I haven't shopped for anything but we were given a super cute onesie by my husband's best friend with little bears on the feet. But.... i'm going to see what I get our baby shower before officially deciding.
Love both of those. We had a sleeper I loved for DD, and she was also born in January. I was hoping to find another fleece sleeper I couldn't live without but I recently found something at gymboree, I won't buy yet but I'll link in another post!
Super cute!! My mother in law and sister in law has been sending us cute outfits but nothing I have wanted to use as the going home outfit. I am waiting to buy clothes until later on cause they are going crazy with clothes.
It does scream more "boy" to me so I'm thinking of asking the seller if she has a more unisex type fabric/pattern since I won't know sex until LO is here!

Saw this on Etsy. Thinking of getting this with black lettering, obviously some sort of pants, and then two hats! A hat with a bow and a hat that's boyish since we are team green.
I haven't decided if this is the coming home outfit but picked this up at carters. I didnt think about it at the time but I wish the pants had feet on them. We are team green so I can't decide if to bring just 1 unisex outfit or bring a both a boy and girl outfit.
Trying to find a coming home outfit is stressing me more than it should, lol. I found this at buybuybaby and it's so soft and adorable! But dh balked at the price ($30) so I may ask for it for Christmas for lo.
I haven't fully decided on what he's coming home in but my friend just bought this off my registry. I love it so much he will probably come home in this.
I’m still looking for sleepers I like, but if I don’t find anything I’ll probably do an outfit with one of these onesies I have. I haven’t decided if I’m going to get the same outfit for both nb and 0-3 sizes or different ones.
I got this adorable flower dress from a friend but I think we'll just come home in a sleeper since it'll be so cold. We're delivering at a Penn State hospital so I plan to find an Ohio State one.
I'm team nightgown/bow over here! So dang cute and want her to be as cozy as possible. Not wild about the print, but I love the overall design of this:
So far we are planning on this. This guy's nickname is baby bear so it was kind of perfect but there are some REALLY cute bear outfits I've seen so it might change. Like SUPER cute. I might pick one up. But as of now I have these onsies and matching pants.
@sparkymcgeee +1 to needing to calm down. My mom lectured me yesterday as I showed her the stuff I've gotten so far (I can't help Carter's clearance when I have their cash to spend!!). Plus I have sooo many clothes from DS#1 and they will be born same week so the seasons match up giving me ZERO excuses to buy more LOL.
we thought we were done having kids so I didn't keep ANYTHING. This guy is getting almost everything new. I randomly still had a bouncer and a playpen though so at least some of the big gear is fine. I need all new clothes though so I'm picking something up here or there.
Found a gown set on zulily this weekend that is really cute. Those are my favorite newborn clothes. Gowns are an incredible invention for newborns.
@pttomato yes but I wouldn't think by much. But partially why I'm reconsidering it anyway. She'd need leggings or something underneath too. Sleeper just seems easier.
On my previous bmb, most suggested not using a gown for the ride home, because of having to pull them up. They're so cute, but not practical for January in PA. I do think most people using blankets anyways, so just pulling it up seems totally doable.
I will probably find a cute sleeper and hat to take him home in. We did the same with DD and it was the easiest thing ever.
Also, just a recommendation but I wouldn't do a gown because then you have to pull it up buckle the car seat, not a huge deal but just extra work IMO. Also, wait until the last minute to dress the baby because 1. blow outs happen and 2. Some babies (like mine) run hot and hate clothes.
So I got an email that Etsy was having a 10% cashback deal through Ebates (Canada) today so I decided to try and find something to order today. Found this set which is perfect for Team Green and purchased it. Coming home outfit - check!

@tosh24 can you post the link? I may copy you. That's super cute and I didn't know a "coming home outfit" was a thing until opening this thread roughly 30 seconds ago so.....yeah
This a link from the Canadian etsy site but she's an American seller so you can find her on etsy.com. I was only looking at sellers that would ship to Canada so you may be able to find other American shops that sell similar outfits for cheaper, 'cause this one was definitely overpriced.

We’re also team “baby bear” (each of my boys has a special stuffie and lovie with a different animal- DS1 bunny, DS2 puppy, DS3 monkey) and I had fun yesterday buying bear-themed sets off Carter’s clearance. I bought one P, one NB, and one 0-3 so we’re covered no matter what. And of course some little caps with ears!
@galactickates that’s a good idea! I’m sure you’ll score a lot of cute goodies! I also got a simple gray footie sleeper with a little bear on it, in case we don’t feel like fussing with onesies yet lol.
And just a note for anyone who didn’t know this topic was a thing or feels overly stressed about it: with DS2&3 I had picked out some super cute sleepers as coming home outfits, but we wound up being at the hospital longer than expected and went through all the outfits we packed. At the end of the day they still came home looking like cute little newborns and they had plenty of chances to wear their “official” coming home outfits later. Really no big deal.
@kmvisioli DD is an owl, DS1 is an elephant, and the baby I lost last fall was a peacock. I didn't have an animal in mind yet for my other lost angels before they were gone. You make me feel less weird now. So thank you for that.
@sparkymcgee ha! Glad I’m not the only one either ours started because DS1 picked out this big stuffed bunny when he was around 1-yr-old and has loved it like crazy since then. I picked out similar cute stuffies for the next two, and somehow they really just suited them. Yours have such fun ones!
I have some outfits (w hats) marked on Etsy and would love to order as soon as we have a name...ideally. @Jackiemxoxo I also marked that one under potential going home outfits!
I found An outfit where the hat is personalized. We have two names we love and probably won’t decide until she’s born. I’ve reached out to the seller to see if I could purchase two hats with the two names so we could still have a personalized option but also keep our ability to make a last minute decision.

These are some options but still hoping to find a sleeper I love!
