Canceled IVF Cycle

I'm on Day 10 of stims and we have decided to cancel my cycle and not move forward with a retrieval. My right ovary had a decent response, but my left ovary didn't respond at all. From my limited research and per my RE, this is fairly common and just bad luck. He thinks we can do better in another cycle. That said, it feels like a waste to not try at all with the eggs I have. My egg quality is poor (we had a failed IVF cycle last year with 18 eggs retrieved), so the chances that one of my current follicles is good is fairly slim. My estrogen is on the higher end, so I know there are risks with OHSS, but I'm curious if anyone else had a canceled cycle and then just tried on their own? It sounds like cabergoline is still safe to take, but they also want me to start on 7 days of cetrotide, which I'm sure would not allow us to try on our own. My RE won't convert to an IUI with more than two follicles, so that's out. Any insight would be appreciated! Thank you!
