Weekend Randoms 10/27-10/28

What’s going on this weekend ladies? Doing anything fun or exciting?

Re: Weekend Randoms 10/27-10/28

  • We are going to friends house for dinner tonight. Tomorrow I’m going to hang out at home working on some craft projects and watch football!
  • Loading the player...
  • I have barely moved from the couch all day. Letting the TV entertain my 2 DS, since this nor’Easter is keeping us indoors today. Maybe I’ll be more motivated tomorrow (likely not, since I work an overnight shift then and I’ve needed a ton of extra sleep lately)
  • @Dcwtada, very impressed with your productivity! And the DIY...I hire out all things house related. My house would fall down if I attempted any projects!

@Dcwtada, I’m loving the progress photos. It’s making me want to get off my lazy, pregnant butt and get shit done. I’ve been putting off finishing painting the hallway in the stairwell and I really need to get on that. Is that a window framed out for the bath? Loving it!

I’m actually having a girls’ day tomorrow with one of my aunts, my mom, my sister, and two of my cousins. It’s been absolutely ages since I had someone to watch the kids for an extended period that I didn’t have to feel a little guilty asking for help from and it’s been a weird transition for me, telling my husband I have plans and can he hang with the kids for the day. Gotta get better about that. I actually apologized to him the other day and he was like, for what? For letting me spend time with my kids? Love this man.

Oh, and definitely watching the baseball game tonight and hoping it doesn’t go into extra innings again!

@gabadoo I may have slightly exaggerated my contribution. I can’t make a gingerbread house to save my life, DH does construction on the side. I mostly hold things in place and nod like I know what I am doing when he talks.

Edit @KissMeImScottish we are having glass block put in the window!

I'm waiting for my kids to wake up so we can start making Halloween cookies.

@Dcwtada We're in the middle of remodeling our master bath, too. I get giddy when I think of it being done.  We tore out walls so we could fit a claw foot tub and double shower. Eeek!

  • We went to the park today and spent some much needed time outside. It's still pretty warm but it's only slightly uncomfortable in jeans instead of intolerable.

Tomorrow I'm planning on taking the kids to the Fall Festival at our church. They have been looking forward to it all week. DD2 still has her roseola rash but she has been fever free for 72 hours so we are good to go.

I'm 8 hours jet lagged, exhausted, and nausea is kicking my butt. I spent most of the day with DS puttering around the house, and have been in bed for he last four hours while MIL is taking care of him (DH's best friend is in town so they have been out).  I can't even think about tomorrow.
  • I feel like I’m just trying to stay alive today, lol. The nausea had been unrelentless.

I did get some stuff done. I met with my CASA kiddo, did some cleaning, laundry, and errands. I also went to my moms house. I’m having lunch with my parents tomorrow and going to my friends house for her annual not Halloween party lol.

My SO is staying with his uncle. His mom is his uncles caretaker and she’s in Hawaii for the week. So whenever she goes out of town he stays with his uncle. I love that he is taking care of his family but I miss him :(

@meatballs37 I hope bedtime went as good as nap time!

@ruby696 now I want cookies! The most random foods sound good to me right now, lol.

    @Dcwtada the bathroom looks great!
  • @prpl11butterfly i pulled out my maternity jeans a week ago and had the same thing happen...
  • @prpl11butterfly I’m confused by the concept of maternity underwear...now I don’t like high waisted underwear so maybe that’s it but why spend money on special underwear?(I’m seriously curious not being snarky) I honestly never heard of them until this pregnancy.
  • When I was pregnant with my 1st, and 17, my mom bought me a ton of maternity underwear. They went right up to my boobs. 😂 thinking back, that must have been a hilarious sight.

I have never used maternity underwear in my other pregnancies but I did end up buying a size up for comfort.
  • Oh, no. I'm all about below the bump underwear. I didn't have issues while preg with DS but since having him, I need full booty coverage. Regular underwear that meet that requirement are already rolling down (thank you bloat...). So I got these from Amazon and honestly, I could totally see myself wearing them even when not preg....

