TW/UO/FFFC!!

We failed as a board this week and forgot all these threads 😂

Re: TW/UO/FFFC!!

  • TW: freaking DH. He is SO damn loud getting ready in the morning. It’s like he doesn’t even try to be quiet. He just goes about his business as if no one else is in the house sleeping. Like me. And his one year old. Who he woke up this morning. 😑

UO: I don’t like Halloween. I don’t think it should be a holiday. I would rather skip straight to thanksgiving.

FFFC: I let my kid have Nutella toast for breakfast. Mainly because we were out of butter. But also because I wanted some.

  • @srscott3 I would be giving my DH an earful if he woke up our one year old. That is frustrating.

TW: My DH. He has ten plans this weekend to help people or do other random stuff. And that means I have to take care of the toddler all by myself while I'm puking or ask my mom to come over and help me. Most of his plans could have been avoided because he didn't make them until this week and they are with his parents. Who know I'm pregnant and don't feel good. I feel like it was selfish of his dad to ask him to go shooting Sunday and selfish of his mom to volunteer him to help his aunt move (little boxes, not big stuff) when they know I don't feel good. But regardless he could have said 'sorry I can't' he just chose not to.  I was fuming when he told me this all this morning.
    Sorry long rant.

FFFC: My toddler had a lunchable for dinner last night.
  • @runyogamom he already texted and apologized 😂 but I’m definitely napping during her nap time today or I won’t make it.

And I hate when my DH does that. We don’t live near his parents anymore but when we did..he can never just say no to them. Then again, he’s the favorite and doesn’t want to disappoint them 🙄
  • @srscott3 glad he apologized to you! And yes to the nap. Any reason to nap is a good one!

Yes. That's my DH's problem. He really struggles to tell anyone no.
  • TW- everything conspiring against me sleeping in my own bed. I have slept in it once in the past 8 days. Between work travel and fun travel and now staying at my ILs I feel like I’m never going to get back into my bed.

My BIL/SIL are on an anniversary trip so we are staying at their house until Sunday and watching their 3 kids. It’s good for my daughter, my nieces and nephews are easy and they live one block away. It really isn’t that hard but I just want my bed. We got a new one when we bought our house in July and it is my favorite thing in this pile of bricks.

TW: the people in charge at my office. So far, I've heard in 3 different meetings from 3 different partners 4 different projects I'm supposed to be working on between now and June (1-2 would be the normal number). Add that to having to move my desk on Tuesday to a new location, and I'm pretty much ready to kill everyone. Can't they see I'm exhausted?!?!?

Can't wait until 2nd trimester when the energy is supposed to come back.

    Edited to add:
FFFC: I asked my husband to buy me gingersnaps last night, and then I ate the whole box in one sitting...but put the empty box in the cabinet so he won't know (since he doesn't like them and therefore won't try to eat them). I'll throw out the empty box sometime next week.

UO: I dont like when  people tell me I look younger then I am. Maybe in 10 yrs, but not now.

FFFC- an expecting aquaitence asked about good baby apps. I didnt suggest this because I dont want to share it with her (though shes due months before us). Someone suggest BC and I think that's a great fit for her....

Eta- @meatballs37 I'm not overly worried either. I mean, if people wanna find me they will 1 way or another. Why look on a baby forum?
  • UO: I hate Christmas. I’m getting so tired of seeing all the people on my FB feed super excited for my least favorite holiday. Let’s enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving!
  • Aw man I LOVE Christmas! DH and I got married two weeks before Christmas, and it was an entire holiday feels wedding. Snow, Christmas lights, poinsettia center pieces, and ending the night with the song White Christmas. Sigh. Still makes me warm and fuzzy.

how can anyone hate christmas?! i look forward to it all year.
  • Just a Grinch. We never celebrated when I was a child and I had an ex who went way overboard with it. Completely
turned me off of the whole thing.
  • I don't necessarily care about the hype before Christmas but I do find something magical about christmas morning. Unfortunately this year DH has to work on Christmas and I am on call so it should be interesting.

I don't some much care about people seeing me complain about never ending nausea. I just have to be careful when I get more comfortable and I bitch about people in my life. People know that I was very active in my last bmb (though a few months in a bunch of us broke off into a private group where we could freely bitch) so I wouldn't be shocked if they lurked to see what I say.

My fffc is that it drives me nuts when people say they can no longer travel because of kids. For $ after having kids sure but not cause of kids themselves. We do one big trip a year and every year someone tries to talk me out of it because of DS. Is it different than traveling before DS, yes but it's still awesome and fun.
  • My husband doesn’t like the holidays. It reminds him of shitty times in his childhood. He had turned the corner now that we get to share it with our daughter and I anticipate he will warm up as time goes on and she gets it more and more.

He’s also taken charge of Christmas Eve dinner and we host the entire family and our tenant who is a chef. We do the 7 fishes and it’s fabulous. I think once you start to make your own traditions you have some control and can enjoy it better. I love it and always have but I can see where people are coming from who don’t.
  • @mamamaggie524 I'm not a huge Christmas person, more neutral with it. I like getting together with family and decorating for winter. I do not like how early Christmas starts and how crazy hyped up people get about it. I want to celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving without people shoving Christmas down my throat.
  • @ncm1919 I think that’s what I am most looking forward to. Is starting our own traditions.

  • Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Especially since it comes on the heels of fall, which just makes me euphoric - I love when the leaves change and the days shorten and the weather cools down and I’m definitely the stereotypical “apple picking, hay ride riding, sweater wearing” person. When winter shows up, Christmas helps everything feel so warm and happy, and I’m definitely a huge fan of working hard to find the right gifts for people. A lot of the time we make them, and that’s a lot of fun as well, and the kids just make everything better. I feel like I’m learning how to love the season all over again now that my son is starting to understand the season.

That said, while I’ve hated Halloween for personal reasons -

my best friend committed suicide 10 years ago on Halloween and it’s been hard for me ever since
    END TW

    - I’m learning to love it again now that I have kids. And Christmas decorations should not go up before Thanksgiving! Let the feast day have it’s moment! Honestly, I’m just a huge family person. My family (extended included) is almost freakishly close (my siblings are hands down my best friends), so any excuse to all get together is something to get excited about.

  • I like Christmas but not too soon. My bday is Nov 28 so Christmas is forbidden until after that day (and preferably not until the 1st). And Christmas is back out the door on Jan 1.  But all during Dec, have at it. Except Christmas music. I despise it.
  • I absolutely love Christmas, but I refuse to do any decorating or even really talking about it until after Thanksgiving is done too. Hobby Lobby drives me crazy this time of year because it’s been 70% Christmas decorations since September. It’s too much.
  • @prpl11butterfly The music is about the only part of Christmas that I like. Well, music and cookies. Give me alll the Christmas cookies!
  • Mmmmm Christmas cookies.....
  • Ohh I’m one of those that has already started to slowly listen to Christmas music. We also put up our tree Thanksgiving weekend. It’s the only holiday I’m crazy about

UO I firmly believe there 4 seasons which correspond to the months broken up into quarters. Meaning spring is March, April, May. Summer is June, July and August. Fall is Sept, Oct, Nov and winter is Dec, Jan, Feb. I hate when people say oh I have a summer baby that was born in April. No, you have a spring baby. Just annoys me.
