Never ending indigestion as per usual. LG hangs out breech a lot so she kicks my cervix which is awesome. I'm swelling like CRAZY. Debating messaging my OB or just asking at my next appt.

    No appts until 4 Oct.

    Rant: GO AWAY FLORENCE

Sort of. We got some stuff on clearance from TRU when they closed so we won't need much for holiday shopping this year.

    EDD? 1/23/19

Symptoms? Leg cramps for dayyyys. Also exhaustion and heartburn.

     Upcoming appointments? Sometime in October

R/R/Q: Super excited for a consignment sale and weekend at my BFFs. Too bad it's only Monday.

GTKY: Have you started your holiday shopping yet? I've started bookmarking things on Amazon and thinking of what I'll get DS. I don't want to buy him a ton, but I do want him to have a few things to open. I'm thinking cheap items like playdoh.

@kns1988 my leg cramps are getting worse! I've started my magnesium and got some of the lotion but it's killing me. Also, we wanted a five gift rule for DS. He gets something he wants, something he needs, something to wear, something to read and then a gift from Santa. Keeps us from going over board AND he's the only grandchild so he get spoiled anyway.

    EDD? 1/31

    Symptoms?
Heartburn, acid reflux AF. Achy hips if I don't sleep with my pregnancy pillow. Also had some anxiety last night and it really effing sucks not being able to take my prescription when that flares up - there's only so much a bath & cup of tea can do. (Especially when SO tells me to "take a chill pill". Uhhh yeah, wish I could. Lol don't worry, he paid dearly for that one.)

    Upcoming appointments?
None until mid October when I take my glucose test. I saw where they store the drink, and it's definitely not in a fridge lol.... Yay.

     R/R/Q:
Not sure if this will turn into a rave or a rant, but my boss told me today (ahem, would have been nice to know before I'm half-baked, but beggars can't be choosers) that they're figuring out their plan for my maternity leave. I have been very up front about needing & taking 12 weeks, so I know it's pay-related. We're a small company so they aren't required to do anything, but luckily we just hired someone who used to work HR and he's been really pushing them to make a move. If they lowball the shit out of me it's going to be disappointing, but I've been saving/planning as though I will go 3 months no pay - so really anything at all is an improvement. Stay tuned y'all.

GTKY: Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Lmao not even close. My family is super low-expectation in terms of gifts so I'm thinking they'll expect even less this year. Might do something fun and meaningful w/the baby & pregnancy - no idea what that'll be, but sounds cheap and cool haha.

Occasional insomnia, but I slept through the night twice last week (didn’t even get up to pee)! Uncomfortable hips; some belly cramping this week, it was probably growing and stretching.
I wonder if my iron is low and that’s contributing to my exhaustion. I was told it was low after my glucose test blood draw when I was pregnant with DS.

Rant: my house is cluttered right now; I have no energy to clean it.
Also, I got a bill in the mail from when I went to Urgent Care back in April. It couldn’t have come at a worse time since I’m trying to pay on these OB bills.

Rave: One of my favorite clothing stores had a 50% off baby sale this weekend, so I got several cute knotted hats and baby booties.

Shopping? I got a few things for family members during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’m a big proponent of Cyber Monday and usually knock out most of my shopping then.

@saltedcaramel518 oof +1 to clutter & no energy. I had big plans for my house this weekend... I build 1 cabinet from Amazon, unpacked 2 boxes & called it a day lol. One of these days I'll bust out my autumn décor, but it sure wasn't this last weekend.

    EDD? 1/30

Symptoms? So much tiredness. Nausea is at a 4/10 -- vast improvement! Baby movement seems more noticeable...

Upcoming appointments? I have a F/U today bc my dumb drs scheduled my appointments on Fri on top of each other and couldn't coordinate them to work while I was already there (eyeroll). Will also have an EKG sometime soon (just for BP stuff). They prob need to recheck my thyroid and iron...

R/R/Q: let me just say I can't wait until universal electronic medical records are a thing. I don't know how it's so difficult to coordinate it all (BTW, I work in medical insurance data management), but it's a giant PIA to see a new specialist who knows jack crap about your existing conditions *even though the notes and labs are all in your chart and your at the same damn hospital*. BC, you know, I looooove detailing all of my PG losses to new doctors each time. And remembering all of my medications and doses. And trying to quick recall prior surgery dates while I'm up in stirrups.

