Re: High Risk Check In W/O 10/1

  • EDD/W+D: 17th, 3+4

Why are you high-risk? Pre-term labor, 3 losses at 6w, 22w, and 29w, and hypothyroidism

Treatment Plan: just started my thyroid meds yesterday again. I had to take them with DD, but surprisingly not with the twins. I will also start seeing the MFM at around 12 weeks to discuss cerclage. Plus most likely weekly injections to prevent pre-term labor after 14 weeks. And more appointments overall.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? 2nd beta is today. I’m so nervous and couldn’t sleep.

Rant/Rave: I’m still peeing on all the things. My frers are getting darker, which I know can mean nada. But it makes me feel a little better.

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? (Any holiday) pie at thanksgiving! I love eating it for leftovers for several days after. Pie for breakfast? Sure why not!

  • EDD/W+D: June 3rd, 5 weeks + 4 days

Why are you high-risk? Preeclampsia/ HELLP syndrome with my first, emergency induction at 34 weeks

Treatment Plan: I’ll start aspirin at 8 weeks plus heavy monitoring (frequent blood work, nsts, growth ultrasounds) starting at 20 weeks

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? No, Preeclampsia typically doesn’t hit until 20 weeks and on

Rant/Rave: I love my MFM (maternal fetal medicine) which is basically a high risk OB. He oversaw my case last time and delivered my son. He will now be in charge of this pregnancy! I’m so relieved because I feel like my nurse midwife really dropped the ball last time with diagnosis

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? (Any holiday) I love going to see Christmas lights!
  • EDD/W+D: 4 +3

Why are you high-risk? I have a blood clotting disorder and I had pre-e with my son and delivered at 35 weeks.

Treatment Plan: I am taking a baby aspirin and blood thinner injections throughout my whole pregnancy.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I will go for an apt on Monday but I should be doing a phone conference re: the blood disorder and my 9.5 week miscarriage.

Rant/Rave: Mostly just trying to stay cautiously optimistic!

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? (Any holiday) We are huge Harry Potter nerds and every Christmas we rewatch all of the movies.
  • EDD/W+D: June 8/4+6

Why are you high-risk? I’ll be 36 when I deliver, I had GD and Pre-E with my last pregnancy, a c-section, a past MC and I have hypothyroidism

Treatment Plan: US and confirmation of pregnancy when I’m 7+3 (wanted it between 6-8 weeks), betas next week, I’ll do my glucose challenge earlier this time and will start a baby aspirin in the 2nd trimester

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I’ll go get my betas drawn on Mon and Wed

Rant/Rave: the NP who spoke for my OB and said they don’t routinely do HCG levels on everyone so she wasn’t going to order me one. My OB and I talked about this already, order the damn test lady!

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? (Any holiday) Christmas Eve my family and I make snacks and sit by the fire and watch Christmas movies all night. Not going to happen this year because my family is 650 miles away and I work Christmas Eve this year 😞
  • EDD/W+D:   5W 3 days

Why are you high-risk?  anemia, problems with my platelets, asthma, severe early m/c and now add age

Treatment Plan:  right now, weekly betas. . . then once my numbers are high enough, I will go to my OB and then meet with the high risk OB.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?  Blood test scheduled for monday.

Rant/Rave:  I wish my doctor was a little bit more forthcoming with the numbers

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? (Any holiday) Christmas . . I love the seven fishes and antipasta for Christmas eve and then Christmas dinner.  We don't get that too much here on the west coast.
  • EDD/W+D: June 20 - 3 weeks 3 days.  So early 😬

Why are you high-risk? my age I guess - 37. I didn’t have the easiest pregnancy the first time around either - placenta issue early on with spotting, previa (which cleared up), then he was full breech and I had blood pressure issues at the end that landed me on bed rest. But he’s a happy, healthy almost 3 year old now! ❤️

Treatment Plan: Not sure yet - I plan on calling my doc after I actually miss my period.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Nope!  Sitting tight.

Rant/Rave: I hate the anxiety of first trimester.

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? EVERYTHING CHRISTMAS ❤️
