Rants/Raves?: I’m feeling nauseous, what else is new ha. But hooray for reaching 13 weeks!

How are you feeling?: Not the best :/ I’m really hoping I turn the corner soon...

I loved all the Clifford books! And Spot. A little older I loved Nancy Drew and the Babysitter’s Club. Goosebumps too.

  • Due date/W+D: June 3, 13W

Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon!

Any appointments? Questions?: I've got my NT Scan appointment tomorrow, then a follow-up with my OB on Dec 20th. I should be 16 weeks at that point. Also still waiting for my NIPT results! It's taking them forever!

Rants/Raves?: Well I rant all over the symptoms board about my MS. Really hoping that gets resolved in the next. I wish that I could rave about more, but my MS has me down.

How are you feeling?: A little tired, very nauseous so far

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: My favorite book was Barney Beagle Plays Baseball. It was one of my dad's favorite books when he was a kid, too.

  • @luckystar28 yyyaaaassss to baby sitters club later on! I also read vc andrews books at like 11. Super appropriate i know
  • Due date/W+D: June 3rd/13 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): kiwi

Any appointments? Questions?: My next appointment is this Thursday. I'm goingto see if they can work me in for an US since I decided to take the trip to CO.

Rants/Raves?: nausea is gone but the food aversions are still keeping me from eating a lot of things.

How are you feeling?: pretty good other than being tired.

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little? I can't think of any books that were my favorite as a child. That is bad. I don't really remember my mom reading to me. I know she did, I just can't remember it. My kids and I have story time after nap where we read a few of our books. There favorite is The Busy Bug.

    Due date/W+D: May 30th based on measurement / 13w4d

Baby is the size of a(n): Jalapeno

Any appointments? Questions?: Nothing right now. Next appointment is my 16w one on 12/19 (I'll almost be 17 weeks by then though, 16w6d)...that's also the day we start our 2 week Christmas break so for so many reasons I. Can't. Wait!

Rants/Raves?: Ugh...husbands. He worked all weekend so I flew solo with a sick 4 year old and a rocking 3 day long headache. Now he's not feeling well and is home on his normal day off and our son is with him since he's still coughing like crazy. This morning he was so grumpy and acting like he was super dad for keeping our son home and was telling me I was upsetting our son and should just leave for work. Dude...I didn't once complain about being alone all weekend with him and feeling like ass myself. I still cooked dinner each night and cleaned the whole house yesterday, managed to do the week's grocery shopping Saturday after he got home from work after dinner, etc. I hate how many act like it's end of the world when they're sick.

How are you feeling?: My 4 year old is rocking a cough and cold that he nicely shared with my husband and I so I'm a bit under the weather. I had a 3 day long headache over the weekend but that's going away now thankfully!

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: The Three Billy Goats Gruff. My mom used to read it all the time and use different voices for all the characters. It was the best!

    Due date/W+D: June 8 / 12+2

Baby is the size of a: small macaron

Any appointments? Questions?: NT scan tomorrow morning.

Rants/Raves?: Rant: I just found out there was "no result" from my Panorama/NIPT test due to insufficient fetal DNA cells, so I will need to repeat it in a week or so. It's probably just b/c of my weight and the fact that I took it before 11 weeks, but of course there's one study out there that showed low FF could mean a negative outcome so now I'm spiraling/more nervous (read: paranoid) than I probably should be.

How are you feeling?: Had a migraine all day Saturday and Sunday, but it's receded into a relatively mild headache today, so I'm grateful for that at least. Luckily, morning sickness is *knock on wood* mostly gone.

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: I remember really liking the Clifford books as a young child, too! Once I was reading on my own in elementary, I was a big fan of the Boxcar Children and Sweet Valley Kids series.

  • Due date/W+D: 13+3

Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon

Any appointments? Questions?: I had an appointment the day before Thanksgiving and got to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler which was nice :)

Rants/Raves?: Rant: I am cold alllll of the time right now. The only time I have been warm lately was in my grandma's house this weekend. She sets her heat on 76 degrees and I still had on an under armor top. I'm tired of being cold.

How are you feeling?: Cold. See above. And tired. I'm exhausted all of the time. I was never this tired with DS. I wasn't even this tired when DS was a newborn (and he was not a great sleeper by any means)

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: When I was in elementary school I really loved the Junie B. Jones series. I think I owned all of those books. I am sure my mom kept them and hopefully one day I can pass them on. When I was just learning to read I liked the Giving Tree. My mom would make me read out loud while she was doing other stuff and wouldn't notice if I skipped multiple pages at a time. I thought I was such a rebel.

  • @Erin1510 I hope that you and your family are all feeling a little bit better by now!

