UO: the whole millenial vs xennial vs boomer thing drives me bat shit crazy. My husband is constantly whining about millenials and I remind him he is one.
I've been up since 5 because DS is still sick. I wanted my extra 45 minutes. On the plus side, I got to work early with McDs in hand so I'm enjoying a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and I feel no shame about that.
After an urgent care trip with an ear infection diagnosis for DS Friday night, he woke up this morning with a croupy cough. We gave him a neb treatment and it sounded worse so he's home from school and thankfully has an ENT appointment this afternoon (thank goodness for family hook-ups at the specialists office!!). Nothing is worse than fall weather when your child has preemie lungs that he can't grow out of and chronic ear issues. I'm hoping it's just another set of ear tubes to come and nothing more like tonsils/adenoids, esp in the next 8-9 wks
@bradleysmommy28 That would be pretty tough. Hope he feels better soon!
DH's friend (also our mechanic), whom DH just spent the entire weekend with for a wedding, reported this morning that he has a full-blown, super congested cold! Omfg, please no. I can't take another horrible month long cold, and my baby shower is next weekend. I'm praying to the mucus gods to spare me ( and of course DH, but he generally sneezes once and is over it). The guy is currently working on our truck - I'll not be getting in that thing for a long time!
All weekend while my parents were visiting and staying with us for my shower I was getting Amazon packages and opening them right away in front of everyone because they were shower gifts. Then on Saturday I realized a package I had ordered myself was due to arrive Sunday and they would still be there. We got home and my dad picked it up from the front door and I grabbed it and said thanks and stuck it in our bedroom. Later my mom asked what it was and I said I hadn't had time to open it but I was pretty sure it was the panda hooded towel from our registry that was coming.
Secretly, I'd actually ordered a complete kegel weight set and instruction book. I'd had a few bladder leaks and want to make sure things are in as good shape as possible before I give birth. It was six different white, pink, and purple vaginal weights that look like tampons and help you tighten your vag muscles in the box. So glad my dad didn't open it and my mom didn't force the issue. DH knew what it was and said it's so great you got your PANDA TOWEL today honey.
@jgil85 i'm so sorry I know there are no words to comfort you. It's so tragic losing someone you love. I lost my best friend since I was 10, when we were 21 and I still miss her everyday.
@jgil85 I'm so sorry for your loss! I can't even imagine that added stress to this stage of pregnancy. Virtual hugs and if you ever need to vent or talk - we are all here listening!
I think I'm getting delirious from being so sober for so long. I can't get the drunk giggles so now they're coming randomly. I saw this over the weekend and started crying once I figured it out I tried to explain it to SO but I couldn't breathe/talk
I did something knowing it would annoy DH but would make me happy -- I put together the rock n play all by myself. I work at home and, listen, I was just feeling nest-y, okay? It made me tear up when I turned on the little music
@galactickates mine does the same thing with any sweets. I have to say it also makes me like sweets more because then I feel her moving more, so that’s gonna be interesting if that continues the next 12 weeks. I need self control! I’m also still waiting on my glucose test results from last Thursday, so all weekend I was eating all sorts of sweets just in case!
@sweetyjenj I’ve seen that before. I was born in 1984 so I’m on the older end of the millennial spectrum. I don’t really identify with most millennials. Both of my brothers are gen X so I grew up around a lot of music and TV geared toward gen X.
I have been trying to kick this feeling of getting sick for days now. Yesterday was rough at work and I was surrounded by a lot of people who were congested. I know it’s inevitable but I think I’m coming down with something.
This week is supposed to be my busiest in terms of traveling and meeting my clients but I just woke up with a slight sore throat.
Can I take emergen-c on top of prenatals?! I need to do whatever it takes to get through this week and then take sick days if necessary next week.
I had my biweekly yestersay - I passed my 3 hr glucose test, she told me everything is long and closed and I'm officially at 30 wks and NOT hospitalized so this is a total win in my book! The tiniest bit of anxiety was lifted at this milestone. Now to make it past 31w4d still preggo and I'll be happy!
Once again, my mom flakes out on me. I asked her to come over and spend time with ds so I could run an errand and do some work on the nursery and now she can't make it. I'm so done trying to rely on her and ask for her help. I'm taking her to see Hamilton on Saturday and I'm planning on not having any contact with her for a while after that.
@jgil85 ugh, sorry. I struggle with my mom not being what I need her to be too (despite being an overall good person) and it's definitely not always easy. Taking a break is definitely necessary sometimes for a little mental reset!
Ugh, I failed my 1 hr glucose so I have to do the 2 hr fasting one on Friday. The nurse said I was borderline but still have to do it. I hope I pass this one! Also, baby is not head down. I really hope he turns down and stays there these next couple of months. It was so weird scheduling out all the appts until birth! Ah, this is really happening.

Good luck @Jackiemxoxo!!! My baby is still breech also! I am getting antsy for him to flip over to head down! I am (probably irrationally) terrified by the idea of a c-section.

@wnn1992 I am irrationally terrified of a c-section too! I won't make a birth plan because I think it jinxes birth and ends in c-sections. I can't even imagine having one... I just keep telling myself this baby better turn.

My poor dog won't stop sneezing and I want him to feel better. I just switched fabric softeners and I'm afraid he's sensitive to it.
