How many kids do you already have? Ages? 4 year old DS and 22 month old DS
How are your other kids doing? Both doing great, so far we've managed to avoid illnesses since back to school, so fingers crossed that continues!
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Rant: This time change can suck it! 5:30 is not an appropriate wake up time!! I submitted an application to a school last night for DS1 who will be starting Kindergarten next year. I can't believe he is old enough to go to elementary school next year! It's gone by so fast, but I love seeing the little person he is becoming!
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? We haven't told them yet. I don't think DS2 will really be old enough to understand until closer to the due date when he will be 2.5. DS1 would totally get it and be excited, but he also can't keep a secret to save his life lol! My first appointment is December 5th, so I think we will share the news with him after that! Sort of creepy, but he actually told me about two weeks ago he wanted the baby to be a girl, and he wanted to name her Lucas. I told him there was no baby, I didn't know I was pregnant yet, and he replied "I know, they take a long time to grow in the belly"!
@nolemomma14 Oh my gosh, your sweet psychic son Will you consider the name??
Current W+D and EDD: 3w+4d EDD July 19
How many kids do you already have? Ages? 1 DS age 4.5
How are your other kids doing? He's doing well, 4 is a hard age but also a really amazing time for learning. He takes so much initiative when he's interested in learning new things, I couldn't be prouder.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I am still trying to wrap my head around this because I have wanted it for so long! I cannot believe that a year from now I will be a mom of two!
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? He doesn't know yet but we talk about our future babies all the time and he is really invested in the whole process. He even has chosen some toys for them to have and says they can sleep with him if they get sad. MH and I were talking about doing a reveal in DS' Christmas stocking. I'm thinking maybe an ultrasound photo of we have one or something else. I would tell him know but his concept of time is still pretty far off and he would probably ask me if the baby is coming yet, every single day.
Current W+D and EDD: 5 weeks officially today, EDD July 9th.
How many kids do you already have? Ages?: I have a DS who is 2 years and 2 months.
How are your other kids doing?: SO. MUCH. ENERGY y'all. I can't keep up lately.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions?: I guess this can fall under "concern", but I'm just finding it hard to relax with this pregnancy (TW***) after a loss in July. It's so hard to not overthink every little symptom/loss of symptom. Also, I lost my job last week due to this pregnancy (I was on a 6 month probation, I just started this position) so now I'm a SAHM and honestly, it's been a little bit of an adjustment, but I'm enjoying the extra time with my son.
How will you tell your children you are pregnant?: We keep asking DS if he is ready for a little baby brother or baby sister, and he says "Uh-huh".... although at 2 years, I don't think he knows what's actually coming. It will be fun once I start to show though and once baby starts to move and kick so we can share with him.
@mamanbebe I feel like we have to consider the name right!?
@mamahmh2 big hugs, I'm sorry for your previous loss. I hope you have a H&H 9 months ahead of you. Adjusting to being a SAHM was difficult for me, but once you find your routine, it's pretty great!
@nolemomma14 I'm with your son, I've never heard Lucas on a girl but I really really like it! And thank you - being a SAHM is the hardest job I've had by far, but still the most rewarding. I'm looking forward to getting that routine down soon!!
@nolemomma14 that's so sweet! @mamanbebe yes! I can't believe it either. I can't wait for our family halloween costumes. @mamahmh2 I'm so sorry about your job. I've been a SAHM for about 2 years now but I have an online business. It was an adjustment after I quit my job. Now I can't imagine working for someone else right now.
Current W+D and EDD: 4 weeks + 6 days. EDD July 10th How many kids do you already have? 1 Ages? 6 How are your other kids doing? DD is doing good. She had a dentist appt today and she has her first cavity. It's super tiny like pin size and it's on the side of her tooth. I'm actually surprised we made it this far without them. She has another appt this month to get it filled. Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I just can't believe we having another LO. It probably won't feel real until our first appt. GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? We haven't told DD yet (bc she can't keep secrets). How many kids do you already have? Ages? 4 boys, ages 8,6, nearly 4, and 2.
