    @mayflower513
I'm so happy to hear that! What a cutie! Does your regular OB do the 3d scans? We got one done at my 23 week scan (to get pictures they couldn't see in the A/S due to baby being uncooperative). I said that her nose looks just like my husband's -- and now that she's here everyone agrees with me!
~~ Our Story in Spoiler! TW loss/child~~
    Fall 2012 -- started TTC
Summer 2015 - no BFP yet, labs normal, referred to RE
Fall 2015 - Summer 2016 - Further testing all normal. 3 IUI's -- BFN. Recommended move to IVF. Planned cycle for fall 2016.
September 2016 - Surprise natural BFP. MMC @ 8 weeks. RE expressed confidence that we just needed the 'right' embryo.
    Fall 2016 - Spring 2017 -- Break from TTC
June 2017 - Started IVF; egg retrieval for freeze all cycle. 9 mature eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized. 2 4BB embies on ice.
August 2017 - FET transfer both embies. BFP.  Twin pregnancy confirmed by ultrasound. EDD 4/28/18
September 2017 - Twin B stopped developing; Twin A doing perfectly! Graduated from RE @ 10 weeks
March 2018 - Baby Girl born via C/S due to pre-eclampsia -- strong and healthy!

  • @mbradfo2 my OB doesn’t the specialist does.  They tried at my AS but the cord was across his face so they couldn’t get it, and with my first his arm wasn’t over his face, so this is my first successful 3D pic!  That’s so cool that you could tell and you still see it!

@Drove2u I hear you on the flexibility, my last job was super flexible with work from home and the commute sucked, but I couldn't complain since I didn't have to go in every day. And it's great you can wfh the month before you give birth, that's a nice perk!

  • @JamieH2000 Congrats on a great A/S and seeing a healthy baby boy! I only have family from my dad's side where I live and he has 2 sisters - one has 3 girls and one has 4 girls. Then my parents had me and I have two sisters. So, no boys at all. I was scared to have a boy because I thought I'd have no idea what to do with one. But then DS was born and I was totally in love. The bond between a mom and her son is like nothing else (I have a DD too and while I of course love her just as much, it's just different). The random "I love yous" the snuggles and kisses, the "you're the best mommy ever"...boys just melt your heart. My DS told me that when he grows up he's going to buy the house next door because then he can just look out the window and see me (they have a window that looks into one of our windows). I'm totally holding him to that :) On a serious note, most wild and misbehaved boys I know, either in my family or through DS' friends, have parents that let them get away with being jerks. My DS is sweet and mellow and not rude or uncouth at all. We just don't allow that kind of crazy, rambunctious, bathroom talk type of behaviour. So, it's totally possible to have a gentle, well-behaved son! Congrats again - boys are awesome!

  • Lurking - @JamieH2000 congrats!! I have a 5yo girl and almost 1yo boy. I adore both but my daughter is and always has been emotionally draining haha, she’s intense and was from day 1. Graham is SO much more chill and mellow and happy and yes do boys love their mamas!! He’s currently snoozing on me burrowed into me. My nephew is 10 and is SUCH a little gentleman. I think it is largely parenting. Congrats mama!!

  • @kristimh80- yay for hearing the HB! Always amazing! As for the flu shot, I always get it so I will this year, but my OB said it seems some of the immunity passes to the baby if that sways you at all!

@tosh24- thank you so much for sharing! I am in a similar situation with all sisters on both sides so just didn’t grow up or have many experiences with boys. Hearing about your boy does make me so excited! I think it’s just hard bc my husband wanted a girl too since our friends girls just take to him so well. I know he will be an awesome boy dad too and I hope we can have both a mommas boy and daddy’s boy. We def are going to parent on the stricter side after seeing our nephews and my SILs parenting :)

@polythenepam- thank you also for commenting! It really does make me feel better and so many parents of both boys and girls have told me the same thing!! I have to believe it’s true!!

what is interesting is that we still have 8 frozen embabies (one perk of Donor eggs!) so we could go back and PGS test for our second if we wish- it would just cost 8k so probably not! It would be nice to select the gender of baby 2 someday but also after going through a vanishing twin it would be amazing to have a lower chance of another loss... lots to consider!

  • @JamieH2000 science is so amazing! My friend is PGS testing and they’ll be putting in a boy if it’s an option (they have 2 IVF girls, no PGS that round). Since we have one of each we’d let it be a surprise if we do it again but we had a lot of talks of “what WOULD we pick??”

@JamieH2000 congrats on your great anatomy scan! Sorry about the anterior placenta - I have one too. I didn't feel much of anything at all until the day before I hit 24 weeks, so it's coming! Now I feel him all the time! And hooray for little boys!

@kristimh80 I had been going back and forth on the flu shot as well. It can be a tough decision! I decided not to get it. Both DH and I never get the flu shot, and we've never had the flu. We are just wary of the shot and know that it's a guessing game anyways as to whether or not it will be effective. We will keep up our regular habits of washing hands and keeping things clean and, if one of us does get sick, wearing a face mask around the baby. Sending you support for whichever decision you end up going with!

  • @mag1cbeli3ver Thank you so much for responding...it makes me feel a lot better! I'm still leaning towards not getting it. I did the good ole google search and of course found the worse cases that could ever possibly happen, but one was written by an actual doctor herself. That alone scared me away, even if there's a small % anything can happen. Like you said its a "guess" on what strains will be the worst. I never get it either and don't like idea of pumping any more shots into me while pregnant. MH keeps telling me to talk to others, but it's one of those things I feel if in yout gut doesn't feel right, then nope! :)

  • @2MomsHoping hello hello! And congratulations? I'm not familiar with this section of the forums so I hope I'm interpreting the "new mommies" right.

  • @kristimh80 my OB highly recommended the flu shot while I was pregnant, since some of the immunity passes to the baby. Infants can’t  get the flu shot until they are 6 months so are unprotected during flu season until then. While DH and I rarely get the flu, we didn’t want to be confined to our house to minimize germs until Abigail can get the flu shot and know people can be idiots and still be out and about when they are sick.  Just my thoughts/experience. If your gut is telling you to hold off, trust your gut!

  • While I did get a flu shot last fall/winter when I was pregnant and just got this year's, I think the flu shot is probably one of the shots that has a bit more controversy around whether or not it's effective. Last year's shot was very ineffective because one of the strains mutated after the vaccine was made -- we don't know what's going on with this year's yet. I still think it's important to get it -if- you are comfortable with it and know how you react to shots, esp. if you are pregnant.

I do, however, recommend that everyone get their tdap booster for whooping cough protection. We can carry whooping cough around (and often do) without getting sick, but babies get very sick from it and will catch it from people who carry it but aren't sick. I was planning to get mine around 36 weeks (they recommend third trimester mid to late), but baby arrived 35 weeks so we got it at her first doc's appt. They could have given it in the hospital but the nurses said it would take forever for the doctor to order it and the pharmacy deliver it; it took two days in the hospital before they finally were on track about giving me -my- medicines (prenatal + prozac). Since we were discharged 48 hours after she was born, we just got it at her first well check the following day. Most pediatrician offices will offer it to parents of a newborn and some OB's will as well.
