How many kids do you already have? Ages? One ds, he will be 2 in January

How are your other kids doing this week? Really good, hes at such a fun age, he’s a whirlwind and never stops! It’s so fun seeing him learn new things. He’s also decided that he likes using the big boy potty, so this should be interesting.

    Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Nothing yet

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received? Haha this is hard to think of on the spot! I’ve been told I’m really good at decorating?

@kvh22 thank you! That’s very sweet of you to say. I totally agree that a good boss makes all the difference! At my old company I had 7 bosses in 9 years (a couple bad, the rest great) and the great ones are definitely why I stayed as long as I did!

@secicc12 We went camping over Labor Day and he spent the night in grandma and grandpa's camper on a pullout without falling out.  His crib/bed is closer to the ground, so we figured he'd be safer in his bed than he was in the camper...lol!

How many kids do you already have? Ages? 1 boy, he'll be 5 in October

How are your other kids doing this week? He's an awesome kiddo, per usual. He has no idea I'm pregnant, though.

Good! Sleeping well, super funny, enjoying preschool
    Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions?
Wish I could have the energy to potty train this early but I just can’t. Daycare does some potty training but I don’t follow up at home.
GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received?
oh boy let’s see... not sure if I can think of anything haha. If this is not baby related, I’d say: that I’m smart?? Lol. I’m in nursing school and at 33 years old one of the oldies. Guess the youngins think I’m smart? Sorry that was lame. I’m exhausted, just had two exams and I’m a zombie dealing with a toddler too.

How far along are you? How big is baby? 4+6 to 5+1 no one knows lol, red lentil

How many kids do you already have? Ages? 1 DD, 2 in Nov

How are your other kids doing this week? She's great. She's so ornery lol. She's testing lots of boundaries. She brought home a cold (which I came down with 2 days after BFP so cue freak out), and we're still recovering from that. To force her to rest we laid in my bed and watched lots of movies all day for the past few days so now she wakes up saying "watch a movie! Watch a MOVIE!" Oops.  She's into Cars 3 (because it's on netflix) and Lilo and Stitch right now.

Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions?  Are your early pregnancy symptoms similar or different to your previous pregnancy/ies so far?

I still don't really have many symptoms, which I guess is how my pregnancy with DD started out, but the no symptoms thing is always concerning.

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received? Hmmm... I don't know if I've ever really gotten any outstanding compliments. People we saw at other people's weddings years later made a point to tell us the food at our wedding was the best they'd ever had and my dress was so gorgeous. It's nice that those things stood out for people since those were things that were important to us at our wedding!

@zuuls_mom aww that's adorable! I'm too superstitious to talk to DD about the pregnancy yet. I think we're probably going to wait until after the A/S.

@kvh22 I'm already getting RLP when I get up after sitting or laying down for a while, but I didn't need a support belt last time.

@breweber2010 are you having any symptoms that would indicate twins? When is your first scan?

@aels12 are you potty training already? We're going to do it when we get back from the big wedding trips at the end of October. I'm kind of really nervous.

@DressageDarling what's your set up for daily painting? I hate mess, but I feel like I need to do more crafty things with DD.

@secicc12 good luck with the nap transition! It's hard on everyone.

Love hearing all of these compliments!

@poshspice Thanks! I'm feeling it when getting up from sitting, too. For some reason, lots of walking/running bothered me in addition. Hate that you're feeling it but glad I'm not alone. As far as symptoms compared to last time, I actually read that most women (at least report that they) feel less nauseous in future pregnancies so I'm hopeful it won't be as bad - but, if you had morning sickness last time, you'll likely have some this time. I didn't get much in the way of symptoms until 6 weeks last time aside from being tired which is holding true for this time for now.

@mrsdee15 DD started taking a step here and there at 11 1/2 months, then putting it together at 12 months when encouraged (3-4 steps and then falling/jumping into your arms) and now can drunkenly walk across the room (sometimes) at 12 1/2 months. I've heard some kids go from nothing to almost running like *that* and others progress more slowly. DD is a super fast crawler so she'll get frustrated with how long it's taking to get where she's going, slowly sit down, and then speed crawl, instead.

@mrsdee15 DD was just what @kvh22 described. She wasn't walking at 12 months, took a single step at 13 months and now is basically running at 14 months. So interesting how they all progress so differently.

@kvh22 DD does exactly what you're describing with speed crawling, I wonder if she's also noticed she's just faster when she books it while crawling.  Also, the drunk walking description keeps cracking me up.

@secicc12 Thank you for that!  It is nice to hear that others waited to walk as well, it seems like there's such a huge range for "normal" and I feel like that doesn't really get mentioned with milestones.

