Baby is the size of a(n): Dollar bill... that concept is slightly freaky to me.
Any appointments? Questions?: Our anatomy scan is tomorrow! DD1 is coming along since her school gets out early, and we will (hopefully) finally find out if this little one is a boy or a girl
Rants/Raves?: I am so picky about names... I don't know how we're ever going to settle on something, especially if this is girl #3... the conversation will start getting serious after tomorrow. I can't imagine being team green mostly because I'm so indecisive that settling on two different names would be nearly impossible.
How are you feeling?: Pretty okay most of the time, but I'm starting to feel large. I compared to the pregnancy journal I kept before and I'm not actually any bigger around than I was at this point last time, but damn I feel huge already.
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? I really loved a book called Jellybeans for Breakfast and read it over and over again until it practically disintegrated. My parents still have the old, crumbling copy in a memory box somewhere, but I think it's out of print, so I don't have one
Baby is the size of a(n): saw a website suggest a pint of ice cream, that just seems loco!
Any appointments? Questions?: we had our ultrasound yesterday and found out we are having another girl! Big sis wasn’t too thrilled but I think she’ll come around.
Rants/Raves?: I am so sleepy! I can’t seem to stay awake. And it isn’t like total body fatigue, just sleepiness
How are you feeling?: I feel good. My belly is making itself known. I am still throwing up several times a week for eating fairly normally now so I won’t complain.
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? Oh jeez, I don’t know! I was part of the Caldecott and Newberry book clubs and read a ton of those. My mom still has a shelf of all of them at her house. Those are for older kids so I can’t wait to start reading them out loud when the girls get older, eeep!!
@brie_and_almonds good luck at your scan tomorrow! How exciting big sis gets to join! We started talking about names as soon as we found out it’s a girl and my husband was like, “this is going to be hard!”
Due date/W+D- 5/7, 19 weeks today! Baby is the size of a mango.
Appt.- I have a general one tomorrow, but the anatomy scan is a week from today. I'm so excited to find out!
Rant/Raves- I had my Fed. Tax final yesterday which was brutal. My morning sickness is getting better, but I'm still on Zofran which makes me so foggy. Not good for finals. My rave is that my last final is a take-home, this semester is almost over!
How are you feeling? I have started feeling little movements from Nugget which has made this feel frighteningly real and very exciting. I've got a lot of researching to do this break in order to prep for my first baby!
Favorite childhood book? My mom always read the Critter books to me and I still have them. I can't wait to read them to my LO.
@brie_and_almonds I hope your anatomy scan went well! Hopefully it won't be too difficult to settle on a name this time!
@nuggetmama369 what are you studying? I live in the tax world so studying for a tax test also gives me the shivers!
I had a very low key mama book I read that had a ton of pictures while a friend of mine read a ton of academic parenting books to prepare. Both seem like good options, just depends on what type of person you are!
Baby is the size of a(n): mango, a hedgehog, foot the size of a pop tab
Any appointments? Questions?: not this week, but next we have the anatomy scan!
Rants/Raves?: I’m loving on my son right now. He’s been so sweet and killing it potty training. I was a bit annoyed he woke up so early today but I realized it was because he had been holding his pee all night (8 pm to 6:45 am) and just needed to go to the bathroom. I’ll have to start getting him up at midnight to go potty. Proud momma right now.
How are you feeling?: I've been feeling really solid lately. Tired but zero complaints.
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? The Maggie B. It’s a cute book about a girl who goes on an sea adventure with her little brother. I lived it because I thought it was about me and my brother (my maiden name starts with a for the longest time. I still have my copy and I started reading it to my son about a week ago and he says the little brother is Kyler (my son’s name). ❤️
Any appointments? Questions?: we had our anatomy scan on Friday, everything looked great and it’s another boy!!
Rants/Raves?: this baby will be nameless, we only agreed on one last time... and used it (Mason James). Helpppp
How are you feeling?: fine!
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? I was a horse obsessed child so my favorite series were The Saddle Club and Thoroughbred. My mom worked at the library so I don’t think I ever actually owned any, I just had a constant rotation checked out.
@ashleaf2018 I know you and Rhett have been working on potty training too. Have you tackled nighttime?
Jealous of all of you finding out gender right now. We are team green and it’s totally me who’s pushing the mystery idea, but we are also having a super hard time picking out names because we just don’t know boy or girl! I know I’m going to be thrilled when I have waited this long to find out come May, but man, it’s hard not knowing at the same time. I am nervous though that we’ll be leaving the hospital with a no-name baby or I’ll have naming regrets because we’ll make a rash decision in the moment.
@MaggieG183 we were worried about our 3 year old being able to hold her pee until morning so we keep her training potty by her bed so she can go whenever she needs...and it really is whenever. Sometimes she will scream at 2am for someone to come wipe her butt 😂 thankfully that is only when she goes number 2 but we regularly find pee in the potty so we know it’s a good idea to keep it there.
@aels12 We don’t have any girl names picked out but my boy names we no longer need were Elijah, Levi, and Silas. Good luck!
@teesmee that’s a good idea! We’ll be transitioning to the big boy bed January-ish, so after that, I’ll start intergrating the potty nearby. My son is just 2 so I’m impressed he’s getting it at this point anyway give that boys are typically harder to potty train. I’m fully chalking it up to us using cloth diapers though. He really hates being wet and uncomfortable.