How are your other kids doing? So much better now that it isn't raining 24/7. 4 boys cooped up in a small house isn't fun.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? We have gotten so much rain lately that our whole property is nothing but a gross muddy mess. Our boys are loving it.... I despise laundry so I'm in hell lol.
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? We haven't told them this time. **TW** we had a loss last month and it hit our oldest pretty hard. We'll tell them after our first appt.

How many kids do you already have? Ages? 2 boys, 9 and almost 11
How are your other kids doing? My boys are awesome and so much happier since we moved to a new town from the remote village we lived in. They have friends again, love school again, and get to actually do things instead of staying stuck in our house all the time.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Just always nervous about another loss, and a little worried about the weight I have lost since getting pregnant. Not that I don't have it to lose, but it weighs on my mind.
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy We won't tell the boys until we make it past the 1st trimester. We told them early with my first loss of 4 a few years ago and they were devastated. They have been hoping for another baby (they REALLY want a sister) for many years. I don't want to get their hopes up and then disappoint them. As for including them, in any way they want to be included.
@asupernovablizzardstorm Thank you I'm curious, what does your online biz consist of? If you feel like sharing.
@nopegoat I know your loss was hard, and I can't imagine how difficult watching your other children handle that must've been. I'm really hoping you have good news to share with him this time around.
@indulgentgypsy Have you lived in Alaska all of your life? I'm curious how different things are up there, especially with the switch from a remote location to a new town. Also, I'm sorry to hear of your loss as well.
We moved to Alaska a little over 2 years ago. I was teaching in remote native subsistence villages on the Kuskokwim River. These are fly in fly out villages. There are literally no roads to get to the villages. While the village experience was something I would not trade, there were many many down sides. One being I suffered 2 losses in the 2 years we were there and had virtually no access to medical care. We had to charter a plane and hope for good weather to get to the nearest real "city" with a hospital. Last December when I had a loss I had to wait 6 days for a plane. If it had been more serious I could have died. If that had happened, my family would have been instantly incomeless and homeless as my husband could not get work in the villages and our housing was provided as part of my salary with the school district. And this particular district would have kicked them out immediately. Added to that my children were bullied and physically assaulted non stop. Hit, kicked, punched, pushed, threatened with knives and rusty screw drivers, and told by the locals to "just take it" because they were not native and it did not matter how they were treated.
So obviously we noped the F out of there. Now we live on the Kenai Peninsula. Still rural, still Alaska, but on the road system with good doctors, hospitals, stores, restaurants... My husband and I both also work part time at a local restaurant - he as a cook, me as a waitress, as well as me working full time as a teacher. It has felt like the universe was putting us on this path to fulfill our dreams the whole time.
@nolemomma14 if you have a girl you have to name her Lucas now!
@mamahmh2 **TW** after my loss last month I am over analyzing every little thing too. H and I talked a bit last night and we both admitted we are afraid to get too excited. It's such a mind fvck. I have been a SAHM for about 7yrs now. There's definitely a huge adjustment period. ❤️
@indulgentgypsy MY GOD! That is way intense. I am so very happy that everything ended up being okay with your health despite your loss. And that your kids are happier and thriving in your new environment. I can't imagine how hard that must've been for all of you! Being close to medical resources is something I think I have taken for granted, and your story is a reminder to remember to be thankful for the little things like that. I know it has to take a big stress off of you not having to charter a plane!!! Thank you for sharing with me.
@nopegoat You're right about the mind F! I completely understand what you mean about getting too excited. I'm almost afraid to jinx it even though logically I know that can't happen. TW*** With my last loss, my husband had told everyone I was pregnant prematurely out of excitement.... this go around, we are being much more cautious as it's devastating when people ask what happened, or say "I thought you were pregnant!"
