H was up all night throwing up and he's still asleep now. My stomach is feeling blah and I can't tell if it's because I'm actually getting sick, or I'm just afraid I will get sick. Low key weekend ahead. We have new year's Eve plans, but tonight and tomorrow there isn't much to do.
We don’t have much plans. I need to help my kids clean their room. It’s a disaster. Tiny little pieces of toys and LEGOs everywhere. DH picked up a side job today. Yay for extra money but boo to him being gone all day. But he did text me to say that before heading home, it’s over an hour away, he is stopping at the most amazing pasta place. They hand make all their pasta. I have been dreaming about their pasta since we tried for the first time a couple weeks ago.

Last night H got nest-y and started putting things together in baby's nursery. I was a little surprised. I have no idea what to do for theme or anything so I've just been putting boxes in there and ignoring its existence.
@eatinwatermelonseeds sorry YH isn’t feeling well. Hopefully it was just a 24 hour bug or something he ate that doesn’t spread. Nesting has hit me so hard right now! I think it’s because we know it’s a girl now. Either way, it’s killing me to not be able to do things to the nursery so I’ve been doing the stuff around the house that we need done before she arrives.
@mrskoz428 I am so not motivated at all. We had DS's nursery started by now and finished by about 30 weeks--ish. This time around I just have no idea what I want to do with the nursery and we have 5 million other things to do. I want to do up DS's room when I do baby's. Which really at this point just includes getting little dino pieces for the letters I made for his nursery 6 years ago. Right now there are jungle characters, but he has dino bedding, a big dino decal, so I want to add to that. No freaking clue what to do with baby's. But I do want letters for him, too. DS did want Pokemon, but I really don't want to redo his whole room 😂 *sigh* I need more motivation..I felt like I was nesting at this point last time.. I'm not there yet at all, H is nesting more than I am 😂
This is completely random, but gave me a laugh. Last night H and I were having a good talk about how this pregnancy was just perfect timing. I had said something about not expecting the babies to be so far apart in age, but we're in a much better place now than we had been. He was like "yeah, and you were off birth control for a while, too" "yeah, I've been off since May 2015. And then we got pregnant RIGHT after I graduated. Guess God was our birth control, 'hm, nope, not yet'" ".... If we ever have a daughter please don't tell her that" "tell her what?" "God is your birth control" 😂😂😂
I went through all of DS's newborn-6 month stuff and pulled out what baby girl can wear! Didn't even bother with 9 month bc it was summer for him and it will be cold weather for her. Might pull out some sleepers later but for now nb-6 is definitely good. I'm headed to Carter's soon to check out their extra in-store 40% off clearance just to see if anything catches my eye for her or for DS. I'm not expecting to get much, if anything, but I do feel good about having the clothes we already own sorted! I'm having commitment issues with buying clothes and we have sooo much time still. I think I'm just overwhelmed with this new world of options and what if I buy something but then closer to due date way cuter stuff comes out?! 😆
@DuchessOfCambridge I think it’s sooo much easier to put boy stuff in a girl baby than vice versa. We are doing the exact same thing and everything we have is pink/purple or has ruffles or bows. Since we found out this one is a boy, I’ve been conciously trying to but unisex pajamas for DD, but they are very obviously “boy pajamas”. I wish baby clothes manufacturers made more true unisex options.
5 hours later and we are still organizing the girls room!!! I officially hate toys with small pieces like Barbie shoes, Shopkins, Legos, beads, doll clothes. We have listened to the Mary Poppins Returns soundtrack once and the Greatest Showman soundtrack twice. I’m taking a break, but I sat down, so now I’m not sure I have any motivation left to continue tonight. We may have to finish tomorrow.
Eta: I found two decapitated Barbies and their hair chopped off. WTF! And little did they know, I secretly threw stuff in the trash bag as we went. Ha ha ha.

