It was awesome for my family. We worked on our marriage so now we have a strong and healthy relationship. I finally stopped feeling bad for myself and took initiative to get in shape, working out & eating right. Lost 70 pounds in 7 months! I finally decided that I couldnโt conquer my depression and anxiety on my own so I faced my fears and started medication and Iโve completely changed as a person... Iโm a better mom, wife, & overall just a better me. Iโve learned to love myself!! Best of all we made this little bean and are completing our family. โค๏ธ
2018 was a super solid year with some challenges, of course. It wasnโt a great year for me professionally - I felt overwhelmed and undervalued. Personally it was an amazing year, with my fiancรฉ and I getting engaged and us getting pregnant, of course. It was made even sweeter when my cousin - one of my best friends - also became pregnant - we share the same due date!!
There were a few hard months. I suffer from chronic anxiety and ocd and had to work very hard at not letting them take over my life. Itโs something Iโll always have to work on but medication and therapy help immensely.
@bartonolivia Iโm so glad you had such a productive and healing year! โค๏ธ
Let's just say I'm glad this year is over and I can't wait to see how 2019 unfolds. The beginning of year started off fine. The summer was fun. The fall it was all down hill financially for us. This little puffin has made me realize that instead of going into the new year depressed we have plans in placed.ย
@bartonolivia I'm so glad you had an amazing year! @literatureandink I'm sorry about your professional life. Hopefully all of that gets worked out for you. Congrats on the engagement!ย
2018 was huge! We made an unexpected cross-country move from VA to Seattle.ย Much like @bartonolivia, I made some big changes/discoveries personally. Including addressing my anxiety/depression. I've also started to make an effort to reconnect with religion, which was a big part of my life growing up. It's really helped me be a better mom and wife. Overall, I just feel healthier and more mentally prepared to handle life. I am excited for 2019, I hope it's as awesome as 2018:)ย
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21ย
@bartonolivia That sounds like an amazingly gratifying year for you, congratulations on making change happen!ย @literatureandink I am so happy for you and the positive things that have come out of this year for you I hope that you find some resolve with your career as you move into the next year.ย @asupernovablizzardstorm I'm glad you've taken a turn with how you want to go into the next year. We've also hit a few walls of financial uncertainty over the past year and are heading into another one. It's scary but it feels less so when you sketch out some ideas of how to survive until clarity and stability return.ย @ameliabedelia-2 Such a big year for you all with that move! I know we've chatted before, but it's definitely a big shift moving into the PNW, but there are so many great things, I hope you all find time to explore all the places you want to go this year.ย
My year has definitely been interesting. I've been on a journey of physical, emotional and spiritual healing that has only just begun. I'm struggling to redefine myself in a healthy, strong way and that has brought a lot of big questions to the surface, including what kind of relationship I want with my family. But I am so excited about the prospect of change and I look forward to what this little baby will bring to our family.ย
2018 was good. Not life changing, but good overall. I finished my PhD and am in a great place professionally. We moved at the end of 2017 into a home we love and spent the year making it a little more โours.โ ย Iโm excited to see what 2019 brings.ย
2018 was wonderful. I started off the year as a mom. Had DD 1/26, so Iโve had the entire year to practice this mom thing. I just realized I was pregnant twice this year: the first 26 days of the year, and now. Itโll be really exciting to see how 2019 goes with 2 under 2!ย
I had to go back and look at all the pictures I took this year to really see how much we've did this year. We've nearly doubled our homestead stock, did a good bit of pickling and preserving, had a decent harvest even though we started so late, milked our own goats for half the year, and filled our freezer from our own stock.ย
Our boys have grown so much! H has really stepped up and took charge at his job and will hopefully be benefiting from that in 2019. I have felt more like me than ever before too.
Lots of growth this year.ย

2018 feels like a blur right now- got into great shape and was married in Kauai in April, did a ton of camping this summer, work in summer/fall kicked my ass but I got a raise out of it, H has been doing well at work, DD keeps getting easier (which makes me worry weโre crazy to be starting over with another), we did spend most of the year in the to make a baby or not debate, and this fall has felt defined by exhaustion and losing all my body image progress from 2017:first part of 2018.ย Iโm stoked to see how 2019 unfolds!ย
2018 was good overall, the tail end of 2017 and the first half of 2018 I lost about 40lbs and got into a good healthy eating/workout routine which made me feel better than I have in a long time. DD had a happy healthy year which is all I can ever ask for.ย
ย The roughest part was TTC, we started trying July 2017 so by 2018 it was already starting to get tough seeing negative results every month, but finally we got pregnant so overall a big success Iโd say!ย
My 2018 was good! Ups and downs of course. First full year back to work after having my son in Sept 2016 and it was challenging at times to be ready on time/commute/daycare drop off/have dinner ready etc. We got into a routine though, just in time to mix it up with another baby!
2018 has been crazy! I finished my masterโs degree, I started a new job, my sis graduated from med school, my sis moved 2 hours away, my dad got a new job also 2 hours away and my mom and dad are moving (they currently live like ~20 hours away, and have since I was 18), hubby quit his full-time teaching job to pursue our family business, we had two big weddings for close friends, and now weโre expecting our first child (and grandchild for our parents).ย

Our youngest turned 1! He will be 2 on January 5th! I loved seeing my boys grow closer together as brothers and actually play together.ย
We had a few great vacations. There were ups and downs of course, but overall it was a good year!ย
Cant wait to see what 2019 holds, excited to add the last member of the family this summer, and get to know all of your ladies!ย
