Re: WTF Wednesday

  • Started this so I can roll my eyes at the posters in my FB Mom group. You have no idea how many “is this a line?” PG tests I’ve seen in the last week.... yesterday someone posted a pic of their LOs face covered in boogers wondering about some home remedy... DH said “why don’t you respond and say ‘a tissue might help’”  :D

who am I kidding this is obviously the reason I still lurk

  • At my OB appointment this morning, I was behind 2 ladies (mother and daughter - 30s and 50s) who could not for the life of them figure out how to put coins in the parking machine in the lobby to stamp their ticket. As luck would have it, I ended up behind them at the parking gate, and they again could not effing figure out how to insert their ticket to lift the gate. First the mom got out of the van and couldn't figure it out, then the daughter got out of tbe van and also couldn't figure it out. They held up the whole line while they tried to move their car to the side. I finally pulled up to the machine, and there is a big ass slot (only one) right in the middle of the box that says "Insert Ticket Here" with a red arrow. In goes the ticket and out of the parking lot I drove. It really wasn't that hard......

  • @tosh24   Some people's children!

I already stated my WTF: being too sick to move 10 feet.
  • My coworker who was a grade level above me quit about 6 months ago and I have been doing her job as well as my own since then. I was supposed to be given a promotion this fall since I’ve been doing the job anyways. They just sent out an email today basically saying that they’re recalibrating the grade levels and now I’m not eligible for promotion anymore. I was really counting on getting that raise since it was basically promised to me and now I’m super annoyed
  • WTF appliances in my house!!!!!!!!! A few weeks ago, our washer died. Now, I'm dealing with a dishwasher that has leaked all over our newly refinished hardwood floors. I'm so overwhelmed with it all I've just been spontaneously bursting into tears.
  • @PolarBear517 My FB Mom Group can be pretty annoying too. Instead of posting pictures in the comments they will post pictures of their kids’ bodily fluids, poop, rashes, etc. in the main post. Or they will post all of their drama followed by “if you know me, please don’t say anything.”
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I swear most of the kids on my local FB moms group are super advanced geniuses. And then someone will post something like, “my child isn’t walking yet at 18 months, should I be concerned?” and someone will comment with “my child walked at 7 months.” How is that helpful?
    Lilypie Maternity tickers
  • Sounds like we are all in the same local mom FB group, ha! My favorite is every few months something will blow up about a post (vaccines) is a common debate and then the admin will go crazy and tell everyone to act like adults or they will close the group. The group never actually closes down.
  • No longer Wed, but my doc called in the Rx on Wed, so I'm counting it... WTF to my OB who called in Ampicillin for my UTI.. Ampicillin is an old as dirt antibiotic that you have to take 4x a day on an empty stomach (1 hr before meals or 2 hrs after meals). WTF I'm pregnant and am hungry basically all day! If you take it with food it can decrease the absorption and may not be effective.. and this is my 3rd course of antibiotics for this stupid UTI. I get that ampicillin will be effective against the UTI if taken correctly, but why not call in amoxicillin?!? Same class of antibiotic and its only twice a day and it doesn't matter if you take it with food or not..

Lol, angry pharmacist rant here.. I may have called the OB office to see if they will switch it.. and if they don't, I am tempted to have hubby switch it for me...
  • @Mandamay1414 I'm thinking your hubby is a pharmacist or something like it, so I'm probably not going to be very helpful... But. I got a UTI and dosed heavily on cranberry supplements, as recommended by the midwife. I can keep taking them. UTI disappeared without antibiotics.
  • @leighbrek thanks for the suggestion. I don't mind taking antibiotics for it, but I think I'm mostly annoyed that my Dr. didn't consider how difficult it would be to comply with this particular one when there are other choices.
  • @Mandamay1414 Nah, totally get it! It was a real brain fart on his part.
