What's your dirty little secret?

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds we've just been taking stuff out of the clean hamper as needed. It's so bad right now with me on modified bed rest. I could fold it but when I have the energy, I need to make myself food. Hoping the morning sickness subsides soon as the house has completely deteriorated. There are workout clothes in the clean laundry hamper and I have been on modified bed rest for over a month now...not working out.

I'm 15 months PP and made lactation cookies yesterday. DD was a little fussy and weird while nursing on Tuesday so I convinced myself my supply was dropping. Then she's been fine since but I just wanted them so bad and hadn't made any in at least 9 months.

  • @kvh22 yeah my second FFFC was going to be that for the entire year and a half I was in nursing school I never folded our laundry. We had clean hamper and dirty hamper.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds Clean laundry stays folded in a basket pretty much until I need the basket to do more laundry. It’s gotten to be a way of life. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@chloe97 Yesss! That’s also my FFFC haha

I have STILL been eating Halloween candy for breakfast, and usually for a late night snack. This has been going on for about a month now. 😳 The good news is, I’ve almost gone though all of it (and practically by myself), so it’ll at least be out of the house.

We've had our car less than two years.  It's already on my bad side because the salesman didn't include something we specifically asked for, so it had to be added after market and I don't like it.  But today on the way to work, the electronics all stopped showing so I couldn't see how fast I was going, the music, my gas, anything.  They came back on, but it was scary as all getout.  DH just wants to get the car looked at, but I'll be shopping for cars online today.  At least it'll look like I'm working.

ETA: @eatinwatermelonseeds We are more likely to see a unicorn in our house than laundry being folded and put away the same day it's done... sometimes even the same week.

  • @mrsdee15 Thats crazy.. and scary! What kind of car do you have?
  • @megsb615 It's a Mazda 6 - I had a lot of electrical problems with my prior car too (Honda Civic), I guess I just have no tolerance for it.

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I have 2 baskets to go through myself, but I have no idea where to put it all. He says I need to throw away more clothes but he doesn't understand how painful that is.

  • Ok but aren't y'alls clothes wrinkly if you don't fold them? Do you iron shit or what? Like I mean, my stuff would legit look like those broomstick crinkly skirts from the 90's if I didn't fold it.

  • @mrsdee15 I understand! My car had an electrical malfunction a few years ago where it wouldn’t let me start my car. It took about 2 weeks for them to figure out how to fix it. We’re looking at getting a midsize SUV at some point soon, and I’m SO looking forward to it.
  • @sleepy33 lol you would think! DH is trained to know what comes out to get hung up right away, or at least folded in half at the bottom of the basket. I work from home most of the time so no one cares if my sweats are wrinkly (although...they don't really get wrinkly anyways)  :D

    Babysizer Cravings Pregnancy Baby Tracker

  • @sleepy33 we rock the wrinkle look. Or throw it back in the dryer while we're getting ready 😂 then it's wrinkle free and warm.
  • @megsb615 We are hoping to get something similar!  But maybe not for some time.  Researching cars feels like it takes so much.

Ah, see my dryer is in the basement and hellll noooo I ain't goin down there in the altogether to de-wrinkle something. I always forget most ppl have laundry conveniently accessible lol.

  • @sleepy33 lol I'll say our laundry is conveniently accessible but it's stacked in a "closet" on the porch of our apartment (right off the living room)  :D

  • I used to be pretty decent at meal planning and doing weekly grocery shopping for our family. I don't think I've made a shopping list and bought a full week's groceries at the store in like 2 months. In my defense, I hate food right now.

  • It is a snow day, which means we only have about 100 out of 700 kids in the building. A teacher walked by my desk earlier and said "It must be such a good catch up day for you!" Ha. Ha. Ha. I've done next to nothing all morning.

  • @sleepy33 I feel your pain on the washer and dryer being in the basement. It makes it even worse that our bedroom is upstairs. For some reason, I didn’t think 2 flights of stairs one way to do laundry should be a deal breaker. 🤦🏼‍♀️
  • I have a tri-level house with laundry room in basement and bedrooms on upper floor. Yeah, my laundry does not get put away a lot. The next time I buy a house, there is no way I'm putting up with this BS again.

  • @mrsdee15 Researching cars is such a pain. I think we’re pretty decided on a Highlander. They have a great safety rating, and Toyotas have a good reputation for being reliable. 🙂
  • This morning my MIL offered me either a peanut butter toast or cinnamon toast. I knew she meant either, but I said, "Oh wow, both? Thanks!" and skipped off to work. Hahahah.
  • @misskimsue Girl same. We took out a tiny stand up shower in our bathroom, and I’ve been bugging Husband to get a contractor over to see if it’d be possible to put a small stackable washer and dryer in. I neeeeed that to happen like ASAP.
  • I promised DH I would clean the upstairs, but now I'm upstairs and I'm laying in bed contemplating if I'm going to get up or just roll over and nap.
  • I didn't wear make-up for a week after my surgery, so my coworkers would have more sympathy during my recovery. No make-up = look sick/tired (for me). Even though I actually felt ok.   *Also make-up for me generally means just mascara, so you can see my ghost lashes.

