I don’t think this thread got started this week and I’m selfishly starting it - so how are you feeling?

Re: Symptoms - November

  • I’m constantly hungry... I’ve been trying to slow the weight gain a little since it was a bit much in first tri, but the constant hunger has not been helping! Feed me ALL the things!
  • Loading the player...
  • I’m jealous of your hunger! Basically nothing sounds good to me, ever. I haven’t gained any weight yet (which is totally fine since I am overweight to start with and I’m worried about GD since I was close with DD), but I generally love fall flavors and am missing them this season!

My biggest thing is sciatica pain and random cramps in my legs/feet. Very thankful the headaches have become infrequent since those were daily for a while.

  • Tired, hungry, thirsty. I have been clinging to a couple of my low-rise pants but I think I finally have to admit my belly is now big enough that I need maternity pants or to switch to dresses. 22.5 weeks and I have gained about 10lbs and it is all in front of me.
  • Hungry and tired. Sometimes I'm beyond cranky. I noticed this morning that my rings are very tight on my fingers, so I'm having a minor freak out about that. Last time I had to stop wearing my rings around 36 weeks, so this seems too early for that. It worries me because I had high blood pressure last time and swelling is a symptom. I'm hoping it is just my lack of good water intake and the coffee I had yesterday.

  • Headaches almost daily and I was hanging out in the low weight-gain club until this last week when I suddenly gained 3 lbs. I really need to watch those Halloween cookies haha
  •  this pregnancy has been so different from my first, i didnt have many symptoms the first go round but boy am i feeling them 9 years later LOL. SO got me a pregnancy pillow last thursday and it has been a BLESSING. i didn't realize how bad my sleep was until i was able to get comfortable and have support with the pillow! it hurts getting out of bed in the morning, but its just these creaky old bones, and my loosening joints. other than that, random RLP if i move too fast. i think i may be getting restless leg bc at work (i sit all day-customer service), i randomly just wanna kick my legs out, bc they hurt or just feel restless...but not sure if thats the actual thing im going through.
  • So glad I’m not the only one feeling hungry and thirsty!! I’m super nervous about GD again I barely “failed” the test last time and with how thirsty I am I’m super nervous because I know that can be a symptom. Other than that I’m having consistent  diarrhea ugh! Not sure if it’s related to IBS or pregnancy. Also having random RLP issues that cause quite a bit of pain along with a definite growing belly!

I'm starving and thirsty all the time. However, I can only seem to drink water if it's ice cold. Acid reflux and heartburn are at a full speed with no mercy as well. Tums and milk are my best friends. I feel absolutely huge as well came in handy for the extra warmth on Halloween though 😁😂
  • Seems like daily headaches here. Also swelling in hands and feet! My rings still fit, but harder to take them off at night. I swear my feet are bigger already! I didn’t think this would happen till later on, but even my workout shoes (1/2 size bigger) feel like they barely fit. I can’t wear leather boots for five minutes without pinching.

  • Some days I have bad headaches.  I have chronic swamp crotch which is just gross.  At least the lightning crotch seems to have subsided.  Some swelling in hands and feet.  Random but intense indigestion.  Insomnia.

My right leg has very painful varicose veins.  They start at my inner thigh where one ruptured with my last pregnancy and spider out at my calf.  I get sharp pain down that vein when I stand.  The front of the same goes numb (superficially/ just the skin) when I'm walking.  I had vein with issues with dd2 but not this early.  Twins is a whole new assault on my body :-/.

Eta:  I had included a picture but it uploaded huge.  No One needs to see that, lol.

  • I’ve had some fierce indigestion and heartburn off and on. I talked with my midwife about it and she suggested I try taking a probiotic and/or drinking a small glass of kefir every day. I’ve been doing both and was shocked at how quickly I felt relief!
Of course I still get that ‘too full’ feeling sometimes if I eat too much at once (which is just a result of having less room) but I feel like my digestion overall is much easier and more comfortable, and I no longer get that acidy/sick feeling after eating the ‘wrong’ foods. Fingers crossed that this continues to be helpful and I can stop buying Tums by the armload!

  • @hlmtnmama Kefir is my new pregnancy miracle drink. I have a small glass every night before bed and it completely saves me from heartburn!
  • Grumpy. Tired. Annnnnd eating a ton. Not because I’m really hungry, just because I.CANT.STOP. It’s like all of the self control I had pre-pregnancy is out the window. As a result, my backside is expanding in tandem with my belly!!! :/ Little bit of low back pain going on also.
  • The last two times I cut my nails, they were fine at first, but a couple days later, they hurt really bad like I cut them too short. Super random but I have to assume that it's pregnancy related lol.
  • My nausea is back and I am trying to avoid eating to help it. I gained 13lbs in the 1st trimester doing that! I am up 20lbs now and really don't want to gain much more! I am also still tired and VERY unmotivated.
  • @Shelbyville30 I’m definitely with you on my self control being shot - I’ve been killing some Halloween candy this week... it’s not good!
  • @lelkcot overindulging on Halloween candy over here too! Definitely going to have to take some (but not all...) in to work to remove temptation!
  • @mayoduck I took half in last week and probably should bring in the rest before I eat it all 😳
  • @lelkcot yesss! I finally brought the extra candy into work today. That didn’t stop me from eating some ice cream that was left in the freezer, but it was a start. Baby steps. :p
  • We only got three groups of trick-or-treaters this year so I have waaaay too many treats to tempt me around the house. In fact, I’ve been going to bed with a small pile of candy on my nightstand 🤦🏽‍♀️ You ladies that are bringing the excess to work are smart! I should probably do the same...

