@moon1417 - Sorry to hear These crazy weather patterns are keeping us bogged down, too. Hope it turns around for you soon!
I got a fllippin' juror notice in the mail this weekend. I have to report ON MY BIRTHDAY. I have literally never worked (and sometimes skipped school) on my birthday, and these clowns want me to do my civic duty at that time? Any other time, but not that damn day. Ughhhhhhhhhhh.

I am so exhausted that my dark circles are showing through full coverage foundation and concealer. I am so tired. I took naps both days this weekend and am still on the struggle bus today. But I do have an appointment today so I can't wait to hear the baby's heartbeat.
@lilmamabebe3 - Awww, I'm sorry. In the last week or so, I've moved from concealer + foundation to just concealer under/around my eyes and just going into eye shadow and mascara. My circles have also darkened and it only adds to my feelings of being tired. Which appt is this for you? I just love hearing their little heartbeats

@MamaK225 this is my 12 week appointment! The woman who did my ultrasound at 9 weeks didn't let us hear the heartbeat so it'll be my first time (fingers crossed, I am a little anxious at the moment). And to the makeup--I am debating just stopping anyway. I don't look great with it on anyway so why waste the time and energy. I am just so, so tired.
And also, another random--any time I leave the house my oldest says, "Oh! Is the baby coming?" It's gonna be a looooooong few months, ha!
@lilmamabebe3 - I didn't get to get a measured heartbeat - or hear it - until 11w6d. I saw the sound waves at the 8w appt with my OB, but the appt had focused more on the loss of one than doing much more than confirming an EDD with the surviving twin. Are you doing the NIPT pull or an NT scan at this appt - or did you already do that? That's so cute that the oldest is getting on board. Every time I mention "the baby," DD exclaims that SHE is the baby

Had a good appointment today. They tried to find Ava’s heartbeat on Doppler but couldn’t, which caused some mild panic for me. So I got a quick surprise ultrasound where I got to see her, thumping away! She was curled up and face-down. Everything looks good. They didn’t see if my previa had resolved itself yet; she said there hasn’t really been enough time between ultrasounds to check. So hopefully they’ll look at the anatomy scan.

Does anyone else have the bump mobile problem where you go into a thread and finish reading it and you hit the back button & it doesn’t work?? So annoying. It’s why I try to typically do my bumping on my computer.

@moon1417 yes! It's because it only takes you back a page. I find the app horrible anyway. But if you click at the bottom of the thread August 2019 Moms it should take you right back.
@MamaK225 oh yuck. Birthday jury duty sounds terrible. I've never done jury duty though and I think it would be interesting! I'm always on the other side of the bench.
@MamaK225 I hope you are able to get out of jury duty!!! @hey_clever_girl I’m so glad you had a good appointment! ❤️ @moon1417 Yes, the back button sucks. @agpandme I want my MIL to go by Meemaw! Instead she INSISTS on being called Mamaw, which sounds sooo much like “Mama” in toddler-speak...it drives me nutty. But Meemaw makes me think of Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory, so I love it.
@aecm my mother goes by MawMaw and when my 2 year old says it it sounds significantly different than when she says "mama." My dad is Pawpaw and Hs grandpa is Papa and they also sound entirely different when DD says them.
I love grandparent names. When I was pregnant with DD my parents decided they’d just be ol Grandma & Grandpa - but DD couldn’t say that for the longest time so they are Gaga and Bobo (what she started calling them) 😂 I freaking love it
My in laws are Grandma and Papa. FIL became Papa because SIL is his step daughter and did not find it appropriate for her kids to call him grandpa for some insane reason (FIL raised her and was more of a dad than her bio dad). He looks like he should be called Papa though and it just fits...so that is what my kids call him. And my kids LOVE Papa!
My bio mom and her DH are also Grandma and Papa...all men on that side go by Papa.
My parents are Nana and Grandpa. My mom was jealous that my kids would have two other grandmas so she wanted to be unique(eye roll), and my dad is content just sticking with the classics. It is pretty funny because my dad makes joking remarks about my mom's need for a unique name.

