Re: PGAL check in 10/17
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Worried today 😕 Not feeling as sick and having some mild aches and cramps. I know it's probably nothing, but I can't stop my mind from "going there".
3. Any appointment updates? I have an ultrasound tomorrow morning. Really hoping to get good news. I'll also have my NIPT blood drawn.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel so unproductive 😭. I'm always sorta foggy and tired and distracted and unmotivated. I'm usually type-A, list maker, people-pleaser, so this "blah" feeling is killing me.
5. Any milestones coming up? Inching towards end of 1st tri.
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy?
I played it SO SAFE with both loss pregnancies. There really nothing I could add to my list of "don'ts" at this point. I'm such a rule follower.
I did get a skyla after my 2nd DD and I've always have the nagging feeling that it somehow "messed me up" and made my losses happen. My drs say that isn't so, but I'll always wonder.
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally fine actually. Physically drained.
3. Any appointment updates? Updated on the last PGAL check in thread but we got to see the heart beat on Monday and that was great!
Possibly TW* During the ultrasound, the OB found a fairly large cyst on my left ovary that looks like it's filled with fluid only. She's not concerned about it and feels like it'll go away on it's own. However, she said because it's larger than my ovary, it could flip if jostled and twist the Fallopian tube around and cut off blood circulation to my ovary. That's worst case scenario. She said if it happens, I would have pains like appendicitis and I would need to come in asap for surgery that wouldn't be expected harm the pregnancy. If I were to have the pain and try to live with it, my ovary could decay and then I'd have to take it out.... No one wants that.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? None
5. Any milestones coming up? Passed the dreaded 8w ultrasound that we never got to pass before so that was nice. Trying to get to 12 weeks now.
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy?
Nothing except high intensity work outs. I didn't know about my second and I was losing a lot of water weight. I figured that attributed to it.
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Super anxious today. I had a crazy dream last time about 3 babies, something with an US. I can't really remember but I just know its cause I'm so worried.
3. Any appointment updates? 1st US tomorrow morning.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? not really
5. Any milestones coming up? not yet
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy?
I drank OJ every morning so I thought maybe I had toooo much vitamnin C lol
3. Any appointment updates? Not until nov
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I have a Doppler a friend of mine gave me to use but I’ve been too afraid of not finding a heartbeat to even try it yet.
5. Any milestones coming up? We passed our loss milestone but are still too close to it for my comfort. I hope I’ll feel better after our 14 week appt in nov.
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy? I was working out pretty hard and having maybe a pop a day, so this time I’m afraid to do much exercise other than walks, and I’m going full crazy- zero caffeine, no deli meat or anything else that’s probably fine 🤷🏻♀️
8+2
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?
Ugh yesterday and today, I have felt awful- my stomach is sour and nothing sounds good, but I have to eat or IO feel worse. Emotionally, I am better today now that I feel like crap. We told our entire families on Sunday and my symptoms went away. And then today I told my coworkers and bosses b/c I want to be able to nap in the wellness room at lunch without anyone side-eyeing me. Hey, it's there and I will get a Drs note if anyone says anything.
3. Any appointment updates?
Nope- none until Halloween. It is going sooo slowly.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Of course DH got sick last night just as I was getting sick. So I STILL had to get up with DD at 5:30 this morning. I accused him of having sympathy morning sickness. I hope it's not a bug going around our house.
5. Any milestones coming up?
I believe my first pregnancy stopped growing at 8+3, so I am right there. I know the 8/9 mark is a big one for chromosomal abnormality losses- so I am hoping my symptoms stay strong.
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example, something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy?
I started prenatal yoga at 8 weeks with my first MC, flew to NYC for a quick weekend away with DH, accidentally drank 6 cups of coffee without thinking at breakfast, and got a massage from an unregulated mall massage parlor (it was NOT a prenatal massage). I realize that none of these were probably directly responsible for my loss, but I refuse to fly in the first trimester, get massages, or do prenatal yoga. I have at most a half of a cup of coffee a day.
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally okay because appt is Friday- physically, having pressure and intestinal pain from being constipated so it’s Messing with my head
3. Any appointment updates? Friday 10/19
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? When will nausea subside? 😩😩
5. Any milestones coming up? Passed all of our previous loss milestones so just hoping this babyis healthy!
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy?
no, I’m cautious as heck no matter what.
How many weeks are you? 9w6d
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I am just beyond exhausted. I feel like I can barely get anything done and just want to sleep. It’s been hard keeping up with a toddler.
3. Any appointment updates? Nothing until 10/30
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? We haven’t told my in laws and it’s starting to bother DH. After my loss, my MIL texted DH about how “at least you can start doing the fun stuff of trying again 😉”. So inappropriate and just wrong while we were grieving the loss of our baby. I just can’t let it go and don’t want to be on the phone when he tells them.
5. Any milestones coming up? Passed our loss milestone (7w)
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy? Caffeine. It makes no sense and I don’t drink a lot to begin with, but I’ve been almost obsessive with it this time around.
wtf who says that????
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally, I'm cautiously optimistic. Physically, I'm exhausted almost constantly and my nausea has decided to kick it up a notch.
3. Any appointment updates? My doctor is sending me to consult with Maternal Fetal Medicine (high risk doctors) to talk about my diabetes and my incompetent cervix. I meet with them on 11/08 then with my doctor again on 11/12 and then hopefully we'll be scheduling my cerclage since I'll be 12/13 weeks.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really!
5. Any milestones coming up? We have passed my 5 week loss and we're currently right at the time I had my first loss so I'm just excited to get past this week.
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy?
Not really, I know the reason for my worst loss at 18 weeks (IC) and so I know if I can just make it to 12 weeks, they'll be able to stitch me and I'll feel much better. My first two losses were not related to my IC, I think maybe they just weren't meant to be. The first one was related to my placenta abrupting and the second one was *very* early at 5 weeks. So I'm just being super cautious, taking it easy. But I don't have any superstitions or anything.
Keeping all the good thought going out to you guys!
2. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I’m feeling so much better lately, which makes me nervous. It’s such a relief to not feel sick all of the time though. I’m just anxious a lot. Trying to tell myself it will all be ok.
3. Any appointment updates? Our next appointment is the nuchal on the 30th, we can’t wait! I had my genetic testing done Monday, so now we will be waiting for the results of that for about 2 weeks.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? We’ve been able to hear our little one’s heartbeat using a fetal Doppler! Probably one of the coolest things so far. We didn’t have one when I had our daughter, I wish I did!
5. Any milestones coming up? Today is our milestone actually. We miscarried at 10 weeks 2 days in June. So today we are officially past that point.
6. GTKY: Do you have any superstitions from your previous losses. For example something you ate or drank or watched on TV that you associated with your loss so you refuse to do so this pregnancy? No not really.
I've been toying with the idea of getting a doppler. Where did you get yours? Do you recommend it?
I got mine from amazon. I can’t find the one I have on amazon now, but there are others. I love having it, it really does give me peace of mind. The ones I’ve seen on Amazon are all in the $50 range.
With that being said, it has taken us a few minutes to find the HB each time, so if you do invest in one don’t get worried if you can’t find it right away.
Ive been feeling nauseous since about 8 weeks and I know I could go out and get seabands or try dickergis, but the nausea is reassuring to me since it went away in my first loss at 8 weeks or so and never existed in my 2nd loss, so it’s oddly reassuring. I know when/if it goes away, I will get scared again and I prefer feeling nauseous over my anxiety as crazy as that sounds.
I feel crazy- but I think pregnancy post-loss is just gonna make you a little crazy, ya know?
