Hello ladies! I hope you’ve all had rather uneventful pregnancies thus far. I think some of you know my luck hasn’t been as such, but I’m doing ok, all things considered. AND still wearing all my regular clothes, woot woot. I have the perk of being kind of tall, and I have a long torso, so I carry my pregnancy really well and don’t show for a long time, which is ok by me.
I know we’ve done little intros on that other thread, but if I’m being honest, there’s no way I can remember all of those, so I thought a little Q and A might be fun for us to have.
1. Is this your first pregnancy? If not what number will this be?
This is my fourth pregnancy, and if all goes well will be my third child. We had a loss earlier this year.
2. Do you like your care provider?
Thus far, I haven’t seen her very much. I see a midwifery practice and they are SUPER booked, and that honestly gives me a little pause. When I have my first appointment on the 6th I’m going to plainly ask just how many ladies are expecting at the same time, and decide from there. I don’t need to be the center of attention, but I like being seen and heard, you know?
3. Do you have a full time job?
I am a domestic engineer, and proud of it. Plus we have a mini farm that I manage and run while my husband is at work. I also homeschool my two other children, and love it. Before babies I double majored in music performance and music education. It was a dream of my to work for a record label and recruit bands, etc. I like how life turned out much better than I had planned.
4. What foods are giving you life right now?
I am... uuuuh, not having the best time with food. I’ll have random cravings, but I almost always get sick every time I eat. COME ON SECOND TRI!!!
If you think of any more fun questions, please feel free to add 😊
Re: Plus size mama check-in (10/29)
2. Do you like your care provider? I do so far. I switched to this practice about a year ago. My practice only has one Dr. and he retired about a month ago so it is a new provider. I met her last week at my US and she seemed great.
3. Do you have a full time job? I do, I work full time as a advocate at a Child Advocacy Center. We interview childhood victims of maltreatment (specializing in sexual abuse) for law enforcement. I assist with setting up resources, medical advocacy, and legal advocacy.
4. What foods are giving you life right now? I am pretty sick so I am pretty much just going with the flow. I am trying to eat a lot of small meals but its hard.
this is my first. Scared but happy. Just generally HAPPY.
2. Do you like your care provider?
The first US was kind of cold and clinical. No welcome, congratulations, I’m dr so and so and this is what’s happening. I got handled instead of cared for to get a shot of Spud.
3. Do you have a full time job?
I am the Tech Relations Assistant at a company that specializes in finding freelance AV techs for live events.
4. What foods are giving you life right now?
I’ve been a vegetarian for 13 years and all I want is a Baja style fish taco. I am DYING for one.
@battleangel I’m sorry you didn’t have a pleasant First US. However, your wording is very triggering and quite disturbing.
@battleangel I really truly appreciate that
eta: also, very happy to have you here.
Just because you feel a certain way, it doesn’t automatically give you the right to act however you want. People need to also consider compassion, understanding, and empathy about different perspectives, especially ones as serious as the one implied above.

I’ve participated in 8 walks/rallies for various causes. I’m not a fan of responding to ignorance with silence.
A1: Yes! 36 years old, and it was a big surprise!
2. Do you like your care provider?
A2: I love my gynecologist and she actually knew the OB I’m transferring care to, and said he’s great. I have a friend who recently delivered with him - I’m very hopeful I like him too!
3. Do you have a full time job?
A3: No - I have an Instagram account that has provided me with fun money for the last year, but am not the wage earner for our family.
4. What foods are giving you life right now?
A4: scrambled eggs, plain Greek yogurt, apples with cheddar cheese, chicken salad in low carb wraps, frozen sugar free pudding cups, kale salads, hot peppermint tea
A1: Yes! 34 years old. We stopped preventing a baby to see what would happen. Apparently babies happen when you stop BC lol and apparently I was really faithful with taking it. We were thinking it would take months but after one brutal period off the pill for first time game on...
2. Do you like your care provider?
A2: havent met my OB yet but she was recommended to me by 2 people.
3. Do you have a full time job?
A3: full time job in health care part time job at home based business.
4. What foods are giving you life right now?
A4: scrambled eggs with cheese, quesadillas, grapes, cream cheese, cheese cheese cheese. I know its a no no but we had hotdogs last night and they made my day lol
not a fan of goat cheese. but who knows! lol. My husband has seemingly given me full control over super options. Last night was KFC. love their 5 dollar fill ups.
This is my fourth pregnancy, I've had one miscarriage back in 2014, a singleton in 2015, twins in 2016. Unfortunately we lost one of twins due to kidney failure, so if everything goes well this will be our fourth child(third living).
2. Do you like your care provider?
I'm currently on the hunt for one. Mine retired right before we found out I was pregnant again. Hoping to like my new one when I do meet them though.
3. Do you have a full time job?
Yes. I'm a night auditor for a hotel in my area. It'll be interesting to see how this works out.
4. What foods are giving you life right now?
I have hardcore food aversion. Everything makes me want to puke.
1. Is this your first pregnancy? If not what number will this be?
This is my 3rd pregnancy, *TW* had an MMC at 11 weeks in december '16, then DS was born december'17
2. Do you like your care provider?
I do... my GYN is in a practice with his wife, another Dr and a FNP... the 3 Drs are all OBGYNs and when you're pregnant you rotate through seeing all of them so that no matter who is covering the hospital, you're not delivering with a Dr you don't know... the Dr that ended up doing my CS was the one I liked the least, but now I am thinking I will schedule my RCS with him instead of my regular OBGYN.
3. Do you have a full time job?
Prior to having DS last year, I worked full time as a DSA, which is basically a caregiver for people with developmental disabilities in a group home setting... since coming all back to work in March, I work 20 hr/wk.
4. What foods are giving you life right now?
Celery, today scrambled eggs and ketchup sounded really good 🤷♀️
This is my fifth (and final) I have a 16, 15, 13, and 11 year old
2. Do you like your care provider?
I'm not sure yet. There are 4 doctors there and they like you to see all of them which is different for me. This is my first time with a new OB. My old OB who was there for my other 4 pregnancies are 2 hours away from me now so it's an adjustment for me, we will see how it goes.
3. Do you have a full time job?
Nope, I am a stay at home mama/wife
4. What foods are giving you life right now?
It actually varies for me. One day I will be dying for a cheeseburger and the next day I have to have a salad, lol. I am almost 10 weeks now and have been blessed without morning sickness thankfully, but I've been trying not to eat everything in sight, lol. I would say a definite steady craving I keep having is milk though.
