Re: For Friday 1/4/19
- What are you planning on doing this coming week? I'll be heading back to the Y and advising my CrossFit workouts for there. I'm hoping for 3-4 days
- How have you been doing with water intake/nutrition lately? I've been better in nutrition with all the Christmas cookies eaten ha, water has taken a bit of backseat since I'm back in the classroom and have less ease of access
- Based in last week, time seemed to be a common theme. What baby steps are you working on doing to take control of finding time to workout this week? I need to get better sleep because if I have time I prefer to daze out on the couch
- GTKY: Do you have a favorite workout clothing brand? If not, what is your go-to piece of clothing for a workout? When not pregnant I love 90 Degree by Reflex for leggings because they're inexpensive and good quality
I skied on Sunday with clients and then took two days off because my feet were so tired of being in boots. Since then, I’ve made it to the gym 3x - 2 weight lifting classes and 1 cardio day. Tomorrow is my last cardio day of the week and I’m hoping all goes to plan and I am able to make it there!
- What are you planning on doing this coming week?
Next week, school starts up again from winter break, DS is starting a new daycare, and DH will be at a trade show in Nashville. I’ll be working hard to get us into a routine in the evenings and try to get two weight training classes in and some cardio days with the kids at school during gym time. Thankfully, I will need to get the dog out for walks too so I will have a four-legged motivator tagging along.
- How have you been doing with water intake/nutrition lately?
Much better now that I’m off the slopes! I have already had two full water bottles today and meal prepped with some healthy veggies and pulled chicken in the instant pot! Feeling good for the weekend and beginning of this next hectic week!
- Based on last week, time seemed to be a common theme. What baby steps are you working on doing to take control of finding time to workout this week?
I worked hard to make the “me time” happen this week. I did forgo a play date for my son yesterday morning and traded it for a museum trip today. It worked out better timing-wise and he still had a blast seeing the dinosaurs after mommy’s workout today. I also was able to avoid a mom who has all this sh*t together in a way that I only daydream about, so it was good for my mental health too!
- GTKY: Do you have a favorite workout clothing brand? If not, what is your go-to piece of clothing for a workout?
I love Lululemon but it’s so darn expensive and I can not justify it when there’s cute stuff at TJMaxx all the time for 1/5 of the price. Every time I workout I have to wear mid-calf leggings. I hate full-length as they are always too long for my short legs and get crinkled in weird places as I move.
- What are you planning on doing this coming week? I'm hoping to get to the pool at least once this week and do some more strength.
- How have you been doing with water intake/nutrition lately? Better with nutrition. We've been going out a lot with friends and family and I've been better about ordering salads.
- Based on last week, time seemed to be a common theme. What baby steps are you working on doing to take control of finding time to workout this week? Next week is back to school, so I'm just hoping I'll put in the time even with work. I need to get it done right after school otherwise I know I'm too tired by the time my daughter goes to bed.
- GTKY: Do you have a favorite workout clothing brand? If not, what is your go-to piece of clothing for a workout? Whatever is stretchy enough to be comfy lol
- What are you planning on doing this coming week? Prenatal yoga again, and want to make sure we're keeping our walking routine going for the week.
- How have you been doing with water intake/nutrition lately? Since I'm still having lots of morning sickness and nausea, I've been trying to really concentrate on getting lots of protein in. I've also been really good with water and fluids this week ,so hoping to keep that up, too.
- Based on last week, time seemed to be a common theme. What baby steps are you working on doing to take control of finding time to workout this week? The new year is a much slower at work which is great to make sure to prioritize my yoga class at lunch time Wednesdays, as well as getting out to walk at work. I've taken to scheduling my yoga class which definitely helps keep others from planning a meeting or whatnot during the class.
- GTKY: Do you have a favorite workout clothing brand? If not, what is your go-to piece of clothing for a workout? I've usually always gotten clothes from old navy. Just started wearing specific maternity workout clothes which feels great. It seems like I've just popped in the past week or so!
