Genetic testing - Second pregnancy

so I saw my obgyn and was expecting to do genetic testing but MD said that since I’ve done it with first baby and all my results were good I don’t need to do for this child. Is that true? Should I insisted on it?

Depends on the testing. If you did the carrier testing that’s to check if you are a carrier for diseases like cystic fibrosis or spina bifida. If it’s fetal testing like the NIPT then it looks at baby’s DNA that is floating around in your blood that will be individual to this specific pregnancy. Generally they are looking for chromosomal disorders like Down Syndrome and cal also often determine the sex.
