Due date: Mar 2nd, or last days of Feb, according to an US a few weeks ago, so whichever.

Any appointments? Questions? No appointments until later in Sept.

Rants/Raves? DH was able to fix my dryer, so hooray for not having to buy a new appliance! Finally got caught up on laundry this weekend.

How are you feeling?  As others have said, starting to get some energy back, but I still get pretty draggy in the afternoons. Food is starting not to sound/smell too horrible. Fall allergies seem to be starting though and I am still trying to get over the cold DD gave me last week. Darn mucus!

GTKY: What is your hidden talent?  I am artistic. I used to be a graphic designer but since I've been a SAHM, my talents tend to go hidden unless I volunteer to make things for school/church groups. Family all know it though and I love getting to dust the cobwebs off my creativity with annual Christmas cards and invitations for friends/family.

    Due date: 3/6

Any appointments? Questions?: NIPT bloodwork results and NT 12 week scan on FRIDAY! I think they're using a 3D U/S machine! I'm so excited. I invited my mom along with DH and I.... she's going to bawl her eyes out when she sees this little critter on the screen.

Rants/Raves?: Rant: Packing for vacation and it's super tedious because I find myself needing to try everything on to see what fits and what doesnt. Raves: On that note, I just ordered two maternity onepiece swimsuits from ASOS.... they come in the mail tomorrow. They're super cute and I'm praying they fit!

How are you feeling?: Great! I've had very few symptoms to begin with, but I'm really turning the corner on the "constantly hungry & tired" situation. I can feel how much easier the 2nd Trimester is going to be, and I haven't had it bad at all in the 1st, so I'm really pretty thrilled.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? - Not so hidden, but I sing, act & play piano. Been doing so since i was 4 years old, majored in Musical Theatre in college, and performed around the country professionally before settling down with DH.

Any appointments? Questions?: Tomorrow! So excited!

Rants/Raves?: Rant: My daughter had a stomach bug over the weekend. My nose was not prepared for such scents

How are you feeling?:  overall, improving. Nausea seems to be a little bit better, although pregnancy insomnia is kicking my butt

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? I can do fine embroidery! My grandma taught me

Any appointments? Questions?: Ultrasound this afternoon to check my sch.  I'm praying it is gone!

Rants/Raves?: I have to go back to work next week and I don't want to!

How are you feeling?: I'm starting to feel a little better.  My morning sickness isn't as bad and I have a little more energy. I'm definitely starting to show and I have started wearing a few pieces of maternity clothing.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? I don't really have one.

    Due date: 3/8

     Any appointments? Questions?:
NT scan and possibly NIPT on Friday.

     Rants/Raves?:
currently fighting with my insurance and MFM over the NIPT. My RE wants me to have it done but they don’t do it in their office, the MFM is supposed to be the one doing it but the receptionist won’t schedule it because I’m under 35. So it’s one big kerfuffle of phone calls trying to get everyone on the same dang page.

     How are you feeling?:
alright. Still dealing with all day nausea but no more vomiting. My mood is all over the place and I’m ridiculously exhausted.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? honestly, I have no idea.

    Due date: 3/6

Any appointments? Questions?: none this week, next week I have my first high risk appointment (over 35) with genetic screening

Rants/Raves?: I went back to work today (I work 10 months/year). This is a rant (it's always hard to go back) and a rave (I feel less tired being busy/working).

How are you feeling?:  I feel less tired.  I am having lots of what they tell me is RLP (but they are different than with my first 2).  I have to be careful how I move because sometimes the pains are sharp.  Otherwise I feel better overall and I'm hoping I will start sleeping better now that I'm back to work.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent?  I'm artistic/creative.  I like to create all kinds of things.

    Due date: 2/28

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appt is next Tuesday to check on my subchorionic hemorrhage. I got diagnosed last Sunday after bleeding and haven’t bled in a week. Hoping it’s gone. After that 9/4 for my official second trimester ultrasound

Rants/Raves?: Rant: If you know your PT’s office closes at 6 and you finish your session at 5:55, don’t try to talk to me past 6:05 when we’re noticeably closing up. I like to go home too!