I went to the gym 3x and also kept my daily steps above 6,000. This week I’d like to make it 8,000 (I live in a city/take public transportation to and from work so this shouldn’t be too hard, but it’s so easy to just go to and from work and not otherwise move at all!)
- What are you planning on doing this coming week?
i went to a prenatal yoga class for the first time today and it was HARD. I’m going to a Pilates class tomorrow that I’ve been to and love. Realistically, I don’t think I can make it to the gym more than once during the week but that’s my goal for the work week.
- How have you been doing with water intake/nutrition lately?
much better since New Years — everyone is on their resolution health kicks, and while I’m obviously not trying to lose weight, there are lots of inspiring meal/grocery shopping/cooking ideas floating around. I started following a bunch of healthy food types on Instagram for ideas.
- Based on last week, time seemed to be a common theme. What baby steps are you working on doing to take control of finding time to workout this week?
haha as mentioned above, literal baby steps in that I’m keeping track of my steps and trying to keep them up :-) ideally I’d get 10k/day but this week’s goal is 8k/day.
- GTKY: Do you have a favorite workout clothing brand? If not, what is your go-to piece of clothing for a workout?
I love Lululemon for leggings, especially the 7/8 length, but can’t justify the price of their tops. (I used to in my 20s, when I blew all my money on clothes. No more!) Now that I’m pregnant I just wear old T-shirt’s and then Ingrid & Isabel maternity leggings that are expensive, but I’m getting a lot of use out of. My boobs are outgrowing my sports bras so I prefer not to wear skimpy tank tops to work out anymore because things are starting to get obscene 😉
i was pretty good about taking the dog for a 2+mile walk everyday and hitting 10,000 steps.
- What are you planning on doing this coming week?
I am struggling so much with this. Dh is out of town and usually I walk the dog at night after the boys are in bed, but I can’t until he is back. I have a ton of pregnancy workout dvds but I’m scared to use them because I’m on pelvic rest so I just don’t know what to do while he is away.
- How have you been doing with water intake/nutrition lately?
nutrition was better this week overall. I am planning am still trying to find the sweet spot between eating enough and not overdoing it, but better week on the whole.
- Based on last week, time seemed to be a common theme. What baby steps are you working on doing to take control of finding time to workout this week?
I am trying to take as many trips out of my class and around the school as I can to add to my steps. I am hoping to maybe do a couple extra laps at lunch and prep (we only get a 30 min lunch) to make up for the lack of dog walks this week.
- GTKY: Do you have a favorite workout clothing brand? If not, what is your go-to piece of clothing for a workout?
lol I am too cheap to buy anything fancy, but I benefit from the fact that I moonlight as an assistant coach on a college lacrosse team, so I have tons of workout gear from the team. They are my favorite things to wear and workout in. Most of the gear is under armor or Nike.
- What did you do this last week to keep moving? Yoga as well as some walking. Everything has to be low impact so no running which is slowly killing me.
- What are you planning on doing this coming week? More yoga - should be able to make it to the class I went to last pregnancy on Wednesday for the first time this pregnancy. I need to get back into a morning walk EVERY DAY like I did when I couldn't run any more last pregnancy but with getting DD out the door, it's hard.
- How have you been doing with water intake/nutrition lately? Nutrition has been ehh but water is good I think.
- Based on last week, time seemed to be a common theme. What baby steps are you working on doing to take control of finding time to workout this week? Letting DH keep DD occupied while I get yoga in and trying to not feel guilty.
- GTKY: Do you have a favorite workout clothing brand? If not, what is your go-to piece of clothing for a workout? I love Beyond Yoga for maternity stuff right now but also have gap stuff from last pregnancy. I have a few Lorna Jane and a lot of Fabletics from regular life lol. Under Armour and Athleta are also go-tos. I have way too much workout clothes!
