Baby is the size of a(n): Plum(a small one, I assume) or a ripe apricot.
Any appointments? Questions?:My first MFM appt. is tomorrow. I think I'm going to ask about NIPT since my brother is Down Syndrome and I'm high risk.
Rants/Raves?: I'm boring. I don't have much to complain about or be super happy about these days. Haha
How are you feeling?: I'm just feeling tired. I haven't been sleeping well, I wake up every night at like 2 am with leg cramps and then I have a hard time falling back to sleep. It's a bummer.
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? I'm going a different direction with this question... I think everyone should have to work retail/food service at least once in their lives. I feel like that would improve how people treat retail workers & food staff. It's a pet peeve of mine when people are unreasonably upset with a worker for something minor that is probably not even in said worker's control.
Appt is not for another 3 weeks- time is going so slow.
Rants/Raves?: wish we could have weekly appts
How are you feeling?: feeling better everyday- still get a little nauseous in evenings- wake up with sore hips from sleeping. Need to get a better pregnancy pillow.
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? I agree with @chloe97 I think everyone should work in some type of customer service role to understand the other side of things.
Any appointments? Questions?: not for two more weeks
Rants/Raves?: DH and I fly out for a conference in Florida on Friday morning and then are going on short cruise. DS2 had a stomach virus yesterday (but is feeling great today). I've been Lysoling like crazy and was diligent about hand washing and keeping the kids apart. I'm praying no one else gets sick. I really need this vacation.
How are you feeling?: currently I've got a headache. Still a little nauseated and tired, but I feel like its slowly improving.
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? When I was a kid, we adopted a highway every year for 4-H (cleaned up all the garbage lazy inconsiderate people throw out of their cars). I think if everyone had to pick up nasty trash on the side of the road, littering would be greatly decreased.
Any appointments? Questions?: Had a routine appointment on Monday. As a STM, I'm already in comfy maternity leggings or jeans, but is anyone in maternity tops yet? I go back and forth between wanting to play up the bump and wanting to hide it (work from home mostly), but hiding it is now making me look frumpy.
Rants/Raves?: DD slept until 6:15 this morning instead of the 5:15/5:30 of the past few days!
How are you feeling?: So close to the end of nausea. Next Friday is 14 weeks which is when it ended last time.
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Kind of different than those above but I thought of this before reading others so I'll stick with it: Travel outside of the country/continent in which you live/are from. I do think retail/food service are likely great experiences although I only worked 9-5 office jobs over the summer...Weekends were sacred growing up as we would go up to our grandparents' lake house with the whole family. I had so many friends who work(ed) both of those (including DH and we knew each other in HS) that I *think* I get it and am very understanding. My mom also semi-retired and now works at Target to keep busy and get some extra money + health insurance I feel no desire to pick up trash on the side of the road but will also stick trash in my pocket and/or carry it to a trash can as opposed to littering. I don't think that's a requirement to learn not to litter but it would definitely help some people for sure.
Baby is the size of a(n): plum (sidenote: isn't this sort of a redudant question since we're all on the same week?)
Any appointments? Questions?: Two weeks until my next appointment. Cervical length check via ultrasound and OB appt. Just hanging out til then, hoping all is ok!
@kvh22 not in maternity stuff just yet...I work at home though so can get away with looser shirts and leggings most days. I think maternity clothes are more flattering typically though, I've just been too lazy to break open my storage box and go through it all, plus my bump is veryyyy slight right now.
Rants/Raves?: At the end of last week, I got my NIPT results back - low risk and a girl! We were convinced it was a boy so we were shocked. It's set in now though, super exciting and it's nice we already have so much girl stuff.
How are you feeling?: Pretty OK. Towards the end of the day, I feel so bloated and full, I'm barely hungry for dinner. Also just super tired.
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? I agree on traveling and on working in the service industry...can't think of anything more important to add to the list
ETA: @fatmonica fingers crossed everyone stays healthy! DH and I just booked a short trip away over the holidays. That time is so needed. Hope you enjoy it!!!
