LOL no. I still have 26482 years to go until my first appointment.
Cravings/Symptoms?
No cravings, although I had tacos twice this week. I could do that even not pregnant, though 😉
My symptoms are coming and going, which is probably normal but still terrifying. When I do have symptoms I've had: insomnia, peeing 1536 times per day, heartburn, boob soreness, and cramps.
Rants/Raves/Randoms?
Rant: winter can suck it!

GTKY: what is your dream vacation destination?
I'm going to cheat and say.... around the world. My college alumni association does a 6 month "trip around the world" that I'd love to do someday. It stops on every continent (including Antarctica!) and is just my absolute ultimate dream. It hits all the highlights: overwater bungalows in French Polynesia, ice caves in the Arctic, African safaris, etc etc. I love to travel, and I want to see the whole world!!
What's going on this week? Nothing much. Baby is the size of poppy seed/speck of glitter... which is so weird. A speck of glitter seems so small, poppy seed seems bigger.
How far along are you? LMP is 4+5, O is 4+3
Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope, not until 2/28 so three more weeks!
Cravings/Symptoms? On-and-off heartburn, peeing, small cramps... being able to smell all the things at work! The only constant has been the boob tenderness.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Time is going fast and slow at the same time. So excited to be farther along so I can tell people, go to my appointment, feel the baby kick, etc. But I'm trying to enjoy the time anyways.

GTKY: what is your dream vacation destination? After DH and I got married, we wanted to go on a trip to Jamaica, just to relax. I would also like to travel all over Europe.

Anyone have an appointment this week? Noooooo. Feb 25th, unless I can bully them in to fitting me in earlier.
Cravings/Symptoms? No symptoms yet, but I think it's a little early yet to be feeling ill.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Rant--This is silly, but my neighbor organizes a progressive dinner every year for our block. Several houses team up and do an app house, main course house and dessert house all centered around a theme. This year I happen to be on a team with the organizer and WHOA!, she is intense when it comes to this dinner. I kind of hate her right now.

GTKY: what is your dream vacation destination? I have always wanted to go to Chile--Patagonia + Chilean wine country...would be incredible!! BUT put me on any tropical beach and I'm totally happy. @galentine You HAVE to do that around the world trip.
@galentine an African safari has been on my bucket list for years. My H is not as enthusiastic about it so not sure it'll ever happen. I'm not sure he's appreciate a 10K "girls" trip lol

Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope but finally have one Monday. I'm pretty sure I've just wished this whole week away.
Cravings/Symptoms? Fairly mild symptoms, mild cramps on and off, sore/tingly boobs fairly consistently, super tired and ALL THE PEEING!
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Rant: I need to figure out how to survive between appointments. I've literally been living on the bump - not great for productivity.

GTKY: what is your dream vacation destination? Definitely somewhere in Africa.
@lillywonderland I did an African Safari when I was 18, and it was amazing! Go do it!
@stephanie123456 A speck of glitter?! That sounds crazy and beautiful! I’m really working on enjoying the present moment as well, but I’m kind of awful at it. 😂

@cdnrunning Learning to survive between appointments should be a self-help book. It would be a bestseller.

Anyone have an appointment this week? Yes! I just got out of one and ohmygodyouguys I saw the heartbeat!! Measuring on track, and I have a follow up ultrasound next week on Valentine’s Day. ❤️
Cravings/Symptoms? I’m not a sweets person, but I am craving cupcakes, cake, frosting, you name it. I’ve been good at resisting temptation, but I may treat myself after next week’s appointment.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I’m just so happy I got to see my peanut today and everything is right where it should be. I’m so greatful.

@junebabyh, Chilean wine country sounds amazing! The progressive dinner sounds fun, but I can see how someone who organizes that might be over the top! Hope you can still enjoy the dinner!

