1.  How long have you been TTC?

2.  What is your diagnosis?

3.  What is your current Rx?

Re: TTC Check-in: 01/21/2019

  • @sincethelastday could you update my RX to TI w/ progesterone? Ty 😊

QOTW- I'm not sure I would. When I was younger, I would have. My name isn't super common but I had 2 more in school (1 same grade 1 a year or 2 older).

Sorry I was MIA last week. Started out with a flu like reaction to getting the shot. Then since I'd taken 2 days from work I had to play catch up and was still pretty run down. So today is CD6. Waiting until 12 to start OPK but probably won't O until 17-19. Just following Docs orders for now. I'm starting to get anxious for the progesterone. All that unexpected stuff (dripping, side effects, kinda stuff).

  • QOTW: If you could rename yourself, what name would you pick?
If I had to right now I'm not sure what I would pick. When I was younger I would have told you I wanted to go by the name Dakota.

@prpl11butterfly how often will you be doing the progesterone? I found the larger and more absorbent pantiliners worked great!

  • @inthewoods23 1 suppository daily from 3rd day after + OPK until 15days after (unless I get a BFP of course). I'm thinking to put it in before bed then I shouldn't have too much issue through the work day. What brand of liners did you use? I generally like the impossiblely thin Always but I suspected they wouldn't do the trick.
  • Thank you! I know everyone's IF journey and dx can be very different but I am so relieved to see that I am not alone! I wish everyone the best of luck. QOTW: I like my name, so I wouldn't rename myself unless I had too. TTC: 15 months, Dx: unexplained, Rx: letrozole+trigger+TI
    Me 35, DH 33
    Married 10/2016
    TTC since 11/2017
    dx: unexplained infertility
    SA, HSG, bloodwork all fine
    3 cycles clomid, 3 BFN
Sep 2018 -  referred to RE
Nov 2018 - ovarian cysts, no treatment
    Jan 2019 - letrozole+trigger shot+TI, BFN
Feb 2019 - hoping to continue treatment

  • @prpl11butterfly if you just have to do it once I definitely recommend at bedtime! I use the Always brand as well. I forget specifically what type they are, but they're in the purple box and they're the long type (they have extra long too). The suppositories would just soak through the thin ones and onto my underwear. Heavier pantiliner a will be your friend!

  • *Alexa, add Always purple box liners to my shopping list* lmao. Ty for the info! I'm going to stock up this weekend.
  • @prpl11butterfly ha! I guess they're just called Xtra Protection. I go with the long ones for sleeping. TMI... I'm always amazed at how far back stuff ends up on my pads... Both AF and the progesterone when it leaks out while I'm sleeping!

  • @inthewoods23 same! TMI.... I usually wear a cup but the other night my flow was too light for it to be comfortable so I just went with a pad. Luckily it wasn't bad but the potential for a disaster was there.
  • @inthewoods23 - how’s this second IUI going for you so far? Hope this is the one!!

@cigaline - did AF show up for you? Glad that you’re seeing a bit of a silver lining with the whole stomach medication bit with it not being good for pregnancy, but still sorry to hear that most likely AF is/was coming. Also sorry to hear about your friend’s pregnancy announcement. I haven’t been in a situation where a friend with IF has gotten pregnant, but I imagine I wouldn’t be as envious as with other announcements and more happy for that person. However, must still be tough and really hope you won’t have to imagine being pregnant for much longer!

@chiblackhawkie - how’s the TWW going? How you holding up?

@prpl11butterfly - will for sure update your RX next check-in! Sounds like @inthewoods23 has you covered with which liner brand to use (I’m making notes in case I’ll be in the same boat one day lol). Good luck with the progesterone and for this cycle!

@ChristenMA83 - been thinking of you A LOT! Really hope that your ultrasound on Friday went better than expected. Will continue to keep you in my thoughts!  <3<3

AFM: AF started today. Was one day “late” according to when AF started during the last two rounds of Letrozole, so of course I took a HPT. Actually...two HPTs *eye roll*. So now I’m just grumpy with cramps. Ugh.

QOTW: I always wanted to change my name to Daisy as a kid lol, but now I don’t know. I like my name, but would also be up to trying something new if I could.
  • @sincethelastday my first midcycle US is on Wednesday! Hoping we get the IUI right at the end of the month. If it's the same CD as the first IUI, it should be on the 30th. My fingers are crossed this time is it!

  • @sincethelastday Ugh, so frustrating! Sorry to hear you're back to the beginning.

As for me... me far so good! Trying my hardest to not symptom check, and in my head I know it's far too early, but I was definitely slightly cramping yesterday morning. I'm pretty sure I had similar cramps the last cycle though.. probably side effects.

@inthewoods23 Praying for good things to come from your US Wednesday, and you can go in the 30th for your IUI that will hopefully bring success.

QOTW: Anything not as common as my first name currently is haha. My husband and I definitely share that curse.. And won't pass it onto our kids.
  • Hello all!