  • @prpl11butterfly I really like the full coverage on the back of those underwear. But I’m a plus size mom and I’m worried they will still fall down. Do you find they stay in place well? Have you tried them under leggings?
  • @prpl11butterfly makes much more sense now! The ones I had seen previously were over the bump ones and I just thought “why!?!” Those don’t look bad at all.
  • @srscott3 if it is any consolation, in ten years those friends may not like their wedding photos either. I think that’s only natural as time goes by that you think, “what was I thinking?!”

  • Well, DD was up twice last night. Not horrible, but not great. We are going to attempt CIO tonight. Well DH is because I work. But I will be able to watch at work on the nest. We asked her where she slept last night and she responded “on the moon.” 😆 um sure kid.

FFSC: I’m still wearing my maternity underwear from DD.

Im spoiled rotten. DH let me sleep until 8 (granted I worked until 10:30). And then he just took DD out to run errands while I sit here and watch hallmark movies before work. He is also bringing home a cheeseburger for me from Red Robin. Damn those commercials, they make everything look so yummy! The cravings are so strong with this one.

  • @srscott3 I am 33 and still don’t know about those things ;)

But I completely understand. Ever think of doing a vow renewal or big party to celebrate your anniversary (maybe at 10 years)? Get a nice venue or a destination with your close friends and family.

My wedding was a low key affair with no bells or whistles. At this point my husband and I had 2 kids and this was his third marriage (and his last if wants to live). To make a big deal out of it seemed awkward at best.

@srscott3 DH and I decided to go to the courthouse and I don't have any professional photos. I did my hair and makeup myself. I did a kick ass job though, so at least I have that.  ;)

I bought a gorgeous wedding dress, but when we decided to go to the courthouse route, I found a second dress for $29. DH wore a suit and tie. Sometimes I do wish we'd had a formal wedding when I see my friends' gorgeous photos.

  • Someone tell me that my
toddler rountinely kicking, hitting, climbing on, and occasionally running things into my stomach isn’t going
to hurt the baby. He’s a brute and I swear he’s hit my stomach about ten times today despite my
best efforts to prevent it. I‘m freaking out a bit even though I know that A) at the moment the baby is so deep in my pelvis you can’t really get there and B) there is a TON of protective layers. Anyone else had a large toddler who is extremely active (and nonverbal so I can’t really tell him to be careful with me) when pregnant and been ok?

  • MS hit me hard this weekend. I feel bad because my ILs are visiting and I've been pretty useless. I've slept in everyday, taken naps and have pretty much been sitting on the couch the rest of the time. Meanwhile, I'm trying everything I can to settle my stomach (ginger ale, tea, saltines, etc)
  • @wearyfuzzball I’m sorry you’re suffering too! It’s rough :/
  • @srscott3 I'm sorry your finding "regret" in that aspect of your wedding. I think a renewal ceremony where you get what you want will really help with those feelings. Re my underwear, I'm 5'3 and 165 (for comparison) and bought size XL. I'm definitely of the curvy persuasion. So far I have had no issues. Been wearing leggings for a couple hours since getting home and everything is in place.

@tuxielove93 baby should be okay unless your toddler is super aggressive. Perhaps once he knows or has visual of a growing baby he'll ease up on you.

@wearyfuzzball sorry your feeling sick. I pretty much spent yesterday on the couch from my stomach feeling gross. I am sure you in laws will understand.
  • @srscott3 ah wedding regret. My wedding was a fiasco and I hate almost all of the photos. We’re going to do a vow renewal at some point and do it the way we always should have done it,’much like some ladies have suggested.

@prpl11butterfly Thanks ☺️ He’s not trying to hurt me, it’s more that he just flops around and generally doesn’t pay attention to where feet and objects land 🙄 I hope that both As he can see baby more and as he keeps getting older he’ll get better

  • @prpl11butterfly thankfully my ILs are being super awesome about it, though I think they are just happy that they will be grandparents (we told them on Friday when they arrived). I still feel bad because we dont see them very often.
  • I have never worn maternity underwear either, but now I am intrigued by those and may give them a try.  I need to get a size up anyways since mine already are getting on the small side.

We took DS to a trunk or treat at my mom's church and he had a lot of fun.  But then became a complete grump on the way home, so that was no fun.
