Re: Week 3 Check In 9/10-9/16
Any appointments? Questions?: redoing our NT scan on Thursday bc baby was uncooperative. So FX that we get the measurements needed.
Rants/Raves?: Ranting because my SO keeps telling me what i should and shouldnt be eating and he is driving me nuts bc this isn't my first merry go round and i had a very healthy pregnancy with my first child. its his first but he's acting like he's a pregnancy nutritionist and wants me to watch my sugar and not get high blood pressure, but i didnt have those issue pre-pregnancy, nor am i going overboard with what i eat, whereas he is contradicting himself and trying to bring me chinese everyday. he had some lemonade ice pops last night and i asked for one and he told me we could split it since it has "so much sugar"...i almost punched him in his junk. I know hes trying to be helpful...but i'm going to hurt him if he doesn't chill.
How are you feeling?: Good., i could almost forget i was pregnant if i wasnt starving every 2-3 hours LOL
GTKY: I’m drawing a blank today. Tell me something interesting about yourself.
um...I love Beyonce'. LOL. if we have a girl, i'm going to try and see if her middle name can be Giselle like Beyonce's. lbvs.
Any appointments? Questions?: I just moved my appt up from Friday to Wednesday afternoon to try and get it done before the hurricane mess.
Rants/Raves?: This hurricane is stressing me out. Even though we’re away from where it should hit we’ll feel the winds and get a ton of rain. Our area floods a lot (not our house, just the surrounding streets) so I’m a little worried about being stranded and possibly losing power. DH isn’t really taking it seriously which doesn’t help my anxiety because I feel a little alone in preparing for it all.
How are you feeling?: Tired. Partly due to pregnancy and partly because we put our toddler in her big girl bed and she’s taking advantage of her new found freedom at 4am.
GTKY: I’m drawing a blank today. Tell me something interesting about yourself.
I played water polo for 10+ years in High School, College, and Masters Leagues.
@zionsmama85 I’m sorry YH is being so overbearing. That’s so frustrating when you’re just trying to live your life.
Any appointments? Questions?: Transferring over to the midwives practice where I had DS, intake is tomorrow. I had an appointment with them at 8 weeks but then DS got hand foot mouth and I had to cancel - this was the first thing they had open. So I've been seeing the OB at my GYN's office to get things moving in the meantime. I'm excited to have actual appointments with practitioners who will actually give a shit about my well being and not treat me like a number.
Rants/Raves?: Eh...been feeling a little low lately, like life is making decisions for me and I feel stuck. Before I found out I was pregnant we had agreed it would probably be cheaper to stay in our current house and pay for private school than double our mortgage to be in a good school district. Now, with two, we'll need to move - we can't pay for two kids to be in private school. Houses are so expensive in our area if you want to be in a good district, or else you have to move really far out of the city. It already takes me close to an hour to get to work, I don't want to increase that any more. We've talked about moving to Atlanta, where we both have family and it's a lot cheaper, but can't move cities for another 5 years because MH has shared custody of my stepson - his mother would never let us take him with us and I would never in a million years ask MH to leave him behind.
How are you feeling?: Not as nauseous today but still very tired.
GTKY: Hmmm....I worked in photography for about 5 years after undergrad before I decided to actually use my degree. I'd love to go back to photography but the corporate stuff just wasn't a good fit for me. Unfortunately it's really hard to make a reliable living doing wildlife/landscape photography!
Any appointments? Questions?: first appointment tomorrow finally!
Rants/Raves?: 13 weeks today and I’m feeling progressively worse, not better and am on 4 Diclectin a day! I’m not getting anything done and am really depressed over it.
Also we are looking at snow in the forecast this week. I’m so cold all the time I could cry!
Luckily i I have such amazing big kids. They are holding everything together for me.
How are you feeling?: siiick so siiiick. But not really pregnant at all. Just Siiiiiiick
GTKY: I’m drawing a blank today. Tell me something interesting about yourself.
I’m a serial crafter/artist. Basically if there is an art form to try... I’ve tried it or want to try it. I am also the kind of person that “master’s” something and then gets bored and moves on. I hate it. I wish I could just stick with stuff long term and get even better at it. But I start to get annoyed by the things and don’t want to do them anymore.
