@lovesclimbing ughhhhhhhhhh. I would gladly if it would let me post ANYTHING. That said, it finally let me post without giving me a ridiculous error, so fingers crossed?
I got so frustrated back when I was on the TTCAL board that I just stopped all together.
@swanbrooner pardon my ignorance but what is RCS? I can usually decipher the acronyms but that one isn't working for me. Probably doesn't help that I'm freaking exhausted!
Any appointments? Questions?: Finally had my first appointment today and got to hear baby's heartbeat. It was such a relief to finally hear that. I also scheduled my first ultrasound for next week. I celebrated with lunch at my favorite Indian restaurant.
Rants/Raves?: I found out that my new OB/GYN is leaving the practice in October, so I now I have to find another new doctor. The other doctor in the practice is moving a little further away. My previous doctor has Parkinson's Disease and my daughter was one of the last babies that she delivered.
How are you feeling?: Overall fine. I could use more sleep, but my 3yo has had a rough week. I've had some crazy nausea and dizziness the last few days.
GTKY: What is your biggest accomplishment? Getting my Master's Degree in Medieval History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. I sometimes wish I had gotten my PhD, but marrying my husband and having my daughter are far more fulfilling.

Late to the party and have been absent a while (in-laws were visiting for nearly 4 weeks and I decided to take a Bump break so I wouldn't annoy with all my complaining )
Due date: March 8th
Any appointments? Questions?: Eep lots to update here. Had an appt at 9W+ where baby looked fine, next appt on Sept 11th. In the meantime I did the NIPT and got results back this Monday that there's a suggested chromosomal abnormality. I was bawling when the doc first called (she didn't specify the abnormality as I wanted to hear in person) since I was fearing the worst. Turns out it's a manageable condition although our child will likely be infertile if this condition is confirmed . We met with a genetic counselor on Wed and I've scheduled an amniocentesis at 16 weeks (the earliest they can do it). We've told both our parents and they're supportive, for which I'm grateful. If the condition is confirmed MH wants us to not tell anyone else for the sake of the child; I recognize his sound reasoning, but I will struggle with keeping such a secret (he's fine with me mentioning it here).
Rants/Raves?: We took the in-laws to Maui for 8 days while they were here. It was really (mostly) relaxing and helped to break up their visit a bit. Best of all my symptoms were very mild (no throwing up on the road to Hana ).
How are you feeling?: I am focusing on being grateful and staying positive/stress-free, but MH has on occasion found me crying in the bathroom in the middle of the night, lol.
GTKY: What is your biggest accomplishment? You ladies are rockstars; many of you have amazing accomplishments! I struggle with recognizing my accomplishments, but graduating from college (after initially dropping out due to a bad depressive episode) is probably up there. Looking forward to when I can add motherhood to the list .
@navete there you are!!! I wondered where my due date buddy went! Sorry for the scary news. Fx for more answers with the amnio. And girl god bless - 4 weeks with your inlaws?! I’m lucky if I can handle 4hrs! But Maui sounds DIVINE!!
@navete I’m in the midst of a scare from my genetic testing as well! (See above). I TOTALLY feel you, especially on the crying in the middle of the night thing. It’s a long wait to get confirmation and it’s hard to not think the worst, but keep your head up!! Thank god it sounds like it could have been something much worse. In my case, baby looks ok right now but I’m a carrier for SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) and we won’t find out if my husband is also a carrier until 9/11. It’s a grueling wait. If he’s also a carrier THEN we need to test the baby. It’s rare that we’d both come back carriers for the same disease but you NEVER know, and my motherly instinct is kicking in HARD - i can’t stop thinking about the wellbeing of my baby! I’m so with you, if you ever need to talk it out.
Sorry for the post&go yesterday. After I hammered out my long post, I was too tuckered to add tags.
@mschanandlerbong1214 Girl, I hardly know myself how I survived those four weeks with the in-laws, but it certainly helped to pull out the pregnancy card and retreat to my room whenever I wanted . I haven't caught up with all the threads to read where you might have mentioned this, but why are you now classified as high risk? I hope its just an overabundance of precaution from the docs. Hang in there for the long NIPT results wait, and wishing you the best news when the results do come in.
@indigoheightsblog Thank you. Waiting for the follow up news is not a fun place to be, for sure. I hope your husband's bloodwork comes back with great results and that hopefully you get the information sooner than your next appointment. In the meantime, enjoy your trip in Italy; sounds amazing!
@maggiemadeit Thank you. Enjoy your work trip to Europe; hope you get some time to do some sightseeing. And I love that image of you nursing your daughter under a tree after running a marathon - that's so bada**!
@ashley14598 Ugh, that sucks about the sinus infection. Hope you're able to get some relief soon.
@tfraz2016 How did your follow-up ultrasound go? And Wow! I'm so impressed with your accomplishment; that is no easy feat!
@mamaoftwomonkeys Hope you enjoyed your mini baby moon! Where did you guys go?
@valentynsi Congratulations on your marriage! Thanks for sharing the story of your loss; I can't imagine going through that, and I'm so glad you have a partner that helped/is helping you heal.
@navete The US tech couldn’t find any trace of the hemorrhage on the ultrasound and the baby is growing as expected. I honestly think she didn’t believe me when I said the ED said an SCH was there. Apparently they’re super common, most people just don’t know unless they bleed or the tech catches them.
Keeping you and your baby in my thoughts and prayers! Hoping your amnio goes well!
@navete I’m so sorry to hear about your unexpected news! I’ll be thinking and sending prayers for your amniocentesis! (And I totally think you deserve a medal for four weeks with the in laws- no matter how wonderful they are four weeks is a long time!)
We went to Ottawa for 2.5 days! (My husband had a work meeting so I tagged along and we extended the trip a little). It was so wonderful to have some extended kid-free time
@navete thankfully our results came in less than a week! According to the results baby is a very low risk for Down Syndrome which was the main concern. Now we wait to go back at 16w to see if our us looks better.
@navete I’m so sorry to hear about your results, payers for you to get better news soon! Thank you for the well wishes luckily I’m feeling better from the sinus infection aspect.
Any appointments? Questions?: 2nd appointment is on Friday I'm hoping I get to hear the heartbeat but at my NT scan she noted I have an anterior placenta and based on google that could prevent you from hearing the heartbeat and feeling small movements.
Any other ladies have an anterior placenta and want to shed some light on what this might entail?
Rants/Raves?: not pregnancy related but last night I woke up to go pee for the 5th time and I saw a mouse. I nearly died. Now my house is covered in traps and I dont want to get out of bed
How are you feeling?: ok besides random lightheadedness. It normally happens after a carb loaded meal. Anyone else have this and know what causes it and how to help?
GTKY: What is your biggest accomplishment? My biggest accomplishment is my family! I dont know where I would be without DH and DS. It's not easy working and being a mom but we do what we have to do to make sure our family is provided for.
@9ebab6 if your lightheaded-ness seems to follow a high carb meal I’d bet it is blood sugar related (spike/crash). Not really sure how to help...maybe smaller, more frequent meals to keep it steady?

@navete, you are so sweet for sending well wishes to others during a stressful time for you. And I agree w/ everyone who is saying you’re amazing for spending such an absurdly long time with your in-laws! Sending positive thoughts for your amnio. Please keep us posted.
@9ebab6 good idea, hopefully it’s just an annoying pregnancy symptom but better to be safe!
