  • @scp2585 I saw that too! I was like, "I wonder if we're due date twins?" :D
  • Danielle Fishellllllllllllllllllllllllll - come out, come out, wherever you arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeee! lol
  • @Panaceia I have not purchased anything! Being our first, I need everything and it's been too overwhelming. I'm literally frozen with fear/indecision whenever I think about buying baby stuff. We might be putting LO in an empty dresser drawer and using tshirts as diapers if this continues...  :#

@hestia14, I LOVE doing laundry! Used to do it for my roommates in college when they asked, which wasn't super often, but I never minded doing that. We usually do a load each day with workout clothes. That may change when the nugget arrives, but so far, emptying the dishwasher the chore I loathe most. H and I have to take turns doing it because we both hate it so much.

And me, too, @cindler! It's so overwhelming, but I got some advice on where to start on the 35+ check-in thread.
  • I haven't bought anything yet. Waiting till we found out the sex. If it's a girl we'll need a few things, boy we are good. We'll need a new infant seat no matter what as ours got destroyed in Harvey.

My 8 and 6yr old just made themselves and my two littles lunch. I swear I heard angels singing.

  • 😢😖 so my DH is a mutt :) African American, Native American (Seneca Indian) and White. He deeply believes in the native traditions of not cutting a warrior's hair. So our boys have NEVER had a hair cut. I just spent an hour (not even close to our record) detangling my 11yr old's hair so he could get in the shower. I am insisting on a new rule - absolutely no phone/video games/TV until he has showered and or brushed his hair every day. I cannot keep up!
  • @indulgentgypsy I said in a previous thread that your husband reminds me of Michael Franti, and his ethnic mix is exactly like Michael Franti :p DH is a big fan of his music.
  • I get really bad anxiety talking on the phone. I know it’s embarrassing but I like to be prepared. Haha

has anyone switched Obgyn’s in the middle of their pregnancy? I need to switch and I’m not sure how to make my appt. do I need another ultrasound, full exam and blood work when I switch doctors? Or do I just say that My last appt with my current OB is January 15 and they’ll make an appt 4 weeks out from that?
  • @bartonolivia I haven't switched in the middle but I've switched a few times postpartum. I think you just tell them how far along you are and let them know that you've had blood work, ultrasound, etc. I would imagine they may be ok with just having your records transferred over.
  • @hestia14 doing laundry is ok. Putting it away is what sucks.
  • Whew! Great news @literatureandink

I did my blood work for my Panorama test on Wednesday and am anxiously awaiting results.
  • Hello everyone! I have a totally random question...

I’m considering applying for other jobs (I’m a contract therapist) because my current job is not enough and business has been slow. Is this something I should disclose in applying, or no? I’m 13w3d, and a FTM so I don’t really look pregnant yet. I don’t plan to take an incredibly long maternity leave, since my schedule is so flexible. Maybe 4-6 weeks. I really need the work and I’m not sure how to handle this whole pregnant-while-applying thing! 😬
  • @rgn12 You don't need to disclose it while applying. It's illegal for companies to take that into account during the hiring process.
  • @rgn12 do some googling of employment discrimination laws in your state. It also doesn't hurt to give a lawyer a call. I'm guessing someone well versed in employment law in your state would have an answer for you off the top of their head. They likely wouldn't even charge.
  • Currently wearing H's "don't hate me because I'm beardiful" shirt. Zero fvcks given.

  • Why am I completely unable to tell people that I'm pregnant?! The words just won't come out. I planned to tell my coworkers this week but it didn't happen. I know I'm already showing but until I say it, my coworkers aren't at liberty to talk about it. What is my problem.

I don't use social media other than this site, so there's no mass announcement anywhere.  I need to just spit it out.
  • @cbeanz You're not alone. I don't really like having attention on me so I've avoided telling anyone if I don't need to. I keep hoping my son will just spill the beans for me.
  • @cbeanz you are not alone. I'm just planning on telling people as it comes up. So far, just ONE person knows at my work (I work remote, so easy to get by with no one knowing). My close family, in-laws, and a couple of my really close friends. And then only just people who really need to know, like coaches at the gym. I'm SUPER anxious about telling people and about letting the word out. The word is slowly spreading and I'm okay with that.
  • My husband has yet to meet someone and not tell them I'm pregnant.  I don't need to tell anyone.
  • @Cbeanz I still haven’t told my parents or one of my sisters! Or my in-laws for that matter...although I told everyone at work! I had a really hard time being psychologically ready for baby number 2 and I’m sure my inability to tell my closest family members is somehow related to that/anxiety of something going wrong...
  • +1 for not telling people.

I am so annoyed right now. The director of our daycare/preschool just joined a MLM and is posting shit all over the school page. I love our school, but this gets such a huge sideeye from me and I’m not sure I can keep my mouth shut.
  • @wineandcoffee That seems really unprofessional. In my world, that would be a conflict of interest to do that.
  • Super unprofessional @wineandcoffee! I've been in a couple MLMs and I wasn't allowed to even bring it up or mention it to parents let alone post on the school site!
  • @indulgentgypsy and @hakele yeah. It’s suler weird. Like, I don’t care what she chooses to sell or promote in her own life, but having it on our school page is weird.
  • Pleas help out the message board noon. What's MLM?

+1 To not telling anyone. I alternate from wanting to shout it from the rooftops and keeping it secret. No one at work knows, close family and a couple friends know. That's it. DH told a judge, so word might get around since he sees so many of my peers. Hopefully he was told to keep it mum. I want to hear the heartbeat again before we tell the world. Not sure why, but I need that reassurance one more time
  • @cindler multi-level marketing, or pyramid scheme type product...  I also agree, that if she wants to do it on her own page, good for her...but totally inappropriate to post that stuff on the school page. That's bizarre.
  • @Cbeanz I've hardly been telling people either. Mostly because the responses I've gotten from even family has been "was it planned?!?" and I'm just not in the mood to hear it...
  • DH usually does mornings and I do bedtime but he worked late last night so I'm up - so far my 2 year old has eaten 3 pieces of bacon and now we're watching Moana 🤷‍♀️
  • My in laws kept my son last night, I don’t let that happen very often because I reallly want my baby at home every night. But they were already watching him today so we can clean out our garage, take our Christmas decorations down, and go through the play room. The play room is becoming the nursery so we have a lot of work to do. We rented a storage unit behind our house to help create some more space.
  • @nolemomma14 happy birthday to your little one !

@cindler its like jamberry, color street, there's a clothing one I can't remember.
  • Happy Birthday to your LO @nolemomma14!! ❤️

  • That cat has a beard.
  • Happy 2nd birthday to your LO @nolemomma14!
    Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

  • @wineandcoffee Hell yes to putting laundry away being the worst part. All my laundry from two weeks ago is still folded on piles on my bed. Honestly I need to give away a lot and figure out what I'm not going to be able to wear for awhile and put it away.

@nolemomma14 Happy birthday to your LO!

@cindler You have so much time to get stuff for the baby. We didn't buy anything until after we were 20wks, and most of it in the last 10wks. Now, the grandmas on the other hand....

DH was officially furloughed as of yesterday - his agency saved just enough funding to keep them working up through the 3rd. UGH. We have money saved in the banks for this but not for the "months and years" as Trump is threatening. So grumpy, and so worried for those fed one-income families, military especially that have to keep working unpaid. Any other moms out there dealing with this? UGH.
