I can’t even imagine the stress you must be feeling. You’ve got a solid plan and I hope you get all the support you need!!

  • Due date/W+D: 06/27 ( 22wks - measured ahead at my AS keeping my due date)

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut!

Any appointments? Questions?: Had my AS on 2/4 and found out we’re having a baby boy!! Had a fetal EKG during the AS and heart looks good - I had heart complications upon birth so we made the appointment as a precaution. Luckily we had a consult with the dr. immediately following the scan and she confirmed all is well. No abnormalities with baby boys heart! She also let me know I was measuring a week ahead - so I’ve changed my bump app so that I can keep up with the baby’s size , although dr. Hasn’t said anything about changing my due date

Rants/Raves?: i have a daughter right now so I am contimplating selling her clothes online or trying to find a mama who wants to swap clothes/bouncer/bumbo I kept which are all pink and purple! And I mean I have bins and bins of clothes!! Who know! In the mean time I’ve done some shopping!! That’s been fun!

How are you feeling?: Overall very good! However I’ve really been down playing the hip pain/siatic pain I’ve been experiencing. Sometimes it’s hard to walk or sit in certain positions :( - part of me thinks it’s just a prego ailment and I need to keep on going, the other part realizes I may need to get a professional to massage and show me some stretches.

GTKY - Do you have a favorite movie? Is there a movie you're excited to introduce to your LO? Our DD is 2.5 and we were sooo excited to introduce her to the Lion king and she really had no interest LOL same with Pocahauntus ! My favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice 😍😍😍

  • Congrats on the EKG results for your baby boy @briweekly!

We have 2 daughters, so if this baby is a boy, I've already made plans to pass on our girl clothes to a friend that's having her 1st girl. Most of our equipment is gender neutral, so we won't have to worry about trading that out, thankfully. Shopping for baby stuff is always fun, though!

  • Due date/W+D:  June 23rd - 21w5d

Baby is the size of a(n): Endive

Any appointments? Questions?: Just a normal checkup next week. We had our AS Wednesday and in one of the sonograms her legs look SO SO long!

Rants/Raves?:  Raves! We found out Wednesday we are having a healthy baby girl and we are very excited. Truly thought she was a boy so it was quite a surprise. No gender disappointment thankfully; I just hope we eventually have a boy. Husband is going to be putty in her hands for now though.

How are you feeling?: I feel big. People have started noticing my bump, which is a weird feeling. I’m scared to see how much I’ve gained because I feel so big, especially in the last week and a half, and we are just over half way! My last appointment 3 weeks ago showed I only gained 3lbs from my prepregnancy weight but the doctor didn’t say anything about it, so I guess I’m fine? The ultrasound technician told me I was “feeding her well” so 🤷‍♀️.

GTKY - Do you have a favorite movie? Is there a movie you're excited to introduce to your LO? I am SO excited to introduce her to Harry Potter. I’ve added the illustrated books to our registry and I can’t wait to eventually watch the movies with her. Another favorite is National Treasure, which I hope she will eventually enjoy.

  • Thanks @honeybeemarie! My partner did HEAPS when he was home last rnr so I’ve only got the last few boxes to pack up which isn’t too overwhelming. My real estate has already organised the vacate clean and carpet clean, so I don’t need to do anything in that regard.

  • @kdcatmom, I’m with you on feeling big! I haven’t gained that much weight, but I have definitely popped now and people are noticing!

We’re also hoping to introduce our girl to Harry Potter! We were thinking of putting the illustrated books to our registry, but want to wait until the rest come out to order them.
