Hello lurkers!
Many of us are about half way through our journey! If you’ve been lurking in the shadows we want to get to know you if you’d like to be known. Here is a place to jump in if you feel like it’s awkward to come in suddenly at the middle, or if you haven’t participated yet for any other reason. As a reformed lurker myself I know how intimidating it can be and also how rewarding it is to get to know these ladies for real. So, if you’re ready, tell us about yourself!
How has your pregnancy gone so far? What was the worst part and best part up to now?
Tell us about yourself! What’s your favorite food? What do you do for a living? Tell us about your partner, or your pets, or your other kiddos.
Tell is about your baby! Team green, team blue, or team pink? Singlet or multiples? How do you plan to get that baby out?

Re: Lurkers! Come out, Come out, Where ever you are!
I’m currently 25 weeks with my 4th. I live in southwest lower Michigan. Hoping for a home birth with this one - my first was a hospital induction which I hated. Our second was born at home with a midwife. The third one (who is now 18 months) was a c section after our midwife bailed on us at 39 weeks. So I’ve kinda run the gamut of different experiences.
I hope to to be more active in the coming months!

The whole situation was really crazy. I saw the midwife on a Tuesday (38 weeks 6 days) and she said everything was looking ok. My BP had been creeping up a bit over the past couple weeks, but was still in the normal range (130s over 80s) except when I got super stressed about it. I was supposed to get labs done Thursday. Labs had all looked good up to that point and as I left she said “you look good.”
The next day she texted me in the late afternoon and asked me to call her. When I called she said she changed her mind and she was transferring me to a doctor I’d never met, and that I had to be induced that day. She kept saying “you’re not going to change my mind.” We ended up going to the hospital, meeting the doctor, being pressured into being induced, and then ending up with a c section 24 hours later. The midwife had said she would come to the hospital to be there for support and never showed up.

We're expecting another little girl and absolutely thrilled about it. We finally told our daughter (who just turned seven) about a month ago and then she got to tell other family shortly after. DH and I think we're down to the final two names, but DD isn't sold.
Worst part of pregnancy is the constant morning sickness (it lessens during second tri, but that just means I don't throw up multiple times per day) and best part is feeling the baby move -- so reassuring!
I've commented on a few posts but it's minuscule compared to how much I see others post. I'm trying to do better but this app interface is aggravating to say the least. I'm 23 weeks and super excited FTM. I was cautious and dipped my toes in the waters with the conversations here because I just didn't want to get my hopes super high and something happens but I also suck at social interactions, so that doesn't help. Lol married in Sept of last year but together 11yrs. We're having a GIRL!!!! Hubby is nervous that he'll be left out but I'm actually nervous she'll be such a daddy's girl and I'm left out lol. We started off wanting 4 kids, yea 4! But now that I see what pregnancy is like I'm like....whoa there let's talk about this and maybe see about 2??! First trimester was tough with no appetite due to nausea and vomiting and dizzy spells but these days are alot better.
I currently reach out more on this app cuz you ladies know what this is like. I reached a point where trying to explain to others gets frustrating. I swear my husband forgets I'm pregnant sometimes lmao. I love him but GOD, it's a lonely feeling some days when I feel my body is weird and I can't describe it. Just push through it. U know? Anywho. That's me!
Fellow major lurker here! I’m at 25 weeks along and things have been pretty smooth sailing for the most part other than general fatigue. Although...recently I had my follow up anatomy scan and the baby measured around 2 lbs and other measurements indicated he was in the 95+ percentile for size. So that means, coupled with my BMI, they are pretty concerned that I’ve developed GD. After that testing in a week or two (I have to do the 3 hour test right off the bat) I guess they will develop a plan for eating and being potentially much stricter with my diet. So that’s a bit stressful... and no one really wants to go into delivery knowing you might be pushing out a 10 lb baby.
I have a DD who was born in July 2015 and has just been potty trained over the summer... she’s kept me busy as well as working FT on 2nd shift as a Lab technologist ( running all those HCG’s and glucose tolerance tests...) Usually I do most of my lurking at night after work which probably doesn’t help with my lurkerdom. I’m just not seemingly very good at being super interactive with others through this medium, I guess!? Who knows...
Outside the joys of motherhood I enjoy reading, baking( guess I might need to learn some alternative GD friendly recipes), exploring the outdoors when it’s not super warm or humid ( which won’t be until October here it seems like), playing with our Chocolate Lab Charlie, jamming ( Aging myself) to local music at times even if it makes DH cringe. DH plays guitar so he spends a lot of time recording and tinkering with music outside of working in flooring sales.
So that’s me... hoping all Bumpers are enjoying this holiday weekend! If you work, hopefully it’s not super crazy at work.
Hi! I hope it’s ok to just join in here. I’m a long time lurker on this board, but I’m *super* shy and never got around/mustered the courage to actually post. So thanks for the last opportunity to join
I’m a first time mom, expecting a boy at the end of December (24 weeks now). I’m 29, but struggled to conceive because of unknown reasons/possible MFI issues. I got pregnant from my second IUI (TW first ended in miscarriage in January).
Pregnancy has been pretty smooth sailing for me so far. I did struggle with a super tight piriformis muscle that was causing some sciatic pain, but physical therapy and chiropractor visits worked wonders. That was the worst part. Best part has been...I’m not sure! I honestly don’t feel super pregnant most days besides the constant kicking (is that weird?) I’m just starting to get bigger and really show so perhaps things will change in the very near future...
I’d like to get him out as naturally, med-free, as intervention-less as possible. I have a doula lined up and I’ve been reading lots of Ina May and this book, “Natural Hospital Birth: The Best of Both Worlds” by Cynthia Gabriel.
Outside of pregnancy stuff, I have a degree in fine arts and work various art-related odd jobs (studio manager/assistant, video editor, writing editor/commissioned pieces) but by day I teach children’s yoga classes. But I’m kind of hoping to switch career paths/find a new career path post-baby. I also have a gorgeous Russian blue cat who I love almost as much as this future baby!
@LostinUtopia I'm happy your doctors are being proactive about monitoring your baby's size and potential GD, but obviously stressful to change your diet and worry about pushing out such a big baby
@MissAmber23 Wow, what a horrible experience! I hope things go very differently for you this time (I mean, they have to, right?)
25w with my 2nd. DS is 18months. In for a wild ride with two boys under two.
Hoping to be more active now that my work has slowed down tremendously.