My parents wanted more unique names from grandma and grandpa. Fil made fun of them for it 🙄, but I don't blame them. For great grandparents (and one great great left) we don't say "great" in normal talking, so DS has 5 living "grandpas" and 7 living "grandmas". My parents and one set of grandparents picked new names so at least it's down to 3 grandpas and 5 grandmas now 😂

We found flights home for Christmas for under $600 CAD and I’m debating booking. I have never booked anything this early but if it goes up, I’ll kick myself.
My mom is Gammy but all other grandparents go by traditional grandma and grandpa. However, DD couldn’t say my BILs name and started calling him Baboo. It’s stuck and he’s uncle Baboo. She actually called him by the correct name a little while ago now that she is older and he corrected her to his nickname as he likes it so much.
I told my sister about the Meemaw thing and she was like "Are you okay with that?" Of course I am. Its their title, they can choose whatever they want to be called. I guess her DH mom wants the kids to call her something in her native language but she wants them to call her Grandma *name* just like the rest of the grandparents which is fine. Everyone has their personal preference. I was a little worried because my FIL said he wanted to be Papa D or just papa but my husband and I use Mama and Papa as terms for Mom and Dad so it would conflict. I suggested PEEPAW . We always used Grandma/pa *name* for our grandparents but as we grew older we shortened it to Gma/pa. It made them feel younger and hip lol.
Just caught a sight of myself in the mirror this morning and said "HOLY S**T*. I'm barely 12 weeks but I am bloated, I had to pee and I already am carrying a spare tire so I looked at least 5 months. Kind of shocked me.
@oklahomak, per person so $1200 total. Usually I’d risk it but for Christmas, we just decided to go for it. Direct flights from Europe to Canada for that price can’t go lower so I don’t feel bad.
@oklahomak, some! My parents and in laws will come to visit us here in the Netherlands. But that’ll be the first time the baby meets my siblings, cousins, great grandparents, and friends. I’m super excited! We’re also taking our dog so he will get to see all his friends as well. (😂 - yes he has his own pack of friends who miss him dearly)
My ILs were already Nana & Papa so there was never any issue with names. My stepmom and dad didn't really tell me what they wanted so I just went with how my stepmom signed a gift "Grandma *first name* and Granddad".
We had a fun trip to London last week, and with my vomiting under control, it was even better to be able to eat! But I came home with a sinus infection that's now lasted a week and I'm so over it.
Other random...I'm super excited, I signed up to go to this USO sponsored baby shower event hosted by the author of the What to Expect series. I've heard they're lots of fun and I'm looking forward to celebrating with other moms here.
I'm sure other moms here can relate, being far away from family kinda sucks when it comes to celebrating these babies. I had a tiny shower with acquaintances with my first, which was lovely and generous, but it would have been nice if I'd been "home" near my family/friends or ILs for a more traditional party that they all wanted to do. If that sounds selfish, please don't take it that way. I appreciated and loved what my friends did for me, truly. But we had family who even said they wanted to do a "virtual" shower and it didn't happen and it wouldn't have been the same. I don't want to open gifts via skype....I want to hang out and swap stories and play games!
Off-topic, but totally random: nothing makes you ass seem flatter than when you're starting to show a preggo belly I just caught sight of my rear from a side angle when exiting the restroom and I laughed so hard.

So on a local moms FB page today someone seriously asked what to do if they are 28 weeks, have had several days of decreased fetal movement, shortness of breath and severe pelvic pain. You definitely should ask a group of internet strangers instead of consulting your doctor ::head desk::

@Allycat11 Oh no, I hope everything is ok for that lady. I was just listening to something the other day about how poison control has seen a huge decline in calls because people don't like to talk on the phone anymore... they are starting a texting service.
Guys, I broke out the mat pants today (with a long shirt) and my bloat bump and I are so comfortable.
@zamora_spin, good for you! I wore my jeans that have been fitting ok and had to unbutton it halfway through class. It was just so uncomfortable sitting there with them.
I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow, and I'm in mat clothes half the time and my flowy work clothes the other half of the time. I finally told my boss last week, so at least I don't have to be anxious about folks seeing my belly poking out
My niece already calls my parents Momo and Poppy, and it totally fits them so my baby girl will, as well. I love how serious grandparents take what they'll be called!

Guys, I broke out the mat pants today (with a long shirt) and my bloat bump and I are so comfortable.
*Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*
I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow, and I'm in mat clothes half the time and my flowy work clothes the other half of the time. I finally told my boss last week, so at least I don't have to be anxious about folks seeing my belly poking out
My niece already calls my parents Momo and Poppy, and it totally fits them so my baby girl will, as well. I love how serious grandparents take what they'll be called!
