[Trying to Stay] Fit Mama Monday 11/26

Hey fit mamas - how are your work out goals going? Any wins? Anything you’re struggling with? Doing anything differently as we enter the holiday season?

Re: [Trying to Stay] Fit Mama Monday 11/26

  • Last week I really slacked on my goals. I did yoga maybe twice but not for very long. I didn't feel that great and was really tired most of last week and into the weekend. I did go Black Friday shopping Friday, so I got a ton of walking in and yesterday I was on my feet cleaning and grocery shopping. Hoping to just stay on track with healthy eating and getting some yoga in this week. As for the holidays, I'm not too worried about it. We usually just snack through Christmas and New Years so I'm not worried about eating too much at this point.

  • I definitely indulged in some dessert on Thanksgiving, but I managed to get all my preggo workout clothes dirty last week, which I am marking as a huge victory. I also managed not to gain any weight between my last two appointments, which is a win considering that I have already gained over 20 pounds.

My big goal for this week is to add in some weight training. I have been staying active, but my intensity is pretty low, so I’d like to add in some strength training to keep my muscles strong.

Also, they scheduled my glucose test for New Year’s Eve, so that will be good motivation to keep eating well through the holidays.

  • I literally did no workouts last week, although I did walk the dog daily (which I don't really count because it's 15-20 min 1-2x and I do that every day so it's not a push).

I did do about 15-20 min of cardio at home today! Every day is a new opportunity to try again, right? And I painted the first coat of the baby's nursery yesterday, so I kind of count that as arms and back, too.

I have my glucose test tomorrow so fingers crossed it goes well!
  • Last week was a total shitshow when it came to workouts. Got sick Monday so that meant no break-time workouts at work Mon-Wed. Did a "Thighs Before Pies" bootcamp with a local lady before heading out for the day of food and that was the only workout I got all week.
BUT today starts a new week and I got in the workout break with a short walk. As far as the holidays I'm really just going to try and keep doing what I'm doing with workouts and make sure I've got movement because it really helps me mentally as well.
  • I’ve had no energy for working out. I get home from work and between grocery shopping, making dinner, chasing the toddler and wrestling her into bed I’m exhausted by the end of the day. We walked at the mall and the zoo this weekend, if that counts...

  • @abbykwail good luck with your glucose test!

Actually did pretty good hitting my workout goals last week. Ate like crud, but trying to get back on the healthy eating wagon this week. Have my glucose test the week before Christmas... so I guess that’s my motivation to keep up the good choices!

  • I went to my weekly Fit4Baby workout today. I feel bad going only once a week, but I expense it through a work benefit and I ran out of $ on it. The other classes are also not as convenient, one is on Saturday when I prefer to spend time with my 3 year old and one is on Thursday at a hospital 1h away in traffic at 6pm, so I have to change into workout clothes in the bathroom at work (I went to it twice). But I'll try to amp my attendance in January once my benefit resets.
As for the workout itself, we had a partner circuit workout, with group exercises in between and "Would you rather" questions. Lots of fun! But I feel I'm having less energy compared to previous weeks and also felt a few aches and pains around the belly today. Let's see what next week brings!