Hello! I introduced myself early on, commented a little and tried to stay active, but failed miserably and now it feels weird to comment. Thanks for this thread...looking forward to giving participating another try:)
I'm a veterinarian and my husband stays home with our 3 boys: 8, 3 and 1. I'm due with number 4 on Dec 22nd. We're team green, but I have a feeling I'll be the mom of four boys! It's been a good pregnancy so far except for what they think is a subaminiotic hematoma. Baby is measuring big, moving a lot, and has lots of fluid. Therefore there's only a very small chance it will effect the baby, so my main problem is to not overthink things:). I've got another ultrasound to check on baby's size today.
Either my computer is too slow or I'm too slow, but I can't figure out how to tag:).
@jens_hoes my youngest is 22 months. There is definitely something nice about talking to someone in a similar type of chaos:) Starting today, we are finally starting to get him in his own bed at night. I'm running out of time so we have to, but I'm dreading the lack of sleep!
Thank you @snugglyduckling. It's also very nice to know there's someone out there with a SCH as well...I know statistically it should be no big deal...but my mom brain wants no part of that logic:)! I'd be thrilled with either boy or girl...but I do think it'd be pretty fun to have four little boys. My paternal grandmother had four boys and I was really close to her, so it's kinda neat to think I could have four little guys as well.
I did actually lurk a little in your thread even for GD.... unfortunately even if my GTT is normal (although I’m suspecting it won’t be..) apparently it’s not uncommon for mom’s pregnant with big babies (not sure of the percentile, though) to have to still monitor their diet and possibly still do at home glucose testing... more or less to try to slow the growth of the baby. Great news coming from my mom, the Midwife. Haha. They did do a fairly early ultrasound which these days are pretty accurate so it’s very unlikely they messed up my due date. Sigh.
@LostinUtopia I'm sorry to hear that but also think it's so great when they take extra care for the baby! So no matter what happens it'll so be worth it! Just a few more months and then we get to hold our sweet angels!
@MissAmber23 Wow!! That is terrible.
@blueberrysmommy25 I feel like you've commented enough as of late that we don't really consider you a lurker. Or I don't anyway, because I recognize your name.
@LostinUtopia I love to bake!! My MIL had GD when she was pregnant with DH and he was almost 11 pounds!!! I was so scared our DS was going to be born that big, thankfully he doesn't. Now I am just hoping this little one isn't either.
@shevsky I am expecting at the end of December too! December 29.
You should also post a picture of your cat in our pets thread, I'd love to see what she looks like.