@mrsdee15 thank you for saying that! You just made my day  <3 Also, my son didn't start walking until 15 months. Like, at all. He was so lazy lol. He just preferred crawling everywhere since it was faster and then one day it just clicked that he wanted to walk!

@mrsdee15 I agree! At her 12 month appointment, they had walking on one of the milestone lists. I was like uhhh not even close yet. It used to worry me when she was "behind" in certain areas, but then she'd catch up shortly after. Don't stress!

@poshspice We have a little Pillowfort table in our living room. I just pour tiny amounts of washable paint in Dixie cups and give him q-tips instead of brushes. It makes clean up a breeze, which is probably the only reason we do it so often. I’ve bought him a few of those dollar section painting kits from Target too and just swap for our paints since I learned the hard way that those are not washable.

@poshspice I wouldn’t say we are full on potty training, I think he’s too young to really do it yet, but we are taking advantage of him wanting to go! We just ask him every now and then if he needs to go potty and if he says yes or nothing we try, and he is so proud of himself when he does it! If he says no we don’t push it. Haha we have no idea what we are doing.

How many kids do you already have? Ages? one daughter - she is 9 months  :D:o

How are your other kids doing this week? Pretty good. She's healthy, happy, and sleeps through the night so I can't ask for more. But, we're trying to increase her finger foods right now and it's not going great. She only ate half of what I packed for daycare yesterday so I'm worried she's not eating enough. I know we're still learning but this is just our latest obstacle. To be continued.

Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I recently put on a little bit of weight (or maybe bloat?) right in my stomach area. It happened really quickly in the weeks before I got pregnant. I like to think my hormones are just a mess and it was something related to that, because otherwise my lifestyle is pretty healthy. It's been pretty discouraging but then once I found out I was pregnant, I was kind of relieved that I was going to be growing in that area anyway. I'm pretty excited to have a big pregnant belly again.

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received? Many people will check out my instagram or snapchat story or whatever and see that our baby comes with us to most places (restaurants/bars, overnight trips, parties - all within reasonable hours of course) and we've received a ton of compliments about how cool that is and about how people want to be parents just like us. I love that!

How far along/how big is baby?
4+6 size of a poppy seed

    How many kids\ages?
2 boys ages 3.5 and almost 2(end of the month)

How are the other kids doing this week?
Super busy. DS1 started preschool a few weeks ago and I taught his Sunday School this week and noticed a huge difference in ability to focus. Super proud of him. DS2 is talking quite well and nonstop. But he is pushing and hitting more and was spitting at daycare today

    Rants/raves? Concerns?
Trying to figure out how to tell people.

    Compliment?
Nothing specific, but always great when someone comments on my boys’ behavior and abilities.
Also, at work (I’m a RN) when a patient is super appreciative and sweet.

Ohhh q-tips are such a good idea! Thank you! I've been wanting a quick clean up way to let my daughter paint.

ETA: The above was a response to @DressageDarling

How far along are you? How big is baby? I'm supposedly 3 weeks 3 days. My OB was very surprised that I got a positive that early. So she ordered bloodwork. We'll see what that says.

How many kids do you already have? Ages? I have one daughter 19 mos.

How are your other kids doing this week? She's doing great! I'm kind of in shock though. Today, I walked away literally for 5 seconds and she was on top of the dining table! Supposedly, she's been doing that with my MIL when I'm at work but that was the first time I witnessed it and I almost had a heart attack! I don't know how to baby proof a dining table! :scream:

Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Not really. Just been very crampy today.

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received? When I was pregnant with my daughter, family members would tell me that they hope she's as beautiful as I am. This was a shock because these people never before told me I was pretty. Unless they were dissing me? LOL. I don't know.

How many kids do you already have? Ages? 2 girls, 4 and almost 2.

How are your other kids doing this week? Ok... DD1 started kindy last week and was a complete mess over the weekend, but we're back to routine this week and things are going well. DD2 started the week with a fever, but seems to have swung back to herself today. I often feel like we're muddling through, but they always seem to come out ok.

Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? A rave - I am so happy to be back at work. I work at a public school and was off work for the summer. I am the first to admit I am not a natural stay-at-home mom and by the end of the summer I was going a little crazy. I feel so good being back at work, reading stories to kids and putting books in their hands.

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received? We were living with my parents this summer while we renovate and my mom told me was amazed by my patience with the girls, especially when DD1 is melting down. I've heard this before and I always love to hear it. While I don't feel like being a stay-at-home mom is good for ME, I do think I'm still pretty good at being their mom and have worked hard to develop my patience with them.

