I am totally judging the car dealer for not letting me heat up my lunch while I get my car serviced. “We don’t have a microwave...” Bitch, you don’t have a single microwave in this entire complex? Am I the first person to want to eat lunch while you work on my car, during lunch time? This might be the last time I take my car here...

@meggyme no flames here - that’s crap! They should have one available to customers in exactly your situation! Boo on them!
AFM - I’ve already started listening to Christmas music. It’s my favorite and just puts me in a better mood (which I’ve needed recently with the case of pregnant grumpies I’ve had!). Not for stores being all Christmasy yet, though!
@lelkcot and @meggyme that was the case for hobby lobby and Michael's too! I have been listening to Christmas music too when dw isn't home. She can't stand it, but puts up with it come Dec.
No Christmas yet! I guess I have two confessions. First, I judge anyone and anything (as in entities like businesses) that put up Christmas decor before Thanksgiving. Nope! Nope! That stuff stays in the closet until the weekend after.
And second, inspired by a confession in May, I also judge a little bit when I hear people complaining about how a doctor won't let them get sterilized when they're still young (20s) or people getting their tubes tied/snipped right after having a child, whether that's first, second, third, whatever.
Yes, there are people who know for certain they will never have children from a very early age and never change their mind. But there are also a lot of people who do change their mind. I know some of them. Is it worth the risk? Not being able to have children when you want them is extraordinarily painful.
And regarding getting permanent BC right after having a child, I know so many couples who changed their mind after having 3+ kids and being "done." And yes, I know couples who never changed their mind. Is it really worth the risk? In one instance, the couple was unable to reverse the procedure, and it was so so hard for them. They ultimately ended up adopting, which was a long, difficult, painful and expensive process before they were successful.
With the exception of women who've had multiple CS and whose doctors have recommended no more CS, I think anyone who has kids and is "done" should wait a couple years or longer depending on how far apart their kids are spaced and use whatever BC they were using before, before pursuing permanent BC.
@lovesclimbing YES YES YES to no Christmas before Thanksgiving! It's a strict rule in my house. Each holiday has a turn!
Related, I guess mine would be that I think anyone who gets up extra early on Black Friday for the sales is out of their minds. Sleeping in is my favorite Black Friday tradition! Generally speaking, I am completely opposed to the spirit of Black Friday and the gift giving pressure of the Christmas season.
ETA: I do forgive hobby stores like Michael's for being a season ahead. People need extra time to craft their seasonal stuff so it makes sense for craft stores to carry holiday items earlier.
@lovesclimbing DH is 4 years older than me and has a couple friends that have already been "fixed" (they're 31-32). DH has told me on so many occasions he just can't believe it that he feels like they're too young to already do that.
My confession was inspired by the transitioning thread: we do TV dinners more often than table dinners (and as a result will probably buy a second high chair eventually rather than phase DD out of it). Flame away!
I know it’s terrible but my daughter eats so much better when she is watching a show than when we are around the table, plus if she can reach my plate she steals my food. I figure at least we are eating together, plus we still say grace and chat during the meal, just so happens mom and dad are on the sofa and DD is next to me in her “rolly chair”.

@lovesclimbing & @mayoduck YES!!! to NO Christmas anything until after Thanksgiving. It drives me nuts that we don’t get to just focus on being appreciative for Thanksgiving or the wonder of the holidays without being smashed in the face with commercialism/consumerism.
Sorry, @Kenneylynn3 I’m with your DW on this one. No carols until December!
@lovesclimbing I'm 40 and DH is 42. We were supposed to be done at one, but DH dragged his feet on his vasectomy so now we've got #2 on deck. We are both getting "fixed" after this one - we are for sure done. I do get what you're saying about people changing their minds but a lot of people don't, and I find it really patronizing that doctors refuse to provide services. If someone changes their mind, that's on them. It's not the doctor's business. If they've been fully informed of the risks, benefits, and chances for reversal, and they still want it - then give it to them.
@lovesclimbing After a long day at work teaching kids with parents that shouldn’t be parents... I often think more people should sterilize themselves at 20.
I'm 40 and my husband will be 45 shortly after baby is born. This is our first and our last. I already know I have to have a c section due to hardware in my pelvis. So I've already talked to my doctor about getting my tubes tied while they are in there taking out baby. Flame away.
@mamakate1616 - My kids are the opposite, they hardly touch their dinner if they can see the TV on from the table (like at my mom's house). I have to turn it off to get them to eat! When DD2 was transitioning to be a solid food eater as a baby, I gave her bits from my plate to eat off her high chair tray but that was just part of the baby-led weaning that we did. Now that she's older and has her own plate, she still will sometimes ask to "share" with mama!
@lbloom lol! I wish she was sweet about it and asked to share! She will literally grab a fistful of asparagus, take a few bites and then turn them into a family and play with them.