How are you feeling?: My nausea only hits every 2-3 evening so that’s great. Still super fatigued and I’m gaining a full feeling in my uterus. Oh, and the bathroom runs never stop.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? I’m a walking encyclopedia. I tend to remember random facts, so I’m great for trivia nights!

Any appointments? Questions?: Yes Wednesday!!! I’m so excited! I have so many questions about this medication I’m on! I also can’t wait to check on baby! I’m hoping because on Thursday I’ll be 12 weeks that she’ll check for the heartbeat.

Rants/Raves?: Rants: Just feeling sick and not like myself... Rave: finally got some energy back on Sunday and was able to get a lot of housework caught back up!

How are you feeling?: Ugh! Nauseous, constipated, and super sensitive to smells! Yuck!

GTKY: What is your hidden talent?I'm honestly not sure! I plan a lot of vacations for my family members so they might say that!

Due date:  I don't even know anymore! So far I've been given March 3, March 4, March 7 and March 8

Any appointments? Questions?: I just had my 12 week ultrasound this afternoon. I am so thrilled and so relieved to have seen baby wriggling away and measuring ahead (thought I was 11w 4d but baby measured 12w 1d). Has anyone else had their due date changed as often as a newborns' diapers?! According to LMP my DD is March 4, however I have long cycles and carefully monitor for ovulation (got pregnant on fertility meds) so based on ovulation my DD is March 7. At my 8w scan I was measuring slightly behind, and given a DD of March 8. At 9w at my us in the ER I'd caught up to my original guess of March 7. Today I was measuring 4 days ahead which puts me at March 3. The us tech didn't know what to go by - she said the earlier scans are usually more accurate however only my 12w us today was performed at our children's/maternity hospital where they have the best equipment, so she was of course inclined to believe her estimate of March 3.

Rants/Raves?: I know realistically it doesn't matter, because baby will come when he/she is ready, but it's making me a bit anxious to not have a solid due date. I'll be announcing to family this weekend and just want to have a simple answer for them rather than "sometime in March." I should just pick one and stick with it - baby will be early or late anyway, they almost never arrive on their DD! Right?

How are you feeling?: A bit better! Nausea and fatigue are better, headaches are much worse, bathroom issues continue... so much fun :)

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? Hmmm. What most people don't know about me is I was in children's choir growing up and I can actually belt out a mean tune! That's all I've got ;)

    Due date: 3/1

Any appointments? Questions?: NT ultrasound/bloodwork on Wednesday - once I get the results from this I'll have no more excuses for not telling people the news which it exciting but makes me nervous!

Rants/Raves?: I guess I could go on a pants rant... I don't think I've really gained weight but some of my pants are starting to feel uncomfortable when I sit down and I'd like some looser fitting pants that I can wear for a while as I grow. I went to a few stores over the weekend and I hated everything I tried on. I normally have problems finding clothes that fit me well (big butt.. small chest... relatively thin everywhere else) and hate shopping because of it, but I'm having even more problems trying to find looser fitting pants. The pants I tried on either made it look like I was wearing a tent, had no pockets (pet peeve of mine - I don't always like carrying a purse and need pockets!), or were just really crappy quality overall. I feel like I'll need to go into every store in a mall until I find maybe one pair of pants that are both comfortable and don't make it look like I've lost all self respect. Then I'll probably look at the price tag and put them back on the rack. ugh.

How are you feeling?: Not too bad - I'm in week 12 and a lot of symptoms are dying down (breast soreness, nausea, cramping). I still get really tired in the afternoon which is frustrating. I've also started feeling more pressure in my uterus. Even if I just have to pee a little bit then my lower abdomen starts to feel really uncomfortable. I've had to pee more frequently for a while now but this intense discomfort is new.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? Hm... I used to be very musical (viola, piano, drums) but haven't picked up an instrument in forever which makes me sad when I think about it. I've recently received really positive feedback on my writing, specifically communicating science in an easy to understand way. This was a bit of a hidden talent even to me until recently!

    Due date:  3/3

Any appointments? Questions?: Friday. So excited for DD and DH to hear baby. They both missed out on my u/s a couple weeks ago.