Just popping in to say I finally know what y’all talking about with lightening crotch. Holy mother! Stopped me right in my tracks, and kept coming in waves for a good 10 minutes. Fortunately I was home so just lay on the couch until it passed but if it happens in public I’m gonna look like a crazy person grabbing my crotch mid-stride 😂
  • Apparently the hormones decided to do something new this week and I’ve been extra emotional. Have cried this week for the first time in months, and teared up several times listening to the news /reading things.
  • Has anyone else been experiencing Braxton Hicks, i have a had a few times lately where it seems that the bottom part of my stomach, where the baby is gets really hard....and its pretty uncomfortable. I saw that the baby sites have been saying it can start around this time...just curious lol
  • @lelkcot Me too! I was so sad and weepy last night for absolutely no reason. Literally nothing happened. I was like this a lot during my first pregnancy. This time around I have been more angry than weepy, but the tears were flowing last night!
  • @zionsmama85 I have, but mostly just when I haven't been drinking enough water. I had some last night and I agree, they don't feel good.

  • @zionsmama85 add me to BH group as well. I had them starting at 20 wks with my first and 16 wks this time. Dealing with them month after month gets old! I just try to remind myself it's making me ready for labor. Keep hydrated and keep your bladder empty, that helps me!
  • The ability to sleep on my back again is definitely high up on my list of things I look forward to post partum. The hip pain from side sleeping is really hurting my sleep. The pillows make it better but I still find I have to rotate every hour or so. Anyone have other tactics they have found to ease this discomfort?
  • @zionsmama85 I’ve been having BH here too... they are definitely uncomfortable!
  • Hey! You all are catching up with me in the symptoms dept! I'm not celebrating your misery, but I have been lurking a lot on Feb symptoms board to find others going through what I am. Terrible heartburn no matter how little I eat or what measures I take to combat it, the inability to get comfortable at night, either side aches and I absolutely cannot lay on my back for more than a moment, sleep only comes in spurts, and Braxton hicks when I take a walk!! :/
  • @zionsmama85 Yes I've been getting braxton hicks for a couple weeks now on and off. Mostly in the evening though. With my first pregnancy I got them pretty frequently throughout third trimester. Just stay hydrated.

  • @mayoduck, ugh yes. The only thing that helps me is having a pillow (actually, two in one pillow case!) folded in half between my knees. I think I've said this before, but we came home from the birth center with D, and I crawled into bed and carefully laid on my back and exclaimed to my H about how wonderful it was! And then I rolled over to my stomach and exclaimed about that. It was so great!
  • I feel sad for you guys with terrible symptoms still! I hope the nausea and bad headaches go away.

ive had some headaches, not as bad as a few weeks ago, but i use essential oils to help with them since Tylenol doesn’t work (I know some oils are not recommended for pregnancy so I’ll be careful!) I’ve had Braxton Hicks since like week 10 ish with both pregnancies.. they are stupid.

Othet than that i just feel super pregnant. I’ve had some abdomen pain and thought I had a yeast infection (which I also do, constantly. Yay me) and turns out baby is just kicking me so hard it’s making my uterus sore. He KILLS my sciatic nerve when i lay down and my sleep has been terrible too.

I wanted to say, I got the Burt’s bees belly.butter to help with my stretchy burning sides and it’s helped SO MUCH. Idk if it’ll help me not get stretch marks but taking away the burning is already worth it. It’s unscented so i put some lavender and peppermint essential oils in it to help with sleep and it’s been wonderful.
  • I loved the Burt’s bees belly butter because it was soothing, but I still got a ton of stretch marks lol. Fingers crossed for you! I am trying an earth mama lotion this time that has a nice orange scent.

  • The carpel tunnel is horrible!!! I am wearing a brace basically all the time now. Especially when I sleep. Other wise I don't get to sleep because the numb hand keeps me awake all night.
  • It's always comforting to see others experiencing the same things I am. Even though this is my 4th baby, the symptoms are almost always different each pregnancy. I've got major carpal tunnel going on too, the sciatica comes and goes and, for the first time, I'm getting a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. I can feel my little girl's movements all day long now, though, so I will take all the accompanying annoyances in stride. For now, lol.

  • @valentynsi Ditto on the Carpal Tunnel! Mine’s been getting worse the last few days. I have it in both hands and arms so it’s pretty much impossible to sleep comfortably on either side for long. I have been wearing braces at night, but I'm
strongly considering getting one for my right hand (which is the worst) during the day.
  • I use Burt's Bee butter for my itchy tummy too. I'm not convinced there is any product that effectively combats stretch marks--just good genes and bad genes aided by good and bad diets--but it does alleviate the itching, which is a nice benefit. I already have stretch marks on my hips just from rapidly expanding hips at puberty so I will use the belly butter but expect to be embracing my new tiger stripes.
  • @valentynsi @purpleteacher82 I had Carpal Tunnel symptoms in the late first trimester. Somehow, it didn't wake me up but I had recurring dreams that my hands were horribly blistered and felt like they were on fire. I didn't even realize what it was until I felt it while driving during the day and it clicked that "Oh! I'm not *just* dreaming that!" Not sure if it's related or coincidence but my symptoms went away and haven't returned since I started sleeping with a body pillow between my arms and legs. Worth a try if you're not already doing so?
