Edit: unbelievable. Ask a question about someones experience, and I get pounced on to stop asking for advice and see a doctor. Judgmental little. I have seen a doctor. All she would do is a urine test. Other places I've been too would only do a urine test. And no other tests have or would be done. So... I don't know why I even have to explain this. I asked for
personal experience... not hashing out my personal life or decisions. Or trying to avoid seeing a doctor by asking about other peoples experience. Which if it was, would be my prerogative since no one knows my situation.
This is crazy. The one place I truly thought I would have support.
And again, many women have not had a positive result until 20 weeks... all I was asking if anyone was in the same boat.
**figuring out how to delete this.
Re: How far along were you when you finally tested positive? Also, flying at 15/16 weeks??
If you didn't start testing until recently, it is possible that you were too late for an at home test...my understanding is that at some point for some reason when HCG is high enough, you will no longer test positive. But if you've been testing since 8 weeks or earlier, that shouldn't be the problem.
Seriously call your doctor please. You could have a giant cyst in there ready to erupt and potentially impact your future fertility or some other serious issue that has delayed your period and messed with your hormones but nothing to do with pregnancy. Most doctors have an initial pregnancy visit around 8 weeks for confirmation and dating purposes so I'm not sure what you're waiting for and why you haven't set up an appointment yet if you are so sure you're pregnant.
If you are pregnant, there's no reason to be concerned about flying at this stage. I've flown at 6 weeks and 18 weeks. And really, the only reason most airlines restrict it in late pregnancy is because they don't want you going into labor in mid-air. It's not an issue of potential harm to the baby or you (outside of the risks associated with delivering in mid-air without medical professionals around.)

At 12 weeks you should be able to see something on an ultrasound or even hear a heart beat with a Doppler. I assumed you hadn’t seen a doctor yet since most 12 week pregnant women will have had 2 appointments confirming the health of their pregnancy. Did they confirm your pregnancy at the doctor’s with blood work, urine sample or ultrasound?
If you are pregnant and as far along as you think it could be the Hook effect, like I said in my previous post. Did you actually read any of these posts?
If you are 12 weeks along, it's absolutely not too soon to tell. You'd be able to see the baby on an ultrasound and likely hear the heartbeat with a Doppler. If you truly think you're pregnant, you need to ask for them to do blood work or an ultrasound to confirm it. Did you tell them when your missed period was? Are your cycles typically regular? Because any legitimate doctor is not going to tell you at 12 weeks that it's too soon to tell.
And no women don't go to 20 weeks without a positive test. I'm sorry but that doesn't happen. Please look up how HCG in the body works. If the doctor said the urine test was negative than you are not pregnant. I'd recommend calling and scheduling an ultrasound. If you are infact pregnant you'll see your baby on the screen.
I'm sorry if you feel jumped on, or attacked. But what you're saying makes no sense at all.
Best of luck.

Please take some some time to read legit scientific materials about how it all works. I recommend you start with reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. If you have told your provider that you have gone this long without a period or a positive test and they’ve done nothing:
GET A SECOND OPINION. YOU NEED PROPER MEDICAL ATTENTION.
ETA: Contrary to popular belief, real support doesn’t mean just blowing smoke and spitting out platitudes. “Flying is fine! You’ve got this mama! Congratulations on your triplets!” That will do nothing for you when, at best, you are crushed after months of thinking you were pregnant only to find out you never were or, at worst, finding out that your amenorrhea was caused by a medical issue that needed to be treated and has now caused irreparable damage.

I feel like the random posters of TB need to understand this: a truthful answer that you don't want to hear is not bullying/unsupportive/mean/[insert negative adj. of your choice here].
If your doctor refuses to do blood work or ultrasound to confirm what you suspect, or further testing to diagnose your amenorrhea, find a new doctor. By now you should have turned a test, it is not too early, and no one here can give you a personal experience that is going to help you. A doctor can help you.
Something is wrong if you haven't had a period in 12 weeks and no positive HPT. You're likely not pregnant. Flying is safe regardless. Please seek medical attention.

With the symptoms and timeline you’ve given, you should be able to either confirm the pregnancy or investigate why you aren’t getting a period but feeling the way you are. You can turn a blood or urine test when you have symptoms, especially if weeks of symptoms have passed. If a blood test comes back negative you are not pregnant. There are rare false negatives with blood tests (another hook effect), but you don’t want what causes them.
Off topic: I have a friend that didn't know she was pregnant until she was 4 months along, but it was also a mirena failure pregnancy so she wasn't really expecting a period or to be capable of getting pregnant so she hadn't been taking hpt's.
I know you want specific answers from women who've experienced this, but the reason you're not getting that is because no one here has! I won't say your experience could never happen and that you are pregnant, but it would be incredibly, incredibly rare.
Frankly, even if someone or 5 someones come on here and say they've experienced the same thing you have and were pregnant and had a healthy baby, that doesn't change what's happening to you and what's going on or not going on in your uterus. Only your own medical people can help with that.
Please get a second opinion. You could also just go to one of those boutique ultrasound places and ask for one, too.
I want to know who these “many” women are who have not had a positive until 20 weeks. Maybe you should ask them? I can guarantee you won’t find one here.
Either way, you received great advice here to seek medical attention as to why you haven’t had a period in over 12 weeks. There are many other serious reasons (besides pregnancy) why you may not have had a normal cycle.
OP, time to face the music and climb out of the denial pit you are in. No positive test = not pregnant. Call your doctor.
