@zionsmama85 thanks for getting this started today. I only just got to work after my MFM appt.

    Due Date: 3/20

    Questions?: Nope.

Rants/Raves?: Finally had my appointment with the diabetes specialists. The consult was pretty much like any other doc appt, with a little more family history taken. Then a 1.5hr class talking about the food we can and can't eat, all during lunch when all us pregos are starving... I got my Rx for my supplies and dropped it off to the pharmacy to be picked up tomorrow. I feel like I can almost relax about it now. A busy, but productive day.

How are you feeling?: I think my daughter is trying to beat me up from the inside. Such violent movements!

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now? As a kid I read a lot of Dr. Suess. Now I like some of the less classic ones, like Giraffes Can't Dance and Rosie Revere the Engineer.

    Due Date: March 21

Questions?: Does anyone have a reduced appetite? I think mine is some what related to the severe heartburn. I was reading on earlier boards that some others have had a reduced appetite in the third tri. I've been following the idea of eating when I'm hungry but sometimes I end up skipping a meal.

Rants/Raves?: This isn't a rant or rave but rather feeling of anxiety. I am receiving regular care and my doctor hasn't expressed any concerns but I can't stop comparing myself to other women and am worried my bump is too small or that my baby isn't growing enough. I know every pregnancy and body is different; I just seem to have a lot of self doubt for some reason!

How are you feeling?: Mostly ok. The to-be-expected aches and pains have been hanging around: achy lower back and achy hips at night. The heartburn is killing me. I mostly stick to tums but will usually take a zantac at night before bed.

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now? Clifford the Big Red Dog series.

    Due Date: 3/17 (RCS Scheduled for 3/11 (!) )

    Questions?: none at the time

Rants/Raves?: neither really. life has been semi meh and thats ok. no news is good news

How are you feeling?:  i feel like my 1st trimester fatigue is back. i am constantly sleepy. just tired, and don't want to do much but sleep. It's getting hard trying to think of things to feed the kid bc i don't really have the urge to cook once i get home. we got snowed in this weekend and i slept all weekend. did ONE load of clothes. wasn't ready for the work week to start at all, and now i'm just thinking about my bed.

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now?

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs is one of my faves.

@karatepickles it seems like i am hungry more, but i haven't been eating as much when i eat, and have definitely been getting heartburn after i eat so it has made the process way less fun for me. If i do anything after eating or drinking that is not me sitting straight up, it feels like fire coming up.

@meggyme of course! i know between one of us it normally goes up. LOL

@karatepickles I have reduced appetite too. I think from running out of space in my belly. I've only gained maybe 5-10lb, which is about 10lb less than my first pregnancy, but it just seems like how it's meant to be this time! I also worry that this baby isn't getting enough, but generally believe that take from us what they need.

    Due Date: 3/19 re-dated to 3/28

    Questions?: Nope

Rants/Raves?: Rave and rant, DH went on a five-day fishing trip which was super annoying, but I'm glad to have him back and get back to co-parenting.

I also had some meet and greet appointments with some possible new providers, and those went well. If anything, I feel more confident in my current provider knowing that I explored all my options.

How are you feeling?: Trying to squeeze the last nesting juices out of my brain before the third trimester fatigue sets in.

Anyone else getting the feeling of pressure on their cervix like the baby is right there?

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now?
I Love You Forever makes me cry like a baby.

@meggyme I love “Giraffes Can’t dance!” Did you know the author has another book out?  I think it’s called, “Be brave, little penguin” and I like it just as much as the giraffe book.

    Due Date: 3/17

    Questions?: none atm!

Rants/Raves?: this week has been blah. I’ve been dealing with oral thrush from an antibiotic I took awhile ago. Finally caved and took the diflucan this week and it did absolutely nothing. Now I’m concerned with what I need to do to get rid of it after baby comes (mainly with mixing breastfeeding and taking a stronger dose). On top of that, I had a not so stellar dentist appointment today and have to have a root canal ASAP. Grr.

How are you feeling?: see above 😆

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now?

With two toddlers, I feel like I have so many! I love “pout pout fish,” “little blue truck,” “giraffes can’t dance,” “the gruffalo”. I know there are more but I can’t think of them right now!

@runninggal28 I thought antibiotics are what they treat thrush with! Or is that mastitis? And I’ll have to check out the new one.

@meggyme great news that you were able to meet with a specialist! Hopefully they’ll provide you with all the resources you need so you can settle into a manageable routine.

@karatepickles I def go long periods of time where I’m not hungry at all. But then when I force myself to eat a little something, it opens the door to wanting to eat everything in sight. I bounce between that and suddenly being super hungry out of nowhere. There’s not really a middle ground for me right now.

@zionsmama85 ditto on the fatigue! I make it through the weekends with morning workouts and afternoon naps. But long work days are super tough right now. I tap out after 12 hours but my trial requires more than that so the struggle is real.

@lindseyb918 great to hear your meet and greets went well! Makes me lean towards doing one with the pediatrician 2 friends recommended (related to question below).

@runninggal28 I’m sorry you’ve been having a rough week and hope you feel better soon!