How many kids do you already have? Ages? One son, just turned two last month.
How are your other kids doing? He is doing great! He is so smart and sweet.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I'm trying to sneak out of work early today so I can go vote. Also trying to coordinate daycare pick up for my son since I'm worried I won't be done in time.
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? We told him in August when I got pregnant the first time that there was a baby in my tummy. We didn't say anything when I lost that pregnancy in September so we just brought it up again when I found out I was pregnant again. He is pretty little thankfully so we didn't have to explain it all to him.
How many kids do you already have? Ages? 2 girls, oldest is 4 youngest will be 2 in February
How are your other kids doing? Oldest is in preschool and super laid back.. youngest is trying to kill me
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Just anxious for my following up beta tomorrow
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? oldest heard us talking about it and is so excited.
@annewheeler2 your girls sound like my boys haha! The oldest is so sweet, and the youngest is my wild child! He has given me a run for my money since he was born!
@nolemomma14 my oldest does that creepy/sweet knowing when someone is pregnant thing! She’s been right including gender for at least five that I can think of off the top of my head! She told me this week that “when God decides it’s time, I’m going to have another little sister.” So we will see...
current w+d and edd: um... 5ish weeks? I’m not certain. Edd somewhere around July 3 based on ovulation, July 6 based on LMP.
Kids already/ages: 3kids, two girls and a boy, 4, 3, 19months.
How are other kids doing? They’re ok. We’ve got some special needs going on so there’s always something with them. We had a nice walk today, enjoying the fall weather.
Rants/raves/concerns/questions: nothing I can think of this week!
How will we tell kids/involve them in pregnancy? We will probably have to wait to tell them until we’re ready for others to know, as they’re not going to keep a secret. (Except for DS who has no words yet. I told him before I even told DH 😆) My OB is really happy to have them attend appointment later and they have loved that in the past, so hopefully that continues to work well for us this time!
How many kids do you already have? Ages? 2 kids. 3.5yo boy and 2yo girl.
How are your other kids doing? They are doing good. My daughter is in the beginning of her terrible twos and my son is hopefully on his way out of the treacherous threes! Haha. They are pretty awesome now and actually show affection to each other which is a really sweet sight to see.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I just want to be out of the first trimester and in the clear! Even though I’ve had 2 healthy normal pregnancies it doesn’t make the worrying any easier.
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? We haven’t told them yet since we haven’t told family yet and they are not the best at keeping secrets but when we tell our families on Thanksgiving we will tell them too. They will be with me at every appointment and I think they will love seeing their little brother or sister on the ultrasound.
How many kids do you already have? Ages? 2 year old DD
How are your other kids doing? She is doing wonderful. She's mouthy and sassy, but I love it.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I'm scared this time. I nearly died the last time. I know logically that what went wrong last time had more to do with a horrible OB causing me to change OBs at 36 weeks, so the doctor operating on me didn't know or the back story.
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? She knows as much as a two year old can understand. She hit me hard last Saturday and I told my husband "she hit me in the uterus." She found that word to be funny to say and started saying it. So I told her I have a baby in my uterus.
How many kids do you already have? Ages? 3 boys, ages 8, 6, 2
How are your other kids doing? They're all great. My 8 year old is testing my patience lately, but all in all they're great kids.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? None at the moment
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? They don't know I'm pregnant and won't for a while. They're pretty observant so will probably at least suspect it before we actually tell them. As for how we'll tell them, I won't give that much thought until we know for sure this one will stick.
**TW** The older two know about our last loss and if I can avoid that again, I will.
She’s very energetic the last week which has made me even more exhausted! She’s starting preschool part time in January which I think will be great for us both!
Rants/raves? Concerns/questions?
Morning sickness with a toddler! The absolute worst. I’ve sadly been allowing a bit more tv time than usual because I just don’t have the energy most days. I can’t wait to get out of the first trimester and hopefully start to feel more like myself.
