Looking for future breast milk donations

Hello,

I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant and due in June and wanting more information on donating and receiving breast milk. I live in Charlotte, NC. I was also diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. I will have surgery to remove my thyroid either during the pregnancy but planning with doctors to wait until after the baby is born. There will be a time with the medications that I will not be able to nurse the baby and want to make sure they are getting all the food they need. I'm researching donation banks and wanted to express the need to any mom's out there that would be willing to donate.

Try to find a local Human Milk for Human Babies group. They might be able to connect you with a reliable donor. Idk what the requirements for receiving donations is, but I’ve donated to the CHKD milk bank in Virginia. They might have other resources as well.