@runyogamom I really like the Giving Tree too. Although, I actually don't think I read that until I was older.

@ellem29 That's so annoying about your Panorama test results! I got my blood drawn for my NIPT back on Nov 8th and I still don't have the results. I can't imagine waiting anxiously for the results only to find out you need to do it again!
  • @chrssyms my son was back to preschool/daycare today. He’s still congested but the cough is under control. My headache is gone but I’m so flipping tired this week! Thanks for checking in!

  • Due date/W+D: June 3/ 13+3

Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon

Any appointments? Questions?: Appointment at 12+2 where I had blood drawn for all the testing...anxiously waiting for doctor's call; he said 1.5 weeks for gender results so hope to know by end of this week or early next week

Rants/Raves?: Egh. Thanksgiving was exhausting. I"m glad I got to spend time with family but I'm also happy to have my house back

How are you feeling?: Headaches, oh the headaches!! I don't know if it's pregnancy related or allergy related or both but man oh man I want to chop my head off some days. I'm trying hard not to take meds during my pregnancy but I've taken tylenol a few different times because I just can't function without something taking the edge off.

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: The Giving Tree!! I loved, loved, loved this book as a kid and now my son is really into it. I don't know what it is about this book that I loved so much, honestly. Reading it as an adult it's a super sad metaphor for parenting and giving everything you have to your kids (at least that's of course how I read it now) but I just loved it and I love that my son loves it too. For older books I was a Beverly Cleary; Ramona Quimby girl all the way!! She is by far my favorite literary character of all time.

  • Due date/W+D: June 4, 13+1

Baby is the size of a(n): post it note?

Any appointments? Questions?: next appointment isn’t until 21 Dec.

Rants/Raves?: I’m stuck in the middle phase where all my clothes are too tight but I don’t quite fit into maternity stuff. My belly is so uncomfortable and my breasts are ridiculous.

How are you feeling?: not better yet. I’m hoping that the magical 2nd tri allows me to start working out and eating and not missing work again. I’ve used so much time already.

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: I used to have a bunch of short fairy tales that had records to play along. Chicken Little, Red Riding Hood, Three Pigs, etc. I loved fairy tales.

  • @TJtheGoat I second the hoping 2nd trimester is magical. I would love to exercise again, too! And also the fact that my clothes feel tight, but maternity clothes are probably too much at this point.
  • I've been in maternity pants for weeks now. I am looking like I did with my 1st pregnancy at 17 or 18 weeks already. I've only gained 1.6lbs as of last week but my belly is too much for regular pants even with a belly band since they hurt when I sit down. Shirt wise I have a long torso so a lot of my shirts are too short and I need a longer or maternity shirt to cover up.

  • @Erin1510 I did buy the belly band. I think I will try that out today and see if it helps. Yesterday was torture. I wanted to just unbutton my pants at my desk but that seems a bit too much.
  • @TJtheGoat I'm right there with you being in between regular and maternity clothes. Luckily I work from home most days and I can wear leggings or stretchy pants which are still comfortable. I just know that once I start wearing maternity clothes I'll be in them for so long...I want to put it off as long as possible.
  • I have been in maternity jeans when i can for the last couple weeks. I am wearing borderline work pants today. If they werent grey they would look a bit more profesh but since I am heading to a movie from work and dont give an eff cause they comfy i went for it. Still need to find some decent work pants though. My stretchy pants i normally wear arent quite cutting it any more.
  • My pants aren't fitting so I have been wearing my maternity pants. My belly certainly doesn't look big right now. That's surprising since this is my 5th pregnancy.

I definitely felt some flutters this morning. I got up to get DD2 around 4 this morning. I brought her back to bed with me and laid down to nurse her. While I was laying there I felt some flutters. This I am sure of because there was no gas that followed the sensation. I'm excited though, movement is my favorite part of pregnancy.

Question: do any of ya'll choose a specific song to sing while your pregnant so you can sing it once they are born and they will recognize it? I did that last time and that song has always been an automatic soother for her. I plan to do it again but I haven't decided which song to sing for this baby.
  • @emeraldcity603 I'm a FTM, so I've never actually tried it before, but for some reason my husband and I really like Somewhere Over the Rainbow, so I think we will sing that and see if that works for soothing.
  • Due date/W+D: June 5, 13w

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon or daisy

Any appointments? Questions?: waiting on my Panorama results. I had my blood drawn last Tuesday so it’ll probably be a few days more, but I’m anxious!

Rants/Raves?: We closed on our (old) house yesterday. Bittersweet day. We close on our new house on Friday. There are 30 day occupancy clauses in both contracts. I’m hoping the sellers of the new house don’t use all 30 days because we need to be out of our old house 3 days before the end of the 30 days. This is making me nervous...

