I had a great mom moment this evening. I bought my son bath bombs at a craft fair this weekend and tonight I told him not to use his bath salts *smh* bath bomb just didn’t come to mind. He was so confused.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
I agree with the viability party. I was reading about the nicu at the hospital I plan to deliver at, and they start care at 23 weeks if need be! I can't believe we're almost there. I know technically viability isn't until 24, but it's amazing what medical advances can do. Caramel apples sound delicious.
I didn't even know that viability chart was a thing!
My random.. MY HUSBAND COMES HOME TONIGHT!! ! Can y'all tell I'm excited? He has only been gone about a month but communication has been crap so I've barely heard from him. I'm so ready for him to be home. So I may not be on the board for a few days. Haha
I didn't realize there was a point when viability was measured either. My sister had her twin girls at 28 weeks. Two months in the NICU plus they went home still hooked up to monitors, but now they're really happy healthy fourth graders. I guess I've had 28 weeks in my head as a milestone because of that experience!
I had asked my midwife about BH and what to do if I have preterm labor and she pretty bluntly said there's nothing they can do until 24 weeks. I've got less than a month to go!
@valentynsi Yay!!! Happy homecoming! Even short trips deserve celebrating!

@bdesterhouse and that’s kind of where I was going with the question I asked. Do I call their office or just go straight to L&D? But she kind of waved it off like “there’s nothing we’d be able to do at this point.”

If you know they’re contractions and since we’re past 20 Weeks, I personally, would go straight to L&D. If I was unsure, then I’d call my OB, but her office is connected to the hospital. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t waste precious time calling.

So nice to see a chart that lays out the percentages for chances of survival of preemies. My brother was born at 30 weeks, my husband was born at 34 weeks, and though I wasn't a preemie, I also didn't make it to my due date at 38 weeks. So while I know most FTMs go *past* the 40-week mark, I half expect to go early. Fingers crossed LO stays in there, though!
@bdesterhouse, yeah, this was a few appointments ago after I had a lot of BH's due to dehydration and just wanted to know their preference.
@mayoduck you might be surprised. My mom went early with all 4 of her births so I was preparing to do the same and DD1 came 10 days late. Unless it's an issue like HBP or something, I don't know if that would necessarily be genetic. Time will tell, I hope your LO keeps baking for awhile though.

i love that viability chart, thank you for posting! i will be saving that on my end for my peace of mind, but we are all almost there! My mom had me at probably like 36-38 weeks. i'm not sure exactly cuz she wasn't the "big on keeping track" mom, but i was supposed to be born in September and was born 8-22, and she said i was a preemie....but with my last, i had him scheduled at 39 weeks. My OB says my canal is too tight to progress in labor so it is what it is...thats my expectation this time around, but its nice to have a sheet to keep track of...i definitely was religious with the *TW* mc probability one as well.
@meggyme yeah, I could see it going either way so trying to mentally prepare for either scenario! I am also hoping to not go late 1. Because LO has been measuring 8 days ahead the whole time and I'm a small person and 2. My birthday is 6 days after LO's due date and I selfishly would like to spend my birthday at home, giving him snuggles. 😊
I have been having the WORST babysitter luck lately. On Saturday we had a formal event that I had helped set up centerpieces for and arrange baskets for an auction. 2 1/2 hrs before our sitter is set to arrive she texts me that a) her great-grandmother just died and b) her burial is today. Um... that's a pretty quick turn around.
And now my baby sitter who was pretty sure she could sit for me tomorrow night has to work and none of my other sitters, and now 2/3 of my friend's sitters are either not answering or aren't available. They are all millenials or younger, so I know they've checked their phones since last night and just haven't bothered to respond.

