Baby is the size of a(n): peach! How did that happen so quickly? 

Any appointments? Questions?: have an appointment coming up next week but it should be a quick one (no tests or US expected). Has anyone else been suffering from insomnia lately?

Rants/Raves?: none right now just so I've the nausea.

How are you feeling?: see above - go away nausea! 

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone!: I'm a knitter, but haven't wanted to knit much in the past few months. I just finished a pair of fingerless mitts and trying to finish up the and blanket I started a bit ago but haven't worked on too much lately. I used to knit my nephew and niece a sweater each Christmas, but I don't think that I have the energy for that this year  Maybe mittens or hats?

How are you feeling?: Better! Less nausea/migraines, my boobs hurt.

Rants/Raves?: I am so thankful my parents are coming to help me clean up my house tomorrow.

How are you feeling?: Still tired and nauseous. I laughed out loud at the bump telling me that I should now be high energy in the 15th week.

I have two crochet projects I am working on. I have a baby blanket and an elephant blanket.

Baby is the size of a(n): a maple leaf...that seems large to me? Or perhaps I'm just used to freakishly large maple leaves?

Any appointments? Questions?: just had one last Friday so nothing until my AS 1/2! It can't come fast enough!

Rants/Raves?: NT results are back with decreased risk of all abnormalities so yay!

How are you feeling?: a little more normal, just could do without the dull headaches most days. Still only really want to eat what sounds good, certain things still make me gag a bit, but at least it's actually due to something and not just feeling ill all the time.

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone! Just Christmas decorating...things I want to make/do but will likely not get to. I can't even get my tree decorated, despite it being up for two weeks. I told the girls we'd decorate after school yesterday, they did it their own way while I made dinner before we could do it together...I think I might just leave it, or hang ornaments around 😂

Any appointments? Questions?: not this week. My next appointment is at the end of the month.

Rants/Raves?: I got DH the perfect gift for Christmas. He’s coming home from basic training on the 21st for the holidays, so I am counting down the days until I can see him!

How are you feeling?: pretty good. Still dealing with nausea and vomiting, but I have been feeling less tired and more energetic lately.

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone! I’ve been trying to teach myself how to knit. I’ve been starting things, then trashing them because I realized I made a mistake or they just looked really sloppy. I wanted to make LO a blanket, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to.

Rants/Raves?: Rave: DH and I are heading to South Beach tomorrow for 5 days I cannot wait to leave this dreary cold mid-Atlantic weather and turning off my cell phone! 

How are you feeling?: Hungry but at least now it's for nutritious food!   

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone! I am planning on doing a few handmade pieces of wall art for our nursery - or I'll end up buying them from Minted when they don't turn out well.

@missy052819 and @knarlytaurus : I have been having terrible insomnia the last few weeks and my husband's horrible snoring is not helping! I literally recorded him last night and then played it back right before his alarm went off.

Any appointments? Questions?: Appointment last week went well, we have our anatomy scan in 3 weeks to confirm the gender, but I think it's a boy for no particular reason at all LOL.

Rants/Raves?:  Telling people at work has been annoying and the belly touches have begun. I work in a small office and told them that my stomach is off limits.

How are you feeling?:  Headaches lately, but the weather and my water intake is likely to blame!

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone!  I am working on some decorating in the house and finishing up some rooms before we get to work on the nursery.

Any appointments? Questions?: I have just a regular prenatal appointment on friday. I'm assuming that the results of my NT scan were all normal but I am.looking forward to hearing for sure from my doctor.

Rants/Raves?: Rave: I told my students I am having a baby today and they were super excited but then Rant: I got an email from one of the parents who is upset that I wont be there until the end of the school year 🙄 #sorrynotsorry 

How are you feeling?: Still nauseous and for some reason extra tired this week but I'm doing okay overall 😊

Baby is the size of a(n): An orange (?). This seems so big. 

Any appointments? Questions?: Had my 16wk appointment on Monday - just the standard doppler check. 

Rants/Raves?:  At my appointment, my OB couldn't find the HB with the doppler so he had to get the portable ultrasound again. While I love being able to see LO, this is now the second time this has happened and it piques my anxiety.  He assured me LO is just being stubborn, but gahhhh, it's a terrifying few minutes when he can't find the HB.  But, it was good at 149! 

How are you feeling?:  Aside from the nerves creeping in prior to my AS (which is 1/3/19), I'm feeling pretty good. The fatigue is lessening and now I'm feeling more RLP than anything. It doesn't help that DS wants to jump all over me and he's landed a few kicks to the groin.  

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone!   I am completing Christmas cards to send out -- that's as good as it gets right now. This is a crazy time of the year!

Any appointments? Questions?: I have a regular appt on friday however I went in Monday because my bp was 154/94. I got stuck with the new young (real young) dr who spent more time questioning why i was checking my bp rather than trying to find out what was wrong. she ended up telling me to put my feet up- that was it. So im going to discuss this with the other doctor on friday and told the office i no longer want to be scheduled with her, i only want to see the other two doctors.

Rants/Raves?: I think ive felt the baby move. However as i am a FTM im not sure. 

How are you feeling?: I feel great other than inlose all energy by 8pm every night. It doesnt matter what time i get up in the morning or how much i sleep- i am done by 8pm. I know i am one of the lucky one to have had almost not symptoms but with my history of loses i think i would feel more reassured that everything is fine if i had more symptoms.

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone!  I have started so many projects i hope i can get them all done in time! I designed custom christmas/baby announcement cards that i am mailing out this weekend. I am in the process of making a lot of cloth pocket diapers ( i made some for my cousin when she had her last baby and she said she really like cloth diapering so i am going to give it a go). I am putting a water proof liner in one of my bags that i want to use as a diaper bag. If i manage to get all this done there are some other things I would like to tackle as well.