Any appointments? Questions?: anatomy scan Friday so hopefully we find out if we're having a boy or girl.
Rants/Raves?: it's just been a long week already and I'm ready for Friday and the weekend
How are you feeling?: Just drained.
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? So many things. Around my son's age? Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Overall from my youth? Harry Potter. I still have several copies of both
@fuscok88 does your kiddo make you sing Chicka Chicka Boom Boom? We have that song on all the time and now I can’t just read it, I have to sing it 🙈
@nuggetmama369 I am a super nerd and love it. I love being in the weeds on the numbers and I also get to dabble with tax policy. Good luck with finals!
Any appointments? Questions?: OB appointment next week, GI appointment this week, just had my second infusion for new meds for Crohn's on Monday.
Rants/Raves?: I have to do my anatomy scan again, because they scheduled me too early to see everything. Radiology tried to ask me why "I" scheduled it so early. Umm, because the OB told me the time of the appointment and I said, yes I can make it. I would assume that there would be some coordination!
How are you feeling?: I'm getting lightning crotch, where my pelvis will hurt so bad for a few minutes and then the pain just goes away. I feel like it's too early for this. It's not too bad, just really weird.
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? Harriet the Spy. I don't think I do have a copy. I'd probably read it every week
@lovelybabybumpz lurking from group 3 but how early did you go for your A/S? Did they try and couldn't see everything or did they not even let you proceed with your appointment? My insurance is weird for lab/x-ray and I have to go to crappy labs but high quality ultrasound places so where I got/get my NT ultrasound and A/S is a super fancy high risk OB (literally where my office would send their high risk patients) instead of my office's MFM. I scheduled it for 20 weeks last time per my OB but the doctor at my NT scan at 12 weeks on the dot told me to come back in 6 weeks for the A/S which I thought was perfect for getting off modified bedrest if my SCH hasn't grown before traveling for Christmas but I'm a bit worried I'll have to go back again, later.
@teesmee he does not be he will make me read the book repeatedly until I hide it. @kvh22 with my son I did my anatomy scan at 18 weeks and could see everything just fine my midwife for this pregnancy told me to schedule anytime from 18-20.
@kvh22 I was scheduled for 18+4 (or 5?). I thought it was a BIT early, but figured they wouldn't have scheduled me if it was a problem. They said that when I come back it will be a quick follow-up and not the entire exam, because they took photos and analyzed everything that they COULD see. I was annoyed because there's nothing quick about missing work whether they take 5 photos or 50, but I digress. Basically, they couldn't see some of the heart things, which is normal as they're not quite formed yet. And the spine is not fully calcified. It's really the matter of a few days difference, and it might have been viewable, but it's probably safer to wait until 20 weeks (which is when I had mine with DD1).
@lovelybabybumpz ahh interesting. Thanks for the thorough information! If I have to go back, I can go without DH. My job is super flexible with doctor's appointments - my boss is across the country and works remote and believes in us just getting our work done - but his isn't. He has to track his hours and take PTO if he doesn't get to 80 in a pay period. We had my 16 week appt last Monday (at 16+3), DD's pediatrician appointment this Monday, and my A/S this Friday which is all in the same pay period for him so he's going to end up taking an hour or two of PTO that he's not able to make up. If it weren't for the SCH, I'd be kinda pissed and want to wait until the new year so we'd save the $100 or whatever it's going to cost (I forget but not much) since we'll hit our OOP max with delivery, of course. As it stands, I'm still glad to get in and get the SCH looked at. I ended up going back for a fetal echo around 24 weeks due to an arrythmia with DD after the A/S at 20 week.
@brie_and_almonds congrats! @lovelybabybumpz we went in at 19+5 and will need to go back in for another because baby was super comfy and didn’t want to move so they could get a good view of the spine which was right along my spine. Part of me thinks it’s a ploy to bill for another US and I hate having to take sick leave from work, but of course I’ll be there.
@kvh22 Luckily my job is super flexible too. I just have all this self-imposed guilt And I have a million speciality appointments to balance. Hopefully DH gets to have almost the full experience, even if you have to go back. @teesmee At least you can blame it on baby. I can't be mad at baby. But I can be mad at incompetent OBs and schedulers.
Baby is the size of a(n): Endive/dollar bill/bell pepper/some huge type of tomato I've never heard of
Any appointments? Questions?: Anatomy scan next week!
Rants/Raves?: Halfway done!
How are you feeling?: Okay, feeling lots of kicks now, so that's really reassuring. It's getting harder to sleep, though.
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? Hmm, I loved A Little Princess, and also Harry Potter (but I was 12 or 13 when I read it for the first time, not sure if that counts). HP yes, I have my original version.
DD born PPROM preemie at 36 weeks on 10/1/17 after over a year TI, then 3 failed IUIs, and finally a successful IVF FET.
Due with #2 5/2/19 after HIO once in my FW, because apparently that's how life works now. Team Blue!
Any appointments? Questions?: Just had my anatomy ultrasound yesterday and found out I’m having a girl.
Rants/Raves?: Not happy about the lack of quality sleep I’m getting.
How are you feeling?: Tired. I finally think my morning sickness has subsided since last weekend. I still constantly am burping and getting heartburn no matter what I do or eat. I’m waking up pretty much every night with restless legs and not sure how to remedy that. 🤷🏻♀️
GTKY: (Stolen from Group 2) What was your favorite childhood book? Do you still have a copy? I honestly don’t remember having a favorite childhood book.