GTKY: Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Not really (unless you count buying stuff for baby). We have a big art fair in a couple of weeks and I usually pick up several gifts there. The rest will be all Amazon / Cyber Monday. (I say this and will get tempted to go out on Black Friday. Damned FOMO)

    EDD?
    1/24

    Symptoms?
I've started getting shortness of breath if I sit reclined.

    Upcoming appointments?
I have my monthly appt with the NP on Thursday. It's still weird to me that I'm "high-risk," yet I've only seen an OB once.

R/R/Q: DD has a cold and was up screaming a lot of last night because apparently acetaminophen didn't help.

I'm super jealous of everyone who is starting to get fall weather. I'm ready for it to not be in the 80s.

GTKY: Have you started your holiday shopping yet?
Hahahaha. My mom's birthday is on Tuesday and I just ordered her gift yesterday. I don't know what to do for DD, she doesn't really play with toys and really doesn't need any more clothes.

@pttomato Ha, my mom's birthday was September 2, and I still haven't gotten her a gift.  :D Granted I was waiting until we were going to see each other (we live 2.5 hours away).. which is this Friday, so I need to get on that.

@pttomato ugh I agree with you on the weather... it is still in the 90s here and not going to change...
@ladystout08 I really like that gift idea. Our rule growing up was less than 200 dollars so you had to decide if you wanted a bigger gift or smaller ones. I don’t want to go over board during the holidays especially when I know my in laws will.

    EDD: 1/23

Symptoms: constipation still. Nausea is getting better but I still have to take unisom at night. Also I am going to the bathroom allll the time. Is that still normal?

    Appointmenr: October 10th

RRQ: DH and I decided this weekend that we would just go ahead and put the crib in the nursery and use it for naps during the day. We decided to use the pack n play at night until we move her.
Of course the minute we decide this my in laws offer to buy a Snoo and I just couldn’t accept it... we just felt like it was too much money for such a short period of time and if they were willing to spend that kind of money we need a lot of other things. I of course almost had an anxiety attack telling them this though because I worry so much I am going to make them mad or upset and it is going to cause issues...

I just realized today I was going to have to fit in budgeting for gifts on top of buying baby stuff... I would like to do some cute baby related stuff for my in laws but that gives me an anxiety that something might happen.

@cait32 we do it, but DS is still so little that we can start the habit early. Maybe there's a big enough age difference between your DSS and DD that she won't notice a gift disparity. Plus, as DSS gets into being a teenager, gifts get less plentiful but more expensive, so you'll have a reason to cut back on the quantity.

@cait32 we're starting to get it now as she moves north. We're only expected to get a couple of inches of rain and I hope they're right b/c we can't handle much more than that. We got about 43" of rain in the month of August and the ground hasn't been completely dry in weeks. Also, we do the want, wear, need, read with DS. I love it b/c it keeps us in check and the child has too much stuff already.

Follow up on the holiday shopping...I want to try to implement the “something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read” thing with DD and future babies, but DSS is 12 and DH has never been good about minimal giving (like, we have unopened gifts from Christmas’ Past)...it’s felt like it’s a competition with divorced parents. So I’m going to still try to implement it w DD and we’ll see if it sticks. Anyone else done it?
I intended to do it last year (DS was 19 months), but we ended up getting him one gift that was pretty expensive, so we gave him that and one other smaller gift and filled his stocking. So, I'll attempt round 2 on the want/need/wear/read this year. DS has 2 sets of grandparents that go overboard with gifts for him, so we definitely keep it pretty scaled back with our gifts.

+1 to the leg cramps, tiredness, and heartburn!!!

It’s been a while since I did these check ins!

     EDD? 1/24

Symptoms? See above! Add headaches to that and bloody nose.

Upcoming appointments? October 4th and 5th - follow up scan* from anatomy and regular 24 week appt w OB. *scan every 4 weeks at the antenatal testing center bc I have a history of preterm delivery.

R/R/Q: First time having anterior placenta and these kicks from baby feel sooo weird and super low. I hope the kicks feel higher as he gets bigger. I’ve been peeing a lot more frequently this time around - partly due to him kicking my bladder all the time! Also, we are still at a loss for baby names. DH and I can’t agree on a name we both like. Lastly, I am soooo over work. Like why am I even putting in so much effort right now? Why. I feel like first trimester tiredness kicked in as of late and I feel like doing nada.

GTKY: Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Ooooh, no! I still have yet to figure out what DD and my dog will be for Halloween as in I’ll prob get their Halloween costume earliest on 10/20 (um, procrastinators unite - anyone?)
