  • @whoberry for gifts maybe get smaller things now and try to save some big ticket items for Black Friday? I've never been a BF shopper so idk lol. And I feel you on names, this is my second boy and it was difficult. If I can convince DH for a third baby and it's another boy we're screwed!

  • @mcgeeva that's awesome!  This is actually #3 for me too.  I'm one of those cliche IF stories though, we didn't have any interventions for #2 or #3 (and #3 was actually a surprise).
    Glad to see you again!

  • @cecilb93 that's a good idea. I hate going to the stores on BF but I definitely enjoy the online sales.
Are you sharing your name for #2?

  • @mcgeeva I was in the SAIF FB group for awhile but I left because I felt kinda guilty about getting pregnant without assistance and I wasn't very active in the group. The girls all seemed really nice though and a few are also in my J '14 FB group too.

  • @winterplumeria I showed DH your post and told him,  "look, I'm not the only one who's trying to actually get stuff done because time is running out!". He laughed, but I don't think he understands lol
  • @whoberry yep! This little boy will be Vincent Lee, first is Anthony James. I don't mind sharing, if people don't like it that's their problem. My mom actually told me she didn't like Vincent when it was still just a contender and not decided, but we like it so it's what we're going with!

  • What do you have left?
    ☐ Get TDAP
    ☐ Pre-register with hospital
☐ Go to classes (registered for Infant Care, non-certification Infant CPR, and Breastfeeding)
☐ Set up carts (Think of them as a mobile nursery. I have two utility carts that I want to keep him in most of the day to keep the dogs out of his face. Carts currently carry miscellaneous stuff, like art I can't hang, and extra towels. So 'set up' is moving the contents elsewhere, and putting my baby-stuff bins in the baskets so that the carts will contain diapering things, NB-6m clothes, and all of the blankets.)
☐ Receive and install infant car seats
☐ Use Amazon completion discount #1 on PnP, stroller, bottles, some immediate tiny onesies and sleepers.
☐ Wash NB clothes and blankets
☐ Rearrange bedroom to include bedside PnP
☐ Set up date with photographer for our annual family photo, take photo
☐ Finalize this year's holiday card design, collect updated addresses
☐ Order said holiday postcards before December
☐ See what last minute gifts come in after folks receive visual reminders that I'm pregnant
☐ Use Amazon completion discount #2 on remaining baby things
☐ Buy holiday gifts for family on Cyber Monday
☐ Wrap gifts before re-boxing and shipping to family
    ☐ ~February Assemble crib in office/dog room

How are you preparing for baby?
Just trying to get this house in semi-order. Not too worried about perfection since we're moving in June again, so we're not bothering with a nursery here. Most preparations seem mental - like how we plan on dividing responsibilities and handling routine dog maintenance. We do a lot of talking over dinner about various thoughts and concerns. It seems easy because DH is excited and ready to be a very involved dad

How are you preparing for being immediately postpartum?
☐ Need to make a list of chores and grocery ideas for DH & godparents
☐ Order a pack of Amazon brand adult diapers
☐ Order dermoplast spray, and maybe some Tucks or witch hazel pads
☐ Waiting on breast pump to arrive
☐ Waiting on postpartum support brace to arrive

That's it really. I'm really stoked that baby's godparents / back-up legal guardians will be visiting  They are the only family coming to visit, and should be here by the time we get discharged from the hospital assuming all goes to plan. I love knowing that I can send them to pick up the groceries, while DH walks the dogs, and I attempt to feed a baby.

    Questions? Comments?
I love/hate lists. Lists used to help me get things done, but now they don't :grimace: Lack-of-sense-of-urgency aside, I do like thinking around situations and becoming a deer in the headlights of my massive to-do lists.

  • What do you have left?
I feel like there's so much left to do but in reality there's not THAT much.
-DH has to modify the co-sleeper so it fits in with our new bed.
    - buy a swing
    - buy more diapers
    - have MIL paint the dresser so I can
    - put away all the NB clothes/ blankets
    - I'd like to do freezer meals this time ( DD came the same day I bought all the food. I never got a chance to actually make the meals)
    - pack hospital bag
    - pack DDs bag
    - buy sibling gift
    - wrap Xmas presents
    - register with the hospital ( but I'll probably do that when I get my Rhogam shot in the next week or so)

How are you preparing for this baby?
Idk, I feel like I'm not lol. We moved DD to a bigger bed, so the crib is free when baby is about 6mo.

    Postpartum?
I have a package of Depends ready and I will probably get another one too. I wore depends my first 2 weeks PP with DD. I have tucks left over but should check expiration date. The hospital will give me the Peri bottle and a couple mesh undies. I don't remember using much else ( besides stool softener) .
  • There’s ALOT to do on our end.  Ugh.
    -  Get the current condo papers settled
    - reglaze bathroom and fix window
    - finish the demo in bedroom to make more room in closet area
    -  move packed boxes of books and other junk to storage area
    - finish up trust and wills
    - buy and pack hospital bags
    - buy car seat, stroller, pack and play, changing station
    -maybe... get Christmas gifts set
    -  lock in the newborn photographer

    Preparing for baby:
    -  we are going to a baby boot camp on this coming Saturday... CPR, breathing, etc
    - turn in papers to register at hospital

    Postpartum:
    -  have no idea.... I’ll just copy off of you all!!  Lol!

  • Update:
Just bought 2 new harness boosters and baby's carseat and snagged 20% off each seat! Super excited. This means all my items are officially done. I just want to keep the house straightened up until she gets here but with H already starting his paternity leave that shouldn't be too hard. Even with 2 toddlers...right?