@elle-0409!!!!!!! I am so excited you strong-armed your doc into giving you a peek at your baby factory with the dildo-cam!!!!!! And even more excited you got to see a wee healthy babe measuring right on track with a heartbeat!!!!!!! I am so happy for you! (Also, I'm not crying, you're crying!)
@stephanie123456 Jamaica is great, we really loved the resort we stayed at last year if you're looking for recommendations

@elle-0409 AHH THAT'S AMAZING, congrats on hearing the heartbeat for the first time. Man my appointment is so far away.
What's going on this week? nothing new, just work being CRAZY still. I can't believe I got pregnant on my most stressful work month in a long time. I'm celebrating getting to go home "early" at 7 tonight.
How far along are you? 5 weeks and 2-4 days

Cravings/Symptoms? nothing really yet, but my boobs did get tender for a moment yesterday
Rants/Raves/Randoms? nothing really, I love stalking all boards on the Bump but I feel like that's nothing special.
Questions? What happens at the first appointment at 8+ weeks? Someone mentioned that we wouldn't get an ultrasound, but do you for sure get to hear the heartbeat?
GTKY: what is your dream vacation destination? I really wanted to go to South America or Alaska before we started TTGP, but the baby bug hit me. They're still on my list though

I am especially excited for 18 weeks, when baby is approximately the size of a side of guacamole!! 🥑
@stephanie123456 I did a Master’s program in the UK since I didn’t have time during undergrad to study abroad...it was very expensive, but oh so worth it!
@galentine My sides of guacamole are quite large...😳 BAHAHAHAHA!
@marbellie Depends on your OB - most do a dating U/S (with the infamous dildo cam), but there are some that don’t do an U/S until the anatomy scan (~20 wks). I don’t think baby’s heartbeat is too easy to find at 8wks with a doppler (since baby is still so tiny). I second what @stephanie123456 said and call your OB and ask them if they do a dating U/S at your first OB appt.

Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope
Cravings/Symptoms? So have sore boobs. I started applying stretch mark cream because they are getting bigger (I'm normally flat chested so this is nice!), Also mild nausea when I'm hungry, food adversions, Indigestion, and fatigue. I also am getting more emotional. Ugh.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm finally starting to feel more pregnant. Which it kinda nice, but also annoying to have all the worst symptoms starting at the same time. Hopefully they don't all get worse.
Questions? Was anyone here high risk or know they will be? I have a few medical issues that I could easily be high risk if I wanted to see a specialist. I have heard that you get more monitoring and ultra sounds w/ high risk. Is that true? Not that I want more of the dildo cam but you know...
GTKY: what is your dream vacation destination? DH and I travelled a lot the last few years so a lot of places got knocked off the list. Probably Machu picchu, Vietnam, Switzerland, or Patagonia

I SO wanted to tell my mom this weekend because I went with her and DS to visit my grandmother (who lives in an Alzheimer's care facility). She knew we were TTC and I saw her the night before my BFP and we had been talking about it... so naturally she asked me when we were chit-chatting and I felt so bad lying to her. Part of me wants the support because it's hard having no one else IRL know (other than DH) but I also really want to do an announcement for her and my ILs after our first ultrasound (with DS wearing a "best brother" shirt and holding the ultrasound photo).

@galentine @stephanie123456 I don’t know how you’re not telling them! I would be going crazy. I got my BFP on Saturday evening and the next morning text all the women in my (immediate) family!
@marbellie I’ve had stuff saved in my carts for like 2 years! And I just keep adding. It’s a real problem! 😂
@elle-0409 we ended up putting on offer in on a different house haha we loved it, but it was out of our price range, however the seller agent told our agent they were very motivated! The house was listed at $640k. We offered $625k and they pay 9k in closing costs and build us a fence up to 6k. Basically 30k or less than 5% in concessions They countered Saturday and said $633k, no concessions. So a 1% decrease ... Uhhhhh that doesn't sound very motivated to me 😂 we declined and stood strong in our offer. We're hoping we hear back! We'll see... We love the house, but we just can't afford what they're asking.
TLDR - Yes, we put in our offer for 5% below asking and they countered with a 1% decrease. We declined the counter