    Due Date: 3/16

Questions?: None at the moment. Appreciate all the feedback on my last one, though!

Rants/Raves?: Raving that we’re less than 10 weeks way!

How are you feeling?: Haven’t taken any classes, read any books, or otherwise mentally prepared for labor, breastfeeding and other things I’m sure I have a lot to learn about. Not sure where to even begin. Will likely sign up for a CPR class and hospital tour, any other must do items I should have on my radar (lactation consultant, pediatrician meet/greet, etc.)? So I guess I did have a question haha

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now? Nothing specific stands out so love reading your suggestions.

    Due Date:  March 17

    Questions?: Nada

Rants/Raves?: Random rant, we had a structural engineer do an assessment of our house. We're thinking of adding on, but it's an old house and the original construction wasn't done particularly well in the first place, so we wanted to get an idea of if it's even worth it to sink a bunch more money into it. The good news is that there are some issues, but they're fairly mild and shouldn't be hard to fix. The really irritating news? The engineer found that two different contractors straight up didn't do aspects of the work that we paid them to do a couple years ago. And the more significant one passed county inspection, which means the inspector never even went into our crawl space! We're waiting for the formal report but MH is gearing up to put some heat on them to come back and do what they said they were going to do (and what was in our contract, and approved architectural drawings). If not we're taking them to small claims court. So that's fun. (but fortunately neither issue is causing immediate problems)

How are you feeling?: Not bad! My cold/sinus infection finally seems to be going away, thank goodness. I'm getting a little heartburn here and there but nothing bad. Other than that, I'm just tired. Being sick for three weeks really took me down.

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now? Favorites from when I was a kid were Goodnight Moon and The Giving Tree. I like Little Blue Truck and the Little Owl books, DS is a huge fan of those.

@gowenc that sounds like a nightmare to deal with. Sorry for that bad news!

@beachbaby0523 thank you! I will say, the scheduling/appointment people at the offices I called were all confused when I said I wanted to come in for a general consultation or a meet and greet. I had to explain I was exploring providers and still half the places I showed up to were still confused :s

In terms of classes, I just reposted in the breastfeeding products thread in regards to an online class breastfeeding I did with my first pregnancy. I felt it covered enough of the basics. Then worked with a lactation consultant in the hospital after delivering my son to really establish breastfeeding and troubleshoot any issues.

I would also do some prep in regards to labor and delivery. The class through your hospital will teach you when to come to the hospital, signs that labor has started, basic pain management, etc. I also like to listen to birth stories (I like the podcast The Birth Hour) to learn more about all the different avenues that birth can take, and help you decide what your preferences and expectations are going into it.

@gowenc I’m sorry you got bad news. I hope all your contractors cooperate with finishing the job they were already paid for.

    Due Date: 3/22

    Questions?: Not really.

Rants/Raves?: Rant:  I called my hospital to schedule a tour.  The coordinator apologized and explained that all tours for the next 4 weeks are cancelled due to a visitor ban because of the flu.  This also means no visitors in the maternity ward under 18 including siblings.  So, DD may not be allowed to visit in the hospital nor will get a tour.  The coordinator said last year the flu ban/visitor restrictions went through the 3rd week of March but it could be different this year.  It's a wait and see.

How are you feeling?: Feeling tired because I still don't sleep all that well.  And heartburn uugh.

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now?  I absolutely love The Pout Pout Fish to read to DD.  When I was really little I loved Pat the Bunny.

@karatepickles I definitely feel you! I think eating smaller meals more often might help, and trying to get high calorie foods in when you can. For the most part, baby will take what it needs, but you need to make sure you're building your maternal stores too so it doesn't completely deplete you!

    Due Date: 21 March

    Questions?: nope

Rants/Raves?: Work has been tough, and the next month feels like it's going to be a nightmare. I can't get on here much anymore because it's blocked on my work computer for those few minutes I do have a break, and then when I get home I really want to just be present with my husband and not be on a phone or computer. But I feel like I'm missing out, and can't keep up on all the threads when I do have free time! Husband is away this week so I have a little less guilt about more screen time.

How are you feeling?: I have diastasis recti, 4cm already, and it's really starting to feel painful. My doc thought it might be a hernia at first, so I guess I'm glad it's not that at least. Hoping a support belt will help, but can't believe I still have 9 or more weeks of growing!

GTKY: (copied week 1 and 2) What is your favorite children's book, either from when you were a child or one that you like to read to your kids now? I love the llama llama books, but I'm sure I will get sick of them quickly  :D I really loved to read anything and everything when I was little though.

@meggyme that’s mastitis. They give you an anti fungal for thrush.

@babycolima12 I love the llama llama books too! I don't find they get old, I love the cute little rhyming, sing songy books. For your DR, you might also look into using the KT tape to tape your ab muscles closed. If you google diastasis recti KT tape all sorts of stuff should pop up.

@RunningGal28 ah, that's why I was confused. Although, wiping out your natural biome can lead to all sorts of bacterial infections as well. That happened with my first. I had antibiotics for GBS and then had a slight infection and needed more antibiotics in the hospital afterward to keep it away.