  • @lovelybabybumpz This is probably a weird question, but do you have a favorite mascara?  I can't find any I like, and I have super blond lashes.  Without mascara I don't look like I have eyeballs.

  • @lovelybabybumpz I did that when I had a bad cold one quarter in case I wanted to skip out of class early to rest. But it worked a little too well. Pretty sure the instructor thought I was dying. "Omg are you okay?!" "I'm sick" "yeah, no kidding! You look like you feel AWFUL!" And then started asking other students if they see it too and turned it into a lesson on visual assessments 😭😂 I went home early just for my bruised ego.

My drugstore go-to is Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black. I also like benefit they're real, but usually only use that when it's a free sample with other purchase :)
    @eatinwatermelonseeds
Usually I get so annoyed when people comment that I look "tired" just because I didn't feel like wearing make-up. Like, how 'bout we don't comment on people's appearances. But in this case it definitely works to my advantage.

  • @lovelybabybumpz I usually wear a full face of makeup pretty much every day. In a year and a half that was the ONLY time I ever didn't wear makeup (I mean, can you blame me? 😂). Apparently I look dead without it.
  • This morning I took a family size bag of white cheddar popcorn from our schools snack supply as my own personal bag. It's the second time I've done this (because I love it on a normal day, and now I can't stop eating it). I told the director and told her I'll replace it (just like I did last time). She just snort laughed at me.

...I've eaten over half the bag since this morning.

  • @imrachellea I have been eating so many plain Pringles lately- they are so satisfyingly salty without being greasy, which is one of the only combos working for my stomach right now. I was at Target the other day and they were on sale 4 for $5 and I was like, "I have no idea if this is a good deal, but now I have an excuse to by 4 of these things!" White cheddar popcorn sounds amazing...

  • We have a hand held steamer to get those wrinkles out, since we're bad at letting them sit in the basket.

  • @misskimsue We have lucked out to have main floor laundry in every house we've owned.  Our first house and this current house are both bungalows and the laundry room is just off the bedrooms but the house in between was a two-story plus basement.  I thought the main floor laundry would be handy because it was quite close to the kitchen and had a laundry chute so that seemed super easy and accessible, but I much prefer having the laundry right next to the bedrooms.  I can't tell you how often the basket of clean clothes waited at the bottom of the stairs to go up, or piles of dirty clothes waited upstairs to come down (because guess what, the laundry chute was built too far back and I couldn't reach across the washing machine and all the way to the back of the wall cut out where the clothes fell so we never ever used it).  Now the laundry room is directly across the hall from the master bedroom.  I don't even put clean clothes in a basket, just carry them across the hall and dump them on my bed.  Basically they have to be folded and put somewhere before I go to bed that night so I'm way better at completing the task with this set up

  • I DO wash my feet in the shower. As in, I pick each one up, lather with fresh soap, and rinse. I'm not sure if this is more of a confession or an UO, but they were talking about how most people don't on the radio this morning morning, so I wanted to post before I forget, lol.
  • Laundry on the same floor as the bedrooms is key. When we moved into this house, we had main floor laundry, right behind the kitchen. It was such a pain. When we renovated this past summer, we moved it upstairs and it is heaven, especially since we also finished the attic for our bedroom. If we had to lug our laundry all the way downstairs from the attic to the old laundry... I would just never do laundry. (Not that I do it much now.)

  • We were adamant we would only have one floor so laundry is on the same floor.... So we bought a tri-level with laundry on the first floor and bedrooms on the top 🤦 obviously not great at sticking to our demands 😂
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds Aren't you in Seattle area? I live in PNW too and the fact is we just can't get everything we want within a reasonable budget most of the time. There are a lot of things about my house that aren't ideal, but it was what we could afford for our first house and we still feel lucky to own a house at all in this market! Just saying, I'm sure you did the best you could in picking the right house for you under the circumstances. But, also, prepare for lots of laundry piled up in basement.

Does everyone not do this?! My mind is blown. I, too, am a foot scrubber.

  • I was just posting about our various car seats in the other thread.  My FFFC is that regardless of whether this baby is a boy or a girl they are getting the hot pink Clek Foonf that we currently have as their first convertible seat and IDGAF.  That sucker has a 9 year expiry and is not even 5 years old yet.  It won't work for DD2 much longer because as per my post in that other thread both of my kids so far have outgrown their car seats way early due to very long torsos so I can't give the new baby the neutral black Britax seat because it has a higher max shoulder height limit.  I think DH might have a minor fit over this, but he's even cheaper than I am so once I remind him of the insane cost of these car seats I'm pretty sure he'll jump on board with using it.
