I’m curious how many are team green on this board! We were with our first, but decided to try the other way this time and found out. I was by far in the minority in the group I was in at the time, but I feel like I have seen a decent number commenting here and there on this board.
@minnemiska team green here and I’ve seen at least 2-3 others, but we are far outnumbered. When I talk to people about it in the real world, they act completely astonished that we wouldn’t find out. I, personally, am so stoked for the surprise!
@MaggieG183 my MIL makes me feel like I’ve ruined it by finding out because she didntband it was “way more fun to be able to surprise everyone with everything”. Don’t get me wrong, total props to people who can wait it out and get that extra special surprise but I am such a planner than not knowing beforehand would slowly eat away at me. 😂😂
@MaggieG183 having now done it both ways I can officially say that Team Green was more fun! My husband got to announce in the delivery room and I will never forget the look on his face as his fulfilled his duties! (not that I regret finding out this time, but a lab report is inherently less exciting than an actual newborn)
@knarlytaurus we contemplated going team yellow this time, because I feel weird about gendering a fetus, but then my husband told his mom without asking me. I was super pissed at him for making the decision without me but by that point it was too late. MIL tried asking about names too and I made it very clear we are NOT sharing names with anyone.
Ha! No worries, @eatinwatermelonseeds I realize I'm a rare bird here.
Not offended at all. It's funny how much more common boys seem to be. I
read that there are slightly more males than females because in olden
days, male babies had a lower survival rate and were less likely to make
it out of infancy/toddlerhood alive. Raising a son, I can definitely
understand that.