Also, I’ve had to switch my to maternity jeans from my last pregnancy, but they keep falling down. They’re too big. I ordered a new pair that should be here soon.

How are you feeling?: MS has been getting better, but then this morning I smelled the cat food in the garbage and it made me vomit. I gagged smelling DS’s hot dog for lunch. Boo.

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: I loved lots of them because I’m a reader, but one I remember was The Stinky Cheese Man and other Fairly Stupid Tales. Made me laugh. Oh and I was a huge fan of The Babysitter’s Club and Boxcar Children.

That is the song I sang DD2. They each have their own little song but I was religious about singing that while pregnant with DD.
  • @emeraldcity603 I'm pretty sure I felt flutters the last two nights too when I was really still laying in bed after I woke up in the middle of the night (thank you insomnia). I was surprised to feel it in week 13 but then remembered my midwife telling me you feel the baby earlier on in 2nd+ pregnancies. I hope I can feel it more regularly now!

  • @emeraldcity603 @Erin1510 I also think I’ve been feeling some flutters!
  • @emeraldcity603, @erin1510 & @catmommac that's so awesome you guys are feeling flutters this early! Sometimes I think I might, but I just tell myself I'm probably making it up because I'm a FTM and it's probably too early. I really feel like that is going to be one of the most exciting parts of pregnancy for me. It'll make all the MS feel worth it!
  • @chrssyms I always wait until I know for sure. I don't want to be daydreaming about baby flutters when what I really felt was gas. I have had phantom flutters/kicks that feel like the real deal so it can be hard to decipher sometimes.
  • Yeah I know I’ve had a lot of gas. Sometimes the sensation is different enough and I’m a STM and wonder could it be? I usually think “nah” but I know eventually there will be no mistaking that foot in my rib. My DS was a mover and groover. Never had to worry about kick counts.
  • Due date/W+D: 5th of June/13w 2d

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon

Any appointments? Questions?: NT results yesterday and came back at low probability but going to have NIPT done today so we know for sure. Next scan isn’t until January and the OB appointment will be a few days after that. We did buy a foetal doppler though because nobody will let me listen to this heart beat so I’ve taken matters into my own hands 😂 my uterus hasn’t come up yet though so just waiting for that to happen.

Rants/Raves?: Rant: I’ve gone up THREE cup sizes already! I was a G cup before getting pregnant so I’m pretty upset at how big they’ve got already! I’ve got one that is comfortable for now, but will be too small to be a nursing bra so I’m going to have to do some hectic online shopping to find a bloody J cup 😭 Rave: my partner and I are slowly rebuilding our relationship after my first trimester hormones and his reaction to them destroyed it, we’re both seeing psychologists which is really helping. He’s starting a  Also rave, I have a job interview this afternoon!

How are you feeling?: I am so tired, cold, hungry but the thought of food makes me feel sick, and sore! I’m already in a sacroiliac belt and if I don’t wear it I can barely walk. I was supposed to go to a music festival this weekend but I really don’t think I’ll be able to stand up and dance for 6 hours straight :( I’m also having trouble peeing (not UTI) so I’m getting really annoyed at that

GTKY - What was your favorite children's book when you were little?: I loved all books!! I’d read series after series of books, would just sit in bed for hours and hours reading! I think my favourites were chronicles of narnia, Harry Potter, anything Enid Blyton or Rhold Dahl.

Ive also been feeling flutters but from like 9 weeks so I highly doubt it’s baby. They are getting more frequent now though, so maybe! I had an ultrasound yesterday and it was moving around like crazy so who knows haha

  • Last week I really thought I felt flutters, they were different than normal gas bubbles. I thought I was crazy for really thinking it was, my H didn't believe me, but now I'm thinking maybe. Eh, I guess even if it's just gas I'll enjoy it, lol.
  • I'm telling my boss in about an hour. Really nervous about what she's going to say! Especially because I'm hoping/planning to take the full 12 weeks off (since the daycare we'll be using won't accept babies below 12 weeks, I don't really have much choice in the matter) that are allowed with FMLA. Wish me luck!
  • @ellem29 I hope it goes well! I told my boss back when I was having really terrible MS. Don't you think people should be (maybe operative word is 'should') more accepting of the fact that parents need to take maternity/paternity leave? Since I'm a FTM, I don't know, but I would imagine you need time to just heal so that you can come back refreshed and be productive. Also, if we need to take care of the babies so that they can grow up and be productive members of the workforce too!
I'm not a lawyer or HR specialist, but don't they have to let you take your FMLA?