We are heading up to Canada to visit my siblings for New Years. I am looking forward to seeing everyone and watching the boys run around with their cousins, but not looking forward to the 5 hours of driving tomorrow. I am definitely hitting the nesting phase but I’m so far behind in everyday housework that I have no idea how I will ever find time to do the other stuff that is calling my name.
We are fortunate this is boy #3 for us so we will be able to get away with some of our stored clothes. I have a feeling we might have to do a little shopping (not sad about it at all lol), since we had two winter babies and this one is a summer baby. I’m not sure we have anything short sleeved in newborn-3 months.
@robyn2201 I feel like that is going to be me in the next day or so 😑 So many Hatchimals, My Little Pony, Woodzeez, Lego, Barbie, etc etc * everywhere*. The play room is a disaster, and DD1's room isn't much better. Every time I think I get something cleaned up it's a disaster again.
Also, DH is in a mood and I have no idea why. Normally I can pinpoint something I've done to irritate him, but I got nothing. At least not that I did, I think he may be annoyed at his dad not leaving him alone. But yay for irritated, sullen husband 🙄🙄🙄
I love how we have 3 toilets in this house, but DS will still knock on the door of whatever bathroom we're in and tell us urgently that he has to go potty 🙄😂
@eatinwatermelonseeds DD1 does this. We have *five* toilets, but whenever she has to go and I'm using the main floor half bath she screams at me that she needs to go *right now* and refuses to go upstairs to her bathroom. She insists I have to get off (mid-poo......) to appease Her Royal Highness. Clearly I never give in, but she still refuses and insists on waiting, banging on the door that she NEEDS to go until I finish.
I did end up getting a couple at Carter's but it was 40% off clearance in store and she scanned another coupon for me that I didn't even have so 🤷
@chloe97 agreed. We bought a lot of gender neutral stuff for DS because I like neutral colors anyway but it does still say "boy" to me. I put away everything that was clearly boy and left stuff that really could go either way. But truly she could wear whatever and I could slap a bow on her head haha.
I didn't even think about how getting to DS's stuff he wore in the NICU might be hard until I saw it and started crying. I pulled out three outfits for baby girl but I might change my mind and prefer she not wear any of his NICU things, and I'll just buy new NB sized stuff for her. I'm just assuming based off DS she'll be in NB stuff for about a month.
@eatinwatermelonseeds my cat tries to come in when I'm in the bathroom 😂 he has been ALL OVER ME lately. The other day he sat next to me on the couch with his head in my lap, then followed me to the bathroom, then got in bed with me.
@fatmonica I think we decided on honeydue. Our bank account is attached to it, and we both have access. We were freaking appalled by how much money we spent in December... Like WTH. I don't know how. But thank you for the suggestion. 😊
@eatinwatermelonseeds my girls don’t do it to me so much, but more to each other. One says they’re going pee and all of a sudden the other is racing her for the main bath. They will use the other bathrooms in the house any other time except when one is on the main bathroom toilet they absolutely CANNOT use another one. A lot of tears have been shed over these bathroom races.
Hypothetically speaking, if someone said their kid's name was one thing, and then later said their kid's name was something else... similar but different..., would you chalk it up to pregnancy brain, suspect a catfish, or something else?
@brie_and_almonds could it be one is her legal name and one is a nickname? Like Amelia and Amy or Ella and Ellie? Our daughter is Hannah and sometimes we can her Anna or Nana- mostly bc that is what she calls herself. Sometimes kids as young as 3 want to be called something else, so they may insist their parents call them something similar, but not their actual name.
@brie_and_almonds part of me thinks catfish because she’s not here often and hasn’t ever done pictures or anything, not saying that’s a defining thing to whether you’re real or not but that’s my thinking.
Considering the fact that she doesn't really engage with individual people, just posts to talk about xyz, whatever pertains to the thread, I say catfish.

Side note: am I the only one whose kid goes straight to wake them up in the morning and when you ask them to wake their dad they say "but he's sleeping?" 🙄
