Re: Week 2 Check-In (9/10-9/16)

  • Due date: 3/15

Any appointments? Questions?: next appointment is at the end of the month. I’m impatiently waiting for our NIPT results.

Rants/Raves?: Rave - my boss was excited for us when I told her we’re expecting. Was a little worried since I just started in August. But went well!

How are you feeling?: improved, less nausea, but I still need to eat pretty frequently. Less exhausted in the afternoons too. Fx that this all means I’m turning the corner!

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has. Since having DS we’ve done Christmas morning at home complete with homemade cinnamon rolls. Definitely a tradition we plan to continue!

Any appointments? Questions?: How are you ever supposed to pick out a car seat?! Too many options!

Rants/Raves?: We got our NIPT results after 10 days...low risk and it's a GIRL! We are so excited, we were hoping for a baby girl <3

How are you feeling?: Still doing pretty well, every now and then I wake up at 3 am starving which makes me nauseated.

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has: I always loved making Christmas cookies and decorating them with frosting with my mom and sister. Yum cookie dough! I may just have to find an egg-less cookie dough recipe to indulge in for this year... ;)

  • Due date: 3/12 .......@smf2018 hey due date twin :)

Any appointments? Questions?: Not for another 1.5 weeks. Ready to hear babe's heartbeat again.

Rants/Raves?: First Tri Screening went great and low risk results PTL! Tiny little bump + major bloat= maternity top today cuz why not pretend its all baby ;)

How are you feeling?: way less nauseated (YASSSS). I feel really heavy down low and just really full. Any STM's feel way more pregnant than just 3 months from your first!?

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has.: New Christmas pj's to be opened Christmas eve and worn to bed for Christmas morning festivities!

  • @smf2018 Just remember that all of the car seats meet safety standards, so you can't go too wrong.  If you are getting a bucket seat think about the stroller you want - will it attach, need an adaptor, etc? I also spent a lot of time on Car Seats for the Littles.  They have a ton of reviews and good advice.

    Due date: 3/10

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appt is in two weeks.

Rants/Raves?: Trying to decide when to announce on social media. I wanted to actually announce at school before putting it on FB but our staff meeting this week was cancelled. I don't want to keep waiting to tell so I will probably FB announce anyway, which will be seen by a lot of my coworkers and then it will leak from there.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Tired for sure, but that is also from running after a toddler and a bunch of 2nd graders all day.

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has.

We do cookie baking a week or two before Christmas which is a lot of fun.

  • Due date: 3-12

    Any appointments? Questions?:

No appointments for a few more weeks.

    Rants/Raves?:

DH has really been a rockstar lately. He's been getting a ton of projects done around the house and taking care of loads of stuff that I'd been putting off while I was feeling so ill during my first tri.  <3

    How are you feeling?

I'm almost afraid to say it, but I think I might finally be past the worst of the MS. I haven't thrown up in a week, dry heaving only occasionally in the early morning, and I've got so much more energy. I was actually able to work out a couple times last week, and am on track to complete all of my workouts this week  :)

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has.

My grandma, mom, aunt, and now I make these Belgian waffle cookies that were my great-great-grandmother's recipe. We all have electric irons to cook them on now, but back in the day, she cooked them one by one on an iron over the stovetop. I actually got to use her iron once for a 4-H project about cooking heritage, which was so cool!

  • Due date: 3-16

Appt? Questions? Just had appt yesterday. Baby N looked good. Supposed to be measuring at 13w2d according to LMP. Measured at 12w2d. Mfm Dr didn't seem concerned. See Mfm again on 10-10. Also get to see baby at least 2 more time. 20 week scan and fetal echo at 24 weeks.

Rant/Raves: my wife has been so good with not telling anyone, after the appt she had to tell her sister, who has been asking for a niece/nephew since we started dating. We also told IL's so our nieces wouldn't spill the beans. They are all excited for us which is really nice. They couldn't believe we had kept it a secret this long.

How are you feeling? Dr prescribed zofran. He said if there are any heart problems they are already there and the pill wouldn't be the cause which I have comfort in. So hopefully that will help my ms.

Holiday Traditions: at my mom's we do a seafood dinner Christmas eve. Always been my favorite.

Any appointments? Questions?: FRIDAY!!! So excited to hear the baby's heartbeat for a little reassurance

Rants/Raves?: We have started to tell close friends and family which has been fun - everyone is super excited! I've been super cranky though these last couple of weeks. I get so tired at night and then lonely  since DH is gone....he's been great but definitely hate being apart

How are you feeling?: mostly just tired and cranky

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has.

I dunno how much of a tradition it is but my Mom is absolutely never ready for Christmas. My DH and I always go a day or two early and spend a bunch of time wrapping presents for her. She loves making Christmas a game...I don't even know the last time presents had names on them! Instead, she will have us wrap them different ways or wrap them different amounts of time and everyone has to guess which presents are theirs. It's a ton of fun and if you get the right present, you also win money. There are always a couple of mix-ups when she forgets what is in each present (or loses her cheat sheet) but it's always a ton of fun

  • Due date: March 12

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment isn't until October!

Rants/Raves?: I just received my annual review, written by a boss I've had for less than 2 months, and she EVISCERATED me.  I'm devastated.

How are you feeling?: still nauseous and so, so hungry. SO HUNGRY.

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has.  We started the matching pajama tradition when DD1 was a baby, but my favorite long-standing family tradition is spending thanksgiving with family friends INSTEAD of blood family.  Especially since my parents got divorced, it has made everything so much less stressful!

  • @dtspmama I am so sorry about the review! I don’t think a boss can reasonably review someone who’s only been working for them for a short period of time. I hope you have some kind of recourse, or at least a chance to discuss it and your dissatisfaction with boss.
  • @lelkcot thanks!  I found out last night that she and I are interviewing for the same job, making the review a little more transparent.  I'm thankful we have a conflict of interest policy!
  • Due date: 3/16

Any appointments? Questions?: I had an appointment on 9/10 for an ultrasound and testing. We saw the baby and I was shocked at how much s/he moved around! The ultrasound tech was going to take a guess at the gender for us but then baby rolled over and refused to turn around! Guess it’ll be a mystery until our next visit (10/10).

Rants/Raves?: We are in the process of selling our house and it seems to be taking forever to get an offer! I’m ready to shop for our new house!!

How are you feeling?: I’ve been sick with a cold this week so I’m feeling extra run down. I entered my second trimester yesterday so I’m looking forward to the decrease in fatigue. I didn’t have a ton of nausea during this pregnancy but what little I had seems to be subsiding.

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has.

We ALWAYS watch A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve. It’s not Christmas without it! And then my mom makes French toast after we open gifts in the AM. I’d like to continue this tradition!

  • @sulsulpoppyseed we're due date buddies! The ironic part is that our appt dates are the same.

  • Due date: March 10th

Any appointments? Questions?: Appt for a 16 week growth scan is the 26th with perinates. I’m excited and nervous.

Rants/Raves?: I jinxed myself yesterday with middle of the night peeing. I had t peed in the middle of the night in a week, made a comment about it yesterday and had to pee at 1:30am.

How are you feeling?: I feel pretty decent for the most part. I want to be lazy right now is my only issue. Finding motivation is lacking right now.

GTKY: Name one holiday tradition your family has: We don’t really have one. My husband won’t do the matching pj’s. We watch a lot of Christmas movies, that’s about it.

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.
Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016.
Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015.
They will be forever missed. <3