Any
appointments? Questions?:Just had my appointment on Monday - Panorama came in low risk and its a girl!!
Rants/Raves?: Family giving me unnecessary drama, still super tired all the time and wish I had more energy to do things.
How
are you feeling?: Tired, constantly waking up in the middle of the night and unable to go back to sleep, constipation is still an issue, low energy.
GTKY: What is
something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Put themselves first instead of others, even for a few hours.
Baby is the size of a(n): Large plum! Not just a plum, but apparently a large one! @bluesky24 I sort of like seeing what different people (or whatever they use to track it) say. Like this week we seem to be plum, tennis ball, or lemon. The babies are all approximately the same size ofc, but I like seeing. And then if I don't like the fruit my tracker says, I can choose a different one mentally. Like the week I didn't like prune and decided I like kumquat better.
Any appointments? Questions?: Had a twelve week on Monday with an ultrasound. I've talked about it in a few threads, but u had a transvaginal ultrasound for the first time and it was less uncomfortable than I thought it would be but not particularly comfortable. Also o thought we'd do an NT scan but according to the OB the practice doesn't do them because they aren't as accurate as other tests. But now I'm conflicted about other testing.
Rants/Raves: This ones sort of both. Husband has been super stressed and unhappy at work for a while and he's been waffling about leaving for at least a month. He's also been putting out feelers about other jobs but doesn't have anything lined up yet. He put in his notice last week and his last day is the 16th. It's great because I think his (and then by extension my) stress levels will go waaaaay down and his mood will go way up once he's done. And it already has even this week. But it a tad worrying because while we have money saved and we're not hurting financially, we'll be living on one income until he finds something else. The timing is less than optimal because of the pregnancy, but he really really really needed to do this for his mental health. And of course we discussed and agreed with this. But it just feels like MUCH to pregnant me.
How are you feeling?: Looking forward to the second trimester and promised magical disappearance of symptoms. XD But not really bad. I've had some loose stools this week (aren't I supposed to be constipated???) so that's the current trial. Also, the heartburn / acid reflux and fatigue has continued.
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? I feel like I agree with everyone already! Definitely working in customer service / retail like @keighty80 said (and the similar things) and traveling outside of your state / country etc like @kvh22 said. Also I'd say doing something completely for yourself. Not because it's what's expected of you or what other people think you should do. It doesn't have to be something big, and there's a time and place for it. But I think it's a good idea.
I hope everyone stays healthy, @fatmonica! Lysol away!
I'm not in any maternity clothes yet @kvh22, but I think I'll have to bite the bullet soon. The bloat is making pants hard especially at the end of the day. I'm not really having bump / blump problems wotj my shirts yet, but I'm definitely having break problems. So far I'm managing by wearing things I used to wear buttoned unbuttoned over a tank or shell, but I think a few sweaters will be needed soon. Someone posted in the maternity clothes thread about things that can do double duty postpartum and when breastfeeding, and I think that's brilliant. I'm a FTM so I'm appreciating all the wisdom of people who've been there done that.
@kayforever I only got one notification so you can tag as many times as you want sounds like your husband made the right move for everyone. I would also be nervous about him leaving without something lined up but some things are more important than a paycheck. Hope he finds something new and better soon!
Any appointments? Questions?:I had my NT scan on Tuesday and my 3 month appt with my OB on Wednesday
Rants/Raves?: I call myself hiding my pregnancy at work. Well not so much hiding it but I haven't told anyone. Why the hell this lady I work with gonna holla out "Is that a baby bump I see" Omg I wanted to punch her in the face. I just looked at her and kept walking. Like bitch if I haven't told you im pregnant, why would you loudly ask me that.
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling pretty good but Lord knows the gas is becoming a lot. I mean this gas pain hurts so bad. I be in tears.
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Volunteer with people with special needs, homeless and also mental health. Because you never know what others go through until you take a step in their shoes. People are so judge mental and it drives me crazy.