How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy?
I haven’t told her yet! I’m waiting until 12 weeks. I’m thinking of bringing her to my scan and telling her while we look at the ultrasound so she can actually see the baby herself!
How many kids do you already have? Ages? We have one DD who is 9 months old. I wanted to have kids who were close in age like my brother and I were.
How are your other kids doing? Shes learning a bunch! No teeth yet, which is great as I’m still breastfeeding. Rather, trying to breastfeed. My supply is tanking.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? My only fear is a miscarriage. My friend just had one at 11 weeks, but didn’t find out until after her 13 week appt. I’m heartbroken for her.
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? DD probably won’t understand until I’m farther along. And even then, she may not understand until the baby is here. I would love to include her in our announcement somehow!
How many kids do you already have? 2 girls Ages? 5&7
How are your other kids doing? They have no idea what’s going on yet. We haven’t told them. I can’t wait to tell the baby that she’s no longer the baby!! She’s going to be excited!
Rants/Raves? It’s been almost 6 years since I’ve experienced first trimester symptoms and I forgot how exhausted I get. Between work, the girls, and life, I just want to sleep!
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? We will tell them in our Christmas card announcements. We want to wait until we are sure we have a sticky baby before telling them.
How are you including them in your pregnancy? No idea yet. I plan on making some nerd onesies for the baby, so I might be able to get the girls to help with it!
Kids: I have one three year old girl. She was also supposed to be a July baby, but came 6/23.
How they doing: My daughter is full of sass. She is in preschool and loving it. She keeps us on our toes for sure.
Rants/raves: nothing much this week. Although I’m not thrilled about the idea of all the morning sickness this time. I didn’t have any last pregnancy and was hoping to be that lucky again.
GTKY: I haven’t told her yet. We talk about babies a lot though because my cousin just had another. She keeps asking if we can get one, so hopefully she will be excited when we tell her. I’m worried about telling her too early and having her not fully understand that we have to wait until July.
Current W+D and EDD: not exactly sure... mid-end of July?
How many kids do you already have? Ages? two boys ages 2 and 9 months
How are your other kids doing? No complaints here! DS2 is still waking up at least once during the night. And like @jenniferjoy37 I am still breastfeeding and praying my supply hangs on!!! I still nurse my 2 year old also, only once a day now, but will be so sad if my 9 month old's breastfeeding journey is cut short due to pregnancy.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Just freaking out a little at the idea and logistics of 3 so close in age! But so excited too! I hope being close in age they will be best friends
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? I'm excited for my 2 year old to understand it a little better this time! They will both be coming to the majority of my appointments with me. We won't tell my 2 year old until we are ready to tell other family just in case he spills the beans!
How many kids do you already have? Ages? 1, a DD who is 3.5.
How are your other kids doing? Awesome. We are currently moving and I think the packing boxes are making her a bit emotional, but she's hilarious. Started preschool this year and plays 3 year old soccer which is just chaos. Having a blast.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I'm feeling a lot more symptoms with this pregnancy that I did with my first. It seems like that's normal, but I'm wondering if that means I'll have morning sickness this time around, as I did NOT with DD. Also, I did have GD with DD and I'm hoping not to with this one.
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy? We have been asking our DD if she'd like to have a baby brother or sister and she seems psyched. As we get further along we will tell her it's happening and do a lot of reading/Daniel Tiger watching to prep.
I broke the news to mine yesterday and they were excited but my mom immediately says "I WANT A LITTLE GIRL!" This was one of the only reasons I did not want to tell them this early. I know I cannot control her feelings but holy moly, grow a filter, lady. I would be thrilled with another little boy or a little girl. I could ramble about this forever but maybe I can just meditate on it today instead
@mamanbebe haven't told mine yet but preparing for interesting reactions as this is our third babe in 3 years. Kinda dreading the looks. We also have two boys so I'm sure I'll be getting the girl comments a lot too when in reality I truly don't have a preference... like you would love another boy or a girl. Sorry your mom couldn't sensor herself
@ccmama3 I hope it goes over ok for you. I wish they could all just be supportive of our choices and excited for whatever the outcome is.