@justharrison lurking from group 3 but I check my BP at home - more of a data point, though, and even if it were high (hasn't gone over 140/90 which is the top of the normal for pregnancy), I think I would probably just mention it at my next appointment or send a note, not go in. This is definitely early for it to be over that number, but I'd expect that would just mean increased monitoring. If they're checking your urine at each appointment (mine doesn't do this anymore), they'd be testing for increased proteins. Are you at a higher risk for pre-e? Either way, that doctor doesn't seem to have taken it seriously and the focus on *why* you were taking your BP seems weird.

@ibanezstarburst I can't believe you didn't ask that parent if they were okay with you getting pregnant or when their ideal timing would be. So ridiculous of you.

@kvh22 I normally wouldnt have asked to come in but my eyelids and lips were swollen (like my eyes wouldnt open all the way) and so were my feet, legs, and thighs. I do have a heart problem but never have had high bp. The only reason i checked it was because all these symtoms started saturday night and i had a major headache. My bp stayed high all weekend and the swelling didnt go down at all. I felt like after 3 days and no change that it would be better to be safe than sorry. I feel like she should have spent a little more time, showed a little more concern, and had not dismissed what i was saying. All she said was at 24wks (when the pregnancy is viable) they would keep an eye on it and if it stays high then we will discuss delivering early.
 I think i am supposed to leave a urine sample everytime because they always asked when i go back to the exam room if i left one in the bathroom but no one ever told me to do this so i dont 🤷🏻‍♀️. 
Im still really frustrated about the whole thing because i never go to the doctor unless im in a lot of pain or things havent gotten better after a few days.
However since I did ivf this go around and was really nervous the main doctor told me i could come in for weekly ultrasounds until 12 weeks and then after that if something didnt feel right or i needed some extra reassurance then make and appt and come in get checked out/ have an ultrasound. He said his office will doing anything and everything possible for each patient to have a happy and stress free pregnancy. This is at such odds on how the junior doctor treated me.

ETA: sorry for such a long rant 😟

@ibanezstarburst That makes me so angry for you. I've been pregnant now three times as a teacher, and really just had one instance. It was Open House before the school year even started and the mom got all huffy and annoyed I wouldn't be there mid year (but I would come back). Uh, sorry lady, family first always and don't you dare question or be ticked when I had sex with a purpose.

@justharrison oh yea, combined with the swelling and the prolonged timeline, I completely get it. I'm super surprised they didn't ask for you to do a urine sample, though, but just make sure you do that on Friday and they should automatically be checking the proteins. Others with more risk of pre-e might have more insight, but has your BP come down at all? It's good that you can talk to another doctor so soon. I feel like people said it doesn't help if you start it later but you'd think they'd be able to recommend *something* like baby asprin or whatever.

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment is 12/17 which still feels sooo far away though I know it's getting close!

Rants/Raves?: It's almost Xmas! Rant: DH asked if we could get a fake tree... Um no... I grew up with fake trees and I was so excited when I found out that his fam was a real tree fam... Don't backslide on me now!

How are you feeling?: Tired and in a funk. Posted in randoms but just not really excited about anything other than the size of LO everyday. 

GTKY: do you have any creative projects that you're working on? Can be for the holidays, your LO, yourself or for anyone! Nothing in particular. Just want to gather a bunch of Xmas decorations and make it look like Santa threw up the North Pole in our apartment. 

@knarlytaurus I have always wanted to actually knit something. Thought of making a baby blanket for LO and starting it as soon as we find out the gender.

@justharrison I'm thinking I feel LO move on occasion too but I still haven't told anyone cuz I'm not sure and what if it's just gas... That'd be embarrassing. I'll be happy and hopeful that it's LO for the next couple weeks.

@kbeers13 we were able to move our appointment. So we didn't tell our family we moved it up and surprised them with the news! It's a boy!

They often have classes, especially for beginners, or can provide a bit of beginner help in the store.Too bad we don't all live closer - we could have a stitch and bitch! I love teaching people how to knit or helping people with knitting!

@justharrison do you make your own diaper covers? What pattern do you use?

@lappymom2019 we need pictures of your finished blankets once you get there!

@knarlytaurus i made the patterns myself but based them off of some name brand ones. For newborns the pattern is based off the the Totsbots teenyfit (but i altered it to have a snap down center for the umbilical cord. For the one size pattern, i based it off of the BumGenius 5.0. Both patterns i moved the pocket from the inside to the back waist band that way the inside is a smooth surface. My cousin said she would just put prefolds inside (not in the pocket) if she wanted to use it as a cover or just snap it around a flat. I was thinking i would try it that way too but if I didn’t like it I would just make some as covers instead of pockets.

@kbeers13 i was scared of that too!! I did tell my sister (she has 3 boys) she told me what i am describing does sound like the baby but she told me to give it another couple of weeks and i would be sure. But i really am thinking its him because i only feel it when i lie still for awhile

@kvh22 my blood pressure has went down but i noticed its still pretty high in the morning, gooes down towards thebafternoon and then goes back up in the evening. The horrible doctor from Monday canceled my appt tomorrow. They rescheduled it for mext Friday after i complained. I did call my heart doctor and explained what was going on and he has me coming in the the 21st but said if spikes again and stays high to call and he will get me in that day. So hopefully someone can figure out what is going on or it doesn't happen again and was a fluke

@knarlytaurus I didn’t think of that! I’ve just been trying to learn with YouTube tutorials. I’ll have to look into it tomorrow. There definitely is a Joann’s near me, so if they’re doing classes and have that sale on classes at my Joann’s that’d be awesome
