This is my first time posting and also my first IVF cycle. I’m 37 and my husband is 42. We had been trying to conceive for 1.5yrs before we found out that we had severe male factor. He tried to have a corrective surgery with no success so we moved forward with our first (and likely only) cycle last month. We had 15 eggs retrieved, 7 of which were mature and all fertilized with ICSI. Of those, we had 4 make it to day-5 blastocysts but sadly only one was PGD normal. The normal one is a 4BB embryo that we plan to transfer in the middle of October. Like everyone, im so nervous and my anxiety has gotten the best of my positive mojo. I’m an OB/GYN myself so seeing successful pregnancies daily while struggling with this has been a challenge to say the least. Any positive stories of success with only one embryo would be so helpful!
Best of luck to everyone ❤️
Re: FET 10/2018
What is your protocol? Supplements? My transfer was a medicated cycle with lupron, estrogen and PIO; supplements were prenatals, DHEA, baby aspirin.
Normal embryos have the best chance of success and they normally will only transfer one of those. I think your odds are pretty good!
Summer 2015 - no BFP yet, labs normal, referred to RE
Fall 2015 - Summer 2016 - Further testing all normal. 3 IUI's -- BFN. Recommended move to IVF. Planned cycle for fall 2016.
September 2016 - Surprise natural BFP. MMC @ 8 weeks. RE expressed confidence that we just needed the 'right' embryo.
Fall 2016 - Spring 2017 -- Break from TTC
June 2017 - Started IVF; egg retrieval for freeze all cycle. 9 mature eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized. 2 4BB embies on ice.
August 2017 - FET transfer both embies. BFP. Twin pregnancy confirmed by ultrasound. EDD 4/28/18
September 2017 - Twin B stopped developing; Twin A doing perfectly! Graduated from RE @ 10 weeks
March 2018 - Baby Girl born via C/S due to pre-eclampsia -- strong and healthy!
TTC #2
January/Feb 2021 - Freeze-all IVF cycle
March 2021 - FET of 1 PGS normal female embryo. BFP! Beta #1 156, #2 472, #3 1241, #4 5268 EDD 12/5/21 - Christmas baby!

We we are doing a natural FET because my hormone levels have been normal. They will use ovidrel to trigger my ovulation and then vaginal progesterone suppositories. My REI said there is no difference for success for natural vs medicated transfer cycles for those with normal estrogen levels.
Im taking a PNV with DHA and extra folic acid plus doing acupuncture weekly. My site offers laser acupuncture on transfer day that has been shown to increase implantation success by 6% so we are also doing that. Even if we had 2 good embryos, our place, RMANJ, only does single embryo transfer and I would’ve elected that since I know the risks associated with multiples are so much higher. Really pouring all my hope into this one little embryo.
