It's either my last or second to last week on the board, so I'm getting us started.
*******************************************
Congrats to all our Mamas that had babies last week!
This is a weekly check in for the mamas who have made it to the 3rd trimester!!! If you are in week 28 or past, feel free to join in on the weekly fun.
Re: 3rd Trimester Check In Week of 9/3
39.5 (!!) Due Thursday. If baby doesn't show up this week, we're looking at inducing next weekendish.
How is everyone feeling this week?
I'm feeling impatient and also not bad. Been having lots of contractions, but nothing is developing or moving closer together. Lots of BH as well. Some low back pain. DH and I were out at a coffee shop yesterday and this woman says, "I'm an OBGYN if you need any assistance." And then she launches into how her 10 yr old saw me and said, "Mom, that woman looks like she needs a membrane sweep." Hahahaha. I guess she has women at her house all the time and the kid is very used to it all. Her other advice was send your husband home to get some rest, since at least one of you should rest, and then the nurses will think he's a jerk and be nice to you. She also said the Breast Friend is the best nursing pillow and you should bring it with you to the hospital and they'll help you learn to breast feed with it. It was a funny conversation.
Any upcoming appointments?
NST and acupuncture wed. That woman convinced me. I think I should call and see if I can get a membrane sweep. She says it can keep you from having to be induced, so we'll see.
GTKY: Today I had a very lazy day. Actually slept a lot last night, read a bunch, now doing some baking and sewing some burp cloths. Trying really hard to just relax and rest bc it could be any day! Yesterday, I did do a brunch with some work friends who I won't see for a while.

How is everyone feeling this week?
I'm sick as a dog. I don't have bronchitis, yet, but it has the potential to turn into that. I have to talk to my Dr today about what antibiotics I can take. Most need the liver to help break them down and mine isn't functioning properly thanks to ICP. It may be I just have to hope I get better before it gets worse. The worst part is I get contractions every time I cough, which just makes it more miserable.
Any upcoming appointments?
I see my OB today for weekly monitoring. We will be talking about when I'm starting NSTs, and delivery. Hopefully he can give me some insight on how to get better. I've been more and more contractions, which is probably due to being sick, but I want to mention it to hI'm.
GTKY: How was your Labor Day weekend? Anything fun?
I've been sick all weekend, so I've berm miserable. Luckily, H took this week off, so he can be parent #1 to ds while I'm sick. It's hard to parent a toddler when you can't speak.

@Dragonfly6191 that sounds stressful! Glad you got cleared and had a good long weekend to recover!
@wildrainbow hope you feel better soon
@chicandbubbly a low key weekend sounds lovely!
Also, dumb question, where do we are go now to post and keep in touch. The PAIF Graduate new mommy monthly thread?

How far along? EDD? 39+2

How is everyone feeling this week?

Pretty good most of the day, but now it's the end of what felt like a long work day, plus errands on the way home, and I am just spent. My colleagues are having a little shower of sorts for me after work tomorrow, but after that, I feel like I need to plan my exit. Not that I can't be at work, but I just feel like I need to give myself a chance to be home, nesting, relaxing and preparing to meet baby. I don't like having all my best energy spent at work, and coming home with nothing left for myself and my baby. Picked up a pack of chux pads this evening so, now, I feel ready to welcome labour any time.

Any upcoming appointments?

39 week cu Thursday with the last doctor I haven't met yet, had chiro today, and probably Thursday too. We also had another doula come over yesterday, to give us some tips and let us use her rebozo. She may or may not be available to be on call at such short notice, so we may have to play it by ear, but her tips and advice were really helpful! Now just to do our HW... She told us to BD every day until I go into labour, but so far that hasn't happened yet! <<insert JT gif>>>

GTKY: How was your labor day weekend? Anything fun?

SIL and MIL came over to help us with some things around the house! MIL hemmed some curtains I had so we can hanger them on the kitchen door instead of the makeshift thing we had up since we moved in. SIL helped me with the nursery decals, and they both stocked our chest freezer with tummy meals. Plus, gave my hair a much needed trim, and got the pack 'n play set up. Feeling much better about things overall, though there's still more i need DHs help with, and i need to get my diapers washed. That would be my perfect Friday honestly, just washing diapers and getting them organized! Plus a Target run ;) so we'll see... And then clean! Omg whether we had a cleaning person come over, or if Sil were to descend upon my house again and work her magic, I would be in heaven.

Sending out positive vibes to @sarzee2. I think you were induced yesterday.
AFM, still getting contractions, but only about once an hour and they aren't developing. I thought last night was the start, even called my doula, but turns out my body is just playing tricks on me. So easy to get excited. Had my NST today and everything was fine. Going to 2x/week starting next week and will do a membrane sweep monday. I think I kind of get to choose when to be induced, so I'm thinking a week from satruday, which will be 41+2. I think we'll schedule next monday. I'm nervous about going much longer but I don't want to be too aggressive and just trying to be patient. It is so hard to give over all control! Come on baby, make your appearance. It doesn't help that I have 2 weeks of parents and in-laws coming starting saturday and for some reason DH and I are at each other's throats. I'm just like, ahhhh. This is supposed to be a nice time--I'm on maternity leave and chilling. I guess not sleeping and anxiety about not being in control is contributing. Anyway, sorry for the vent. Off to watch some Shameless to take my mind off things.