Any appointments? Questions?: I had a consult for the NIPT today, and the doc almost didn't approve me because he read my age wrong! Finally he said something about how it's usually only given to older moms (in the military) and I told him I am like four months away from being a "geriatric" pregnancy, and he looked so confused and pulled up my file again, and agreed to give it to me. Phew! Anyway, the bonus was that he did another ultrasound before putting in for the test since it's so expensive! Everything looked great, and I asked them to see if my SCH had resolved, and he couldn't find a trace of it. So now I get to start running and lifting again too!
Rants/Raves?: I was doing pretty well controlling my emotions until Thursday. We have a new housecleaning service (we both work so we tried one out and I will never go back! so worth it) and I was getting the stuff I needed ironed together and my husband told me this service doesn't iron. I felt like such a spoiled brat but I cried, and seethed about it all morning. I don't WANT to iron my own stuff! And since then, it hasn't taken much to set me off. But I've been meditating, which helps.
How are you feeling?: Still so happy to be here - and nausea is getting better! Still pretty tired, but the overwhelming exhaustion, where I collapse on the couch after work and can barely get up to eat or go to the bathroom, seems to have faded too.
GTKY: I’m drawing a blank today. Tell me something interesting about yourself. I used to play semi-professional field hockey. Moved to the Netherlands after playing in college to play for a club over there for a few years, then played with the national team for a year. Delayed my "adulthood" by a few years, but really grew a lot from the experience. Plus it was a blast
Due date: March 20
Any appointments? Questions?: Appointment coming up Monday.
Rants/Raves?: DD is about to turn 12 (next week) and is already in teenager mode. She has blatantly disobeyed me a couple of times this past week and I'm more sad than anything. She used to be such a happy go lucky (and eager to please) kid. On the plus side, she finally got her room deep cleaned and looking much better - though she fought me and DH every step of the way on getting it done.
How are you feeling?: Better - nausea is still there most evenings, but I barely notice it during the day if I eat regularly. If I don't eat regularly - all bets are off. I seem to be rounding a corner though so I can't wait for next week - hopefully I'll feel even better than I do now.
GTKY: I’m drawing a blank today. Tell me something interesting about yourself.
I grew up on a farm and raised bottle-fed lambs and goats. It was my first baby feeding experience!
Due date: 3/23
Any appointments? Questions?: Second appointment on Thursday
Rants/Raves?: finally told all our family and close friends, cousins, etc. I feel like I’m showing already so I’m feeling relieved that the news is out and I don’t have to hide anything.
How are you feeling?: just tired.
GTKY: Tell me something interesting about yourself.
Im from a family of seven kids
appointments: I don’t have another until the end of sept. But, I got my NIPT results back last week and ITS A GIRL! I’m thrilled. And all of the genetic testing came back great.
Rants: it’s crappy how much less excited people are for the second pregnancy. And I’ve gotten a few annoying responses like, “another?” And my FIL was a jerk about it
Any appointments? Questions?: I had my first full OB appointment yesterday, but they couldn't hear the hb with the Doppler so I'm going in again today for a quick ultrasound. So I'm hoping that brings good news!
Rants: I found out yesterday when I got my NIPT bloodwork that I am considered an "elderly" pregnancy! I've heard "geriatric" before, but this is my first time being labeled as "elderly"!
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling good, some nausea in the morning when I'm trying to eat breakfast, as well as headaches and fatigue.
Due date: 3/22
Any appointments? Questions?: We had our 12 week appt and NT scan on Tuesday. Baby looked great! NT was normal. They took blood for the NIPT so we are anxious to get good results from that and of course the gender! We want to have them write it down in an envelope and do a fun surprise reveal with our 3 yo daughter.
Rants/Raves?: Rave: The nausea and need to constantly eat seems to have subsided, yay! Rant: I gained SO much weight from the constant eating. Double digits. Yikes.
How are you feeling?: So much better. Still a bit fatigued.
GTKY: I’m drawing a blank today. Tell me something interesting about yourself. Kind of random but I'm from the midwest but I'm obsessed with all things southern. I love New Orleans & Louisiana and want to go to Charleston/South Carolina in the near future.
