declan has decided to wean himself from formula and pretty much won’t drink it. So I just gave him a sippy of almond milk(we are all lactose intolerant and he was on gentle formula) and he chugged it. My other two kids were hard to get off bottles and formula and he has done it himself.
@megpeg i was literally coming on here to ask that.
How did you start the transition to cows (or whatever) milk?
And sippy cups. Ive tried probably 6 different types and a straw cup too none of which he will take a full feed from. He will play with it and take a few sips but he will start screaming for a bottle shortly after. Im lost lol
@sgrn18 today is the first day he had other milk. I am almost at the last of the container of formula and decided that’s the last one. My other 2 kids were a nightmare to take bottles away. They hated sippy cups. I think they had bottles at bedtime for another 6 months.
We are using green sprout glass sippy cup. The glass bottle is protected by plastic and the straw exchanges between straw and nipple. Sam is doing really well with it now, but it took about a month. I am still nursing, but we are doing half whole/half almond. Gag, I know, but she’s taking it and that’s a win. My other daughter never transitioned to whole milk. She nursed and had to have whole chocolate milk. Not the healthy option, but the girl would not take white milk and still doesn’t to this day. My boys transitioned to whole milk easily and still drink it to this day. Honestly, I hate this transition. Finding the right cup and milk mixture can be stressful.