I was up most of the night throwing up. I’m thinking it was reflux related, but I have some red spots around my eyes now due to the puke fest. Boo. I did go vote though and my polling center was next to a bakery so...donuts.
@swanbrooner I love the part about donuts haha! Not so much that you’ve been sick! Hope you get to feeling better soon!
@Kenneylynn3 It is so frustrating when others have to give their opinion about our bodies because we are pregnant. My boss made comments after Christmas break when I was “finally” showing that she thought I was just making it up the whole time (I wasn’t due until the end of March and have a long torso so it wasn’t showing much until January). Irritating!
@Kenneylynn3 I feel like people always think you’re either small or big for your stage of pregnancy... No one ever says “you look like your right on track.” Sorry for the comment, especially since you’ve been dealing with on-going nausea! @swanbrooner donuts make just about everything better! @meggyme boo for non-responsive babysitters. That’s so frustrating!
@Kenneylynn3 The size comments get old fast. I’ve been told I’m “huge” already but I’m comparable to my last pregnancy and overall was small the entire time. This morning a random stranger gave me a “whoa!”. Yes, I’m pregnant, thanks! Current random...I am sick again! I hope it’s just a cold. I never get sick. I’m going to start posting signs at my office to stay away if you are sick! I’m sure I got it from a client.
Had a new experience as a mom today ... it was all I could do to not break down in tears! I definitely found a new respect for my mom! Today DH got up at 4 am to make it to work by 5. I got up at 540 am to get myself ready and woke DS up at 615 to get him to the babysitter before my 45 min commute to work. I couldn’t find anything to wear and was feeling awful about myself. Then I get to my sons room and he’s burning up. I think of it for a minute but DH says that he’s warm a lot in the mornings first thing. I get him dressed and try to get him something to eat (but he’s not interested... I think it’s strange but again I have to get going). We make it 10 mins to the babysitters and what do you know she checks his temp to find a fever of 101.1. Cue me feeling like a horrible parent for not checking before we left the house but ugh I didn’t really have time! So I go back out to the car, call into work, go home, write lesson plans, send them in, and get DS some milk. DS watches catboy and drinks his milk I close the computer (thankfully!) and DS pukes all the milk all over me and him. I clean it all up the best I could (we have a new washer/dryer being delivered tomorrow) so this cleaning up involves me literally hand washing things while entertaining my 18 month old. Get him a doctor appointment and start to get ready again to leave the house. When as we are getting ready to leave he pukes again ... all over me, my gym shoes, it splashed on his coat, etc. I wanted to cry real tears. While I start cleaning up the kitchen he’s getting in under the kitchen sick (which I had open because the disinfectant is in there). I had to put him in his high chair to get everything cleaned up and get myself (and him) changed (again). I was almost in tears thinking how will I ever do this with two?!?! In the end we finally made it to the doctor to find out it’s a virus. It was all I could do not to lose it so many times today... moms of 2 or more please tell me all your secrets!
@ashley14598 I'm so sorry that is a terrible day! I hope your son starts to feel better soon. With two, you divide and conquer the best you can. Some days it just doesn't work, and they suck, but those are the exception. I promise you'll do just fine. 😊
@ashley14598 hope your son gets better soon and that you were able to do something for yourself today!!
At my doc appt yesterday we talked about weight gain (I'm 23 lbs up in week 23, lol but only kind of) and she said a lb a week is fine from here out. Then she told me her first pregnancy she gained 10 extra lbs because brownies (part of why I love her!) ... And now all I can think about is brownies!
@abbykwail@lelkcot@Kenneylynn3@buckeynut05 Thanks everyone! He fell asleep last night before 6 and it’s 6:20 and he’s still sleeping! Hopefully he can sleep it off and will be better today! Thankfully my father in law watches him at our home on Thursdays so I can go back to work today. I just needed to vent and feel “normal”. Thanks for letting me do that
@ashley14598 Kid sick days are so hard. Hugs girl! Yesterday was a frustrating day but they won't all be like that. I hope your DS feels better soon and you stay healthy!

@ashley14598 I hope your son is better. Those days are rough for sure. (I hate projectile vomit days!) But like @BuckeyeNut05 said, you just divide and conquer as best you can. Those days tend to go by quickly because you're so busy! Life goes fast with 2!
Apparently pregnancy has me eating like a college kid... lunch included a fire hot munchie mix, something I definitely haven’t indulged in since college! But it sure was delicious!
Re: Randoms 11/5-11/11
-Tomorrow is going to be a long-ass day.
-I've had a caramel apple every day for the last week, and still not sick of them.
-Speaking of food, I love WalMart pickup.
-Can we throw a "viability" party as people cross that threshold? Some of you must be getting close!