My dx should be unexplained/MFI and rx: pending.

@sincethelastday: yes, AF came as expected on Sunday evening :-( that makes us nearly in sync! (Was that Monday eve for you? the time difference is a little confusing on here..) I really feel for you with the 1 day late excitement/frustration. Impossible not to go crazy during those few hours and so cruel when it comes after all. But I'm feeling really positive about this cycle  :-)

@inthewoods23 : really hope all goes well tomorrow and with the IUI.

@chiblackhawkie : hope you have lots of fun things to get you through the 2WW without too much symptom checking ;-)

@prpl11butterfly : hope you're feeling better now and back on track again...

AFM: currently on CD3 so just waiting for this cycle to get underway (and the appointment on the 6/2 too, but I should already be in the 2WW by then). I have actually changed my mind about the stomach medication (for better or worse, we'll see) and decided to change my diet instead! Additionally, I have given up caffeine for at least 2 weeks (last cup on Sat am) which has been hard and resulted in quite intense headaches over the past 2 days :-o. I always thought caffeine withdrawal was only for proper addicts (which I don't consider myself although I realise I do have over the 'recommended' amount for fertility and pregnancy) but obviously it's been affecting me more than I thought!

QOTW: When I was little I had a period of being obsessed with the musical Annie (I saw my aunt in an amateur production of it) and even went as far as signing my name Annie + my surname... I then moved on to Anna after the TV series Anna Ballerina, which stuck for quite some time. I really like my own name now, but Anna is still one of my favourites... a potential girl's name maybe??

  • @cigaline - technically AF showed up right on Monday morning, so I think that would make it Monday evening for you over in France? Yeah, the time difference makes it wonky to figure out, but we’re practically right at the same point in our cycles. Glad that you’re feeling optimistic this time around and surviving the caffeine-free break so far! Ugh, that sounds difficult though and I don’t even drink too too much caffeine!
  • @cigaline Wow, kudos to you for completely kicking caffeine!

I've been allowing myself a 10oz coffee a day (which in itself is hard), I can't imagine giving it up all together (though I'm sure if I ever get preggo, I'll switch to decaf).

Struggle has been real. I cramped mildly last night, and had to distract myself from thinking about it too much.
  • I have a midcycle update!

US was great this morning. The 1 follicle is already 25mm! So trigger tonight and IUI on Friday!! This cycle has gone so much faster than the first one and I'm so excited!

9 DPO. Feeling nauseated off and on the past day or so, but I'm also sure it's just the hormones talking. Trying to come up with things to do over the next few days to keep my mind off how my body feels.
  • My IUI went well 😀 they used an US to help guide the catheter since they had issues getting through my cervix the first time so I had no cramping and barely felt anything! Keeping my FX!

  • @chiblackhawkie - hope you have some nice distractions during this TWW! Totally been there with the symptom wondering.

@inthewoods23 - hope this is the one for you! Glad it went well and better with the actual procedure this time around!
  • @sincethelastday thanks for the thoughts.  Sorry I ghosted.  Trigger warning in spoiler
At last ultrasound we measured a week behind (6w1d instead of 7w1d) and no heartbeat.  We had a follow up ultrasound Tuesday that showed no additional growth and still no HB.  Diagnosed with another loss.  We have a D&C scheduled for Monday morning and we'll have the tissue tested to see if this was a chromosomal abnormality or if I need to go through additional testing to help explain the multiple losses.  We're coping pretty well, but I probably wont be around too much.  I'm going to focus on the new job and take a few mo ths off before we transfer our last embaby.

  • @ChristenMA83 - so, so sorry to hear this news! I can’t imagine what you and YH are feeling right now with this loss. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers and hope life in general treats you easy over these next few months. Take all the time you need!  <3  <3
  • @ChristenMA83 so so so sorry, I really hope the testing gives you some answers.

Sorry i disappeared, I was traveling for work and when I got back we all got the stomach flu, followed by *TW* my LO getting all four of his molars at once *end TW* work has also been bananas, but finally feeling caught up and semi back to our normal routines.

We didn’t do anything this cycle because I thought I would be gone during O, but we actually got some BD in right before I left and I O’d the next day....then AF showed up 3 days early. I didn’t get to the pharmacy in time to get letrozole for this cycle, so we are doing another non-medicated round this month too I guess. Just counting down the days to our RE visit.

  • @ChristenMA83 - So sorry for your loss. I'm praying for you, your SO and your angel ❤️

@PoeMasque - It does sound like you've been busy! Which hopefully makes your RE wait feel not as long. *TW*Aw! I bet that wasn't pleasant, for anyone, haha. How old is your LO? *end TW*

I... Was not good yesterday and had a bit too much to drink (always seems to happen when SIL is in town). Regretting it this morning and hoping I didn't eff anything up. At least it got my mind off the wait. AF is due Wednesday.
