Where are my nerds at? I know y'all are here. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan. I'm also a nerd for musical theater, and my current obsession is still Hamilton, which IDK if that's nerdy or not, but I'mma go with it.
Harry Potter. I have a tattoo, over 60 items (figurines, t-shirts, decor, etc.), I read the books at least once a year. It's been a huge part of my life. Other than that, I am just a bit of a nerd overall. I enjoy Doctor Who, all the Marvel universe movies, and we attend Denver Comic Con every year. Not gonna get to go to next year's since it's too soon after my EDD

Horror movies. I collect horror movies and horror funko pops.
I also love Harry potter, goosebumps, and the fear street series. Pretty much anything falling under horror including kids horror im into.

Yasss. This is my Hamilton tatt. Nerdy tattoos unite!
LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars, '80s movies, classic movies, horror movies, classic literature, and Little House on the Prairie! I'm currently reading the Stormlight Archives book series, which are some great big nerd books (and they are wonderful so far).

Ahhh, I love it! Here's mine!
It's not exactly how I envisioned it (the original was botched pretty badly) so this is how it was fixed. I do love it though!

@RoseShadow873 ahhhh by Brandon Sanderson, right? I just started re-listening to the audiobooks so I could listen to the newest one and remember wth is going on. I am a huge fan of epic fantasy/sci fi books. ETA I am also a huge 80's movies nerd. Some of my more obscure faves are Joe Vs The Volcano, The Burbs, and Better Off Dead.

I'm just starting the second book! I am so impressed so far. Better off Dead is one of my favorite movies! It's so great!

I *love* Sanderson. If you haven't read any of his other stuff, I highly recommend. He also did, I think, a great job finishing off the Wheel of Time series after Robert Jordan died.
LOTR in the house! Also love musicals and horror (but it has to be "tame" like alluded horror - I love horror novels because my imagination shields me from gore/torture porn and I love American Horror Story because it's so campy but I can't do movies with tons of torture, and that seems to be the majority). Oh, a horror musical, wouldn't that be a delight??
I'm also a subversive cross-stitcher. I love crafting, especially nerd/geek themes, irony, and sarcasm. And IVF shit because... it's therapeutic.
I'm a book nerd. No matter how many bookshelves I acquire, I still can't find a place for all of my books. Also, not entirely unrelated- huge history nerd. Even more nerdy, medieval history.
I love all the Harry Potter! (And I'm probably an asshole/terrible human being because I think Hufflepuff is just the worst.) I also nerd out over reading and writing in general. Every November I attempt NaNoWriMo, and I get all excited about that and try to get everyone I know to do it with me.
@sleepy33 I was a big Doctor Who fan in the David Tennant / Matt Smith eras, but fell off with Peter Capaldi... has the Jodie Whittaker season started yet? I watched Broadchurch since David Tennant was in it, and she was good in that, but it's altogether a completely different animal from Doctor Who.

Hers hasn't started yet, beyond her big 'entrance' in the Christmas special! Capaldi grew on me, but Tennant is *my* Doctor. I also really liked him in Jessica Jones on Netflix, if you haven't caught that one yet, it's worth a watch. I'll be interested to see how DW goes this season, both with Jodi (also in Broadchurch!) and with Moffat leaving as head writer.
@brie_and_almonds I'm interested to know why you think that about Hufflepuff! I used to not want to be sorted into Hufflepuff (was originally sorted into Ravenclaw), but when I re-did the Pottermore quiz I got sorted as a Puff and realized it was SO me. I am embracing the badger lol. #hufflepuffpride

I'm a huge word nerd. If you haven't been to etymonline.com, I HIGHLY recommend it! You can look up where almost any word comes from and learn all kinds of hidden language secrets! Relatedly, also into languages, especially ancient languages.
Also D&D, some Dr. Who although I stopped watching mid 11th doctor, and I'm definitely a Hufflepuff.
Like @expandcontract anything medical related. My real nerding is all things Holocaust. I’m fascinated by how something so evil was actually real life. It sounds made up, it’s so terrible. I read everything I can about it.
Also, I enjoy looking at how far back the English monarchy goes. I think it’s insanely cool the little Middleton children know their ancestors from like, the 500s! I don’t even know any of my great grandparents names!
I’m a huge HP fan. All of the books. I have them in English and German. (They were the first books I read on my own without translation in German 15ish years ago). And I’m an enormous math geek. I belong to and facilitate lessons for a local math circle (think book club for math geeks) that meets once a month. I’m obsessed with numbers.OBSESSED. My math students (8th grade math and algebra) day that my passion for math is infectious. I really try hard to change kids’ perspectives in mathematics.
@DuchessOfCambridge have you seen this poster you can get showing all the connections among the European royal families? I'm totally going to get one some day, so don't feel bad if you're into it. I also really enjoy researching family history. It's not that hard to do if you are interested (not to trivialize if you have a reason for not doing so). Also, I went to uni with your homegirl, the Duchess, and it makes me smile to see your profile pic every day. (No, I don't know her; I am not that cool).
@brie_and_almonds as a Hufflepuff, I will still stand by your side, even though you think I’m terrible!
(I have always self identified as hufflepuff... but all the tests put me in Slytherin. Figure that.)
Also, I have participated in NaNoWriMo three times, twice successfully! I could be convinced to give it a try this year. I’m considering running it at my school for any students that want to give it a go.
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe DD2: October 2016 DC3: coming May 2019
@misskimsue that is freaking cool. I love her. I would never want her life but I think she handles it all with such grace and elegance, so impressive. H likes to remind me if I had a team of people whose job it was to help me be elegant, I probably would be too 😆 still, I think she’s great. The family history stuff is hard just because my family is from a country where record keeping is not a priority. I can kind of guess the general region they’re all from but I don’t know specifics about people. I’ll have to do a family tree project with my parents someday and see how much they know. They don’t really talk about “the old times” much though.

Ugh, that is such a Hufflepuff thing to say, obviously you sorted yourself correctly (and we all know the sorting hat takes your opinion into consideration). 😁
I'm always Ravenclaw, so I think we're natural rivals or something. I do think there are very few characters from Hufflepuff in the books... can't think of a single notable adult Hufflepuff besides Tonks.
Here's the real question for my fellow HP nerds (definitely more important than house IMO):
Do you consider Harry Potter and the Cursed Child canon?
NO. I really wanted to love it, but it felt so awkward, forced and artificial. The story line was laughable IMO. None of the characters felt like themselves. I will say I loved Scorpius though.

HP - I'm Ravenclaw, DH is Hufflepuff. He originally said he was a Hufflepuff to be funny, but no. Like, he really is. My patronus is an Otter according to Pottermore.
Also love Doctor Who, though I'm with you @brie_and_almonds, Capaldi never did it for me. I don't understand all the people who love him. Excited for the new female Doctor. Star Wars: the films created after 1990 are crap, of course. I'll take the models and puppets, please! I enjoy the Marvel movies, but I'm not super into them and don't read the comics.
Any West Wing nerds here? I’ve rewatched the series 150 times and listen to the weekly podcast and participate in forums about the podcast. I loooooove me some Aaron Sorkin.