Calling my managers actually went surprisingly well. Had my 39+4 c/u, and although I was freaked out at first, I'm glad I had my first internal check: 2.5cm dilated and 50% effaced! So that gave me the confidence to say I was in, "prelabor," and they both wished me luck. Yay!!!
Congrats @BusinessWife
As for me.....Looks like I am delivering Monday! I'm super nervous about the decision- I've been being co-managed by a high risk U/S facility and my OB and it's been a lot of drama back and forth and usually differing opinions. Today I was back and forth between the two offices FOUR times and it all got really stressful. The high risk doc thinks we could keep playing the wait and see game, but the plan was always to deliver me the week of the 17th (would be 36 weeks and some change). But my OB feels like "better safe than sorry" and she's leaving for vacation on Tuesday and wouldn't be back, so her opinion is to deliver Monday.
I'll be 35+1, and her theory is that since my Baby B is still 3rd percentile, and Baby A is pretty small too, they might just thrive better on the outside and at least then we can better care for them. She doesn't feel like the difference at this point between 35 and 36 weeks is necessarily worth the risk and the additional stress of it maybe becoming an emergent situation.
At first I was really wanting to push to 36 weeks, but after all the drama and having to bring in yet another doctor next week since she'll be out, I really started leaning towards the Monday idea and said let's go for it. Just being able to plan, get work wrapped up, and enjoy our last weekend takes a lot of stress off everyone.
Hoping it's the right call! Scheduled for my C-section at 2pm Monday.
(Completely ridiculous but funny anecdote: I've been working on this massive public event downtown where we are closing off the main street for a public concert/bar grand opening with a major country artist on Monday. I was going to need to be there in some capacity on for it, but that's out now. My hospital literally overlooks downtown and I'm wondering if I'll be able to see any of it from my hospital bed Monday night!)

I hope everything goes smoothly! My singleton was born at 35 weeks and she did fabulously -- 35 weeks (even with twins) is really late pre-term and they can often adapt as well as term babies. Being a little smaller and twins, they'll probably want to keep an eye on them and make sure they're gaining, but it sounds like everything is in hand!
You'll be surprised how fast the c-section goes

@wildrainbow I would be reeling too. Sending good vibes your way. It sounds like you and your baby are in good hands. Just keep telling yourself all will be well.
@dragonfly6191 best wishes for a smooth delivery for your twins!
@gfgrump dw and I had an awful week the week before the baby came. I was insanely stressed, nervous, and worried. It was like life as we knew it was about to totally change and how could that not freak your out a little. Don’t worry you guys will find your groove again. It’s mychbeasier once all the “helpers” leave.
@sarzee2 hope you have your little one in your arms and recovering well.
@businesswife. Happy official leave it’s almost baby time can’t wait to find out if your little one is a boy or a girl!

@gfgrump. Oh dear. I'm sorry things seem to have slowed down again, just when you're getting excited that this could be it!
AFM... well, not much to report. Still feeling okay, still not much more than BH and a little crampiness... Hopefully baby decides to get moving this week tho, so the doctors don't have to start getting antsy at 41... :#
Thought I'd update on last week's thread, didn't have time to get here all week!
Carter Wright arrived on 9/5 at 7:42 PM! 8 lb, 5 oz and 20.5 inches long.
I don't know how to do the spoiler lol, but here's my induction story-NOT traumatic:
Went to the hospital 9/4 at 9 AM, got checked in and settled and started cervadil at 10:30 AM. I was maaaaaybe finger tip dilated, so had a long way to go. The doctors told me I could be on the cervadil for maximum of 12 hours (and I stupidly thought it would take way less time than that). Unfortunately no, as I kept getting checked throughout the day I wasn't making progress, got up to 1 cm. I started to get more uncomfortable with cramps, etc but was just hanging out and resting. At 11 PM they inserted a foley balloon and started pitocin and it definitely started to get more uncomfortable, really had to breath through a lot of cramps and I decided to get an epidural. Got the epidural at 2 AM and they removed the foley balloon right after and I was still only at about 3.5 cm. But I was soooo happy to have gotten the epidural and was able to get lots of rest. I saw my OB at 8 AM, 12:30 PM (now 5 cm dilated) and 3:30 PM and still wasn't making too much progress. At the 12:30 PM check we asked what the plan was and she said if when she came back at 5:30 PM if I still wasn't fully dilated we'd talk c-section. So I pretty much assumed that's what was going to happen. From the second check to the third check I started to get a lot more uncomfortable, got my epidural topped off and rested and then at the 5:30 check I was at 10 cm! My doctor was like "Ok let's have a baby" and I started to cry getting scared about pushing, cause I was so sure we were going to do a c-section. I pushed for about an hour and 45 minutes and it was super low-key...I told them when I felt the height of the contraction and just kind of quietly said "okay" and then they grabbed my legs and I pushed! It was just my doctor, the nurse I'd been with all day, a resident and DH. My doctor was even sitting on my bed the whole time and we had the Met game on the TV. I started to get really panicked right at the very end and was like "I can't do it!!!!" but then my body just sort of took over and he was out! The only bad thing was that I spiked a fever during the delivery, so for protocol they had to take him to the NICU for 6 hours of monitoring but he was a-okay! I am extremely lucky to have had only very minimal tearing...the doctor described it as more of an abrasion than a tear, so she only put in a stitch or two. End of induction talk.
Right when they held him up DH and I were both peeking around the umbilical cord like "that's definitely a penis right?!" We really wanted a boy, so we're super happy. These past 5 days have been a whirlwind, but just trying to take it one day at a time and survive. Latching wasn't going so well, but I've decided I'm going to exclusively pump and then top off with formula when necessary and hope my supply comes in well. DH is AMAZING, especially with diaper changes and he does a lot of the feedings while I pump so that's a big help.
Good luck to everyone still waiting on their little ones! See you all on the New Mommies board!!