By far best part of our conversation was the absolute look of horror on my mom's face when I told her I was going to use a midwifery group and a birthing center this time.
@mamanbebe i have two boys and I’m already dreading all the comments about hoping baby is a girl this time. We haven’t told the grandparents yet. Thinking about maybe thanksgiving, but our family doesn’t even know we were thinking about a 3rd, so might just wait until after our first appt. No one will be expecting an announcement from us anyways
We are waiting till after my first appt to tell everyone. MIL already knows because she was so mad that we weren't coming for Thanksgiving this year and we were hoping it would soften the blow.
**TW**We had a loss last month and we had told everyone we were KU before then. **End TW ** So many twin girl comments because we already have 4 boys. Not looking forward to that again.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@mamahmh2 She is prone to catastrophic thinking and tends to think that the worst case scenario is going to happen, even if it's a 1 in a million chance. So although she supports many natural approaches to healthcare, she gets anxious about the unknown and sees medical intervention as a necessity to save everyone from certain doom. I used to share that way of thinking, so I recognize it in both her and my sister, but I'm putting in a lot of effort to let go of it.
@nolemomma14 I wonder if parents of girls deal with the desire for another gender from outside influences as much as parents of boys. It's really astounding to me. My mom really treated it like a devastating bit of a news that we were having a boy and continued to doubt the accuracy of our anatomy scan until birth. It was insane and so disheartening.
@nopegoat I'm so sorry for your loss last month. The twin girl comments really blows my mind, why cannot family just be happy and supportive without pushing their weird gender fantasies?
@mamanbebe I’m sure parents with girls get the same thing! My SIL & BIL have two girls, and people are always asking them when they’ll be trying for that boy.
When we found out we were having a second boy, people were instantly saying maybe the next one would be a girl. He wasn’t even born yet, and they were already talking about a potential third baby being a girl! I’ll be thrilled either way! Idk why people seem to think my experience as a mom will be less if I don’t have a daughter
@mamanbebe my MIL did the same with DS1. Her excitement instantly changed when she learned he wasn't a girl. Such an odd thing and makes you feel crappy! I do think those with girls experience the same though. I am pretty sure we are going to be team green this time and I'm so excited about it!! No one will be disappointed when the baby arrives!
@ccmama3 we are leaning towards being team green as well! This will be our last baby, and I don't want to spend the last half of it listening to people comment on "oh another boy" or "finally a girl!" I also want to go med free for this labor and delivery, and hope the excitement of finding out the sex of the baby will be good motivation to get through it!
@nolemomma14 I've gone into both labor and deliveries aiming for med free and have yet to do it, so I have that goal too! I think being team green would be great motivation!

@asupernovablizzardstorm I love the idea of a big sister box!
@indulgentgypsy I saw a huge change in my boys when we moved too! ❤️

@mamahmh2 that's exactly what happened with us. H went crazy telling everyone. So hard.

July 18th
How many kids do you already have? Ages?
2 girls, oldest is 4 youngest will be 2 in February
How are your other kids doing?
Oldest is in preschool and super laid back.. youngest is trying to kill me
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions?
Just anxious for my following up beta tomorrow
GTKY: How did/will you tell your kids you are pregnant? How are you including them in your pregnancy?
oldest heard us talking about it and is so excited.
current w+d and edd: um...
How many kids do you already have? Ages?:
I have one daughter who will be 3 in February!
How are your other kids doing?
By far best part of our conversation was the absolute look of horror on my mom's face when I told her I was going to use a midwifery group and a birthing center this time.
**TW**We had a loss last month and we had told everyone we were KU before then. **End TW ** So many twin girl comments because we already have 4 boys. Not looking forward to that again.