@expandcontract hmm I got a pretty clear positive on a FRER at 3w+4 and actually got a really faint line on a cheapie the day before that I didn't count b/c I was like "it could be an evap line, it's so early." I went in for blood work the next day and was at 62miu. Im actually due 3 weeks later than my LMP according to O, hence the blood test. My OB was more skeptical aboit the timing than that I could get a positive. She asked if I wanted to so a second beta to make sure the numbers are rising but I declined. I've been testing with cheapies every day and it's been getting darker so I think I'm good.

@k2k2tog that's a great compliment from your mom! I aspire to be that way when DD is older.

@kvh22 So when i got the BFP I was at 3w3d, i think. The line was faint. I did POAS twice after that to make sure the line was getting darker, which it is.  I just got my hcg back from Monday and it was 170. I'm going in for another today.  I thought it was pretty early,  too, to get a positive.  But I don't know how having a very short cycle plays into all this.

@poshspice I’d say my symptoms are pretty different this time around. I’m getting winded easily and I have some nausea already, which I didn’t get until about week 7 last time. On the plus side my boobs aren’t as sore and I don’t have as much fatigue.

How far along are you? How big is baby? 5+1, Appleseed

How many kids do you already have? Ages? One boy who is almost 14 months.

How are your other kids doing this week? He’s a ball of energy, but unfortunately we’ve been stuck inside most of the week because of the rain. We’ve been trying to keep busy with indoor activities, but it’s just not the same as getting outside. Tmrw we will go to a mommy+baby group thing so hopefully that will help us both!

    Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions?
    Nothing springs to mind

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received?
I once had a college professor describe one of my essays as “insightful yet whimsical” and I got a kick out of that. Couldn’t tell you what the essay was about now, though!

How far along are you? How big is baby?  I don't know how big baby is but I am 6 weeks and 1 day

How many kids do you already have? Ages? 1 DD who just turned 3

How are your other kids doing this week? She is doing great, she started pre-school yesterday and did really well but there is a bit of backslide with her potty training she had 3 accidents so I am hoping it was just the transition to a bigger school.

Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I don't think so, I had an IUI to get pregnant and have not called my OB yet because my specialist is seeing me through until 8 weeks I am thinking I should stil call my OB and get some appointments ready even though I am being watched by the reproductive specialist.

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received? I have been told I am really good at what I do (I am a counselor) it always feels good to know that you are making a difference in people's lives.

How are your other kids doing this week? Pretty good. We started a new preschool for DD last week. We were off for a few days with the Jewish holidays, so she just went back today. She's crying at dropoff which is terrible and makes me feel like a bad mom, but I know she will love it here when she adjusts. She recovers quickly and is so happy when I pick her up, but it makes that working mom guilt so.real.

Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? None really. About to go up to NYC for a work trip tomorrow, I hate to admit but I need a break so it's well-timed. I do have to hide this pregnancy still since it's so early, we have a work happy hour tomorrow night so I'm trying to figure out my approach. Hold a drink in my hand and just never drink it? Order something that COULD be a drink like a seltzer with lime? Or is that a dead giveaway? What would you all do?

GTKY: What was the best compliment you’ve received? I always appreciate when my mom or MIL compliments me about how I handle all the aspects of our hectic life - being a mom, a full time employee, running a household, etc. I always feel like I am failing at least one or two aspects of my life, so it's nice to hear positivity from ladies who did it well.

    Pregnancy Ticker

@bluesky24 the hiding drinking is tough. If your coworkers know you well enough to know you drink wine, I'm not sure what to suggest.  Beer and mixed drinks is a lot easier to fake. My team is mostly remote so we see each other at conferences and when we have big client dinners, team gatherings, etc. AKA there is ALWAYS alcohol when we see each other and I've been working there for almost 7 years. They know I love red wine so last pregnancy I had a cold and said I didn't want to mix the alcohol with my cold medicine and just got a fun non-alcoholic drink since we were at a wine bar. We talked about it later and my boss said she knew I was pregnant when I did that anyways so... With others who don't know my usual drink, sparkling water with a lime and a little drink straw looks like a vodka soda and that worked for DH's work happy hours, meeting casual friends out to watch football, etc. One girl even told me she respected my game for going with the hard stuff instead of beer  :D

I was wondering is anyone planning to do or already doing anything different throughout this pregnancy?

I know for myself with my first pregnancy I was able to go to the gym and yoga classes at least 3-4 times a week, I just don't see that happening this time around being busy with DD. Also last time I completely eliminated Coffee/Tea and any form of caffeine from my diet, so far now I am drinking 1 cup of coffee daily worried

Anyone else doing things differently at all, I'd love to hear!