Rants/Raves?: My MIL is already driving me nuts again. Just trying to ignore her snarky comments as usual. Also I’m so happy I fit in my pants still because last time I got wide quickly. I’ve probably only gained a pound which is a huge improvement from the 10 I gained in first tri with DD. Although I can’t zip my pants anymore so that is annoying. Thank goodness for belly bands!

How are you feeling?: I think I’ve finally turned a corner. Still lack of appetite but no significant nausea in over a week now. But I am a lot more sore in my hips after my long run this past weekend.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? Most people in my present life are not aware of my musical talents. I play piano and flute, but haven’t played much in recent years.

@laur84ns same exact situation here!!! first was 3.3, second was 3.9, third was 3.6 - i'm going with 3.6 since it's right in the middle. i'm anal about telling everybody at 12 weeks so it was super annoying to not know when that actually "is".... i finally decided i'm announcing on friday which will be 12 w 2 days based on the middle march 6th due date. it's true... they come when they want... i'm less concerned about that and more concerned about when i can announce LOL - luckily i think any time end of this week is fair game so i'm officially over it!!!

    Due date: 3/4

Any appointments? Questions?: You guys, I go for my NT scan tomorrow morning and I am freaking out. My pregnancy was unplanned (but happy/welcomed!) so I wasn't taking prenatals/folic acid. I was also on the keto diet and ate very little processed foods (folate is usually added to cereal, rice and pastas). So basically, I'm super worried that I didn't get enough folate, which can lead to NT issues.

Rants/Raves?: Rave: Had a pretty productive day at work today. Much needed. Rant: Burned the top of my mouth chowing down on lunch too quickly.

How are you feeling?: Physically? Great. Emotionally? See above in "appointments." :/

GTKYWhat is your hidden talent? I dunno... I guess maybe that I can juggle? I went to college at a big state university that just happened to have "circus" as an elective. Of course, I had to take it! It was so much fun and a nice break from a very serious course load junior year.

@indigoheightsblog Ah, glad I'm not the only one! The date you chose makes sense, right in the middle! I liked my March 7 date because it's the one I figured was accurate and my DD was born on May 7 :) But I have to admit, I loved hearing "you're 12w 1d" at my us today when I thought I was 11w 4d. And March 3 is nice because my DD's due date was May 3. Not sure if I should stick with my gut and say March 7 or jump on the new, earlier date. Maybe I'll ask my dr what he thinks when he calls with my official us results- he'll then have seen all the us results and may have an opinion. Either way, I'm going to have to pick a date soon for when I announce! :)

@laur84ns yeah i think at this stage in the game you're good to go and announce whenever you want! i brought this up when my doc first changed my due date and some of the other ladies in here who have had babies already said it's super common and basically that i shouldn't care as much as i do.... and i get that for sure - because ultimately it doesn't matter - but i guess i'm just super type A and anal about these things. i needed to pick one and stick to it, i was so bent out of shape not being able to "count" the days!!! LOL. regardless congrats on a great 12 week scan! i can't wait for mine on friday morning! any time after that scan is a good time for announcing :)

@heytherefriend good luck this morning! I have two friends who recently gave birth, who hadn't been trying to get pregnant and certainly didn't know to take any prenatals or folic acid until their first dr appointment. Both had perfectly healthy babies! I'm not a researcher (maybe someone else can weigh in) but I'm pretty sure it's one of those things where there is some association with defects, but it's certainly not like everyone who doesn't have enough folate will have a baby with issues. Know what I mean? Anyway, it's great that you're getting the NT scan and hopefully you'll feel much better after this morning!
@indigoheightsblog I know... I'm a STM so I totally realize how silly it is to even have a due date that consists of one day. Pffft. Like baby gives a hoot. But I'm like you, I want a date to tell people, and I want to have a date in my Ovia App so I can follow along with developments day by day. Now I'm not sure if I should fast forward 4 days or not. So don't worry, you're not the only one worrying about something so 'trivial' :)

    Due date: March 8

Any appointments? Questions?: My nt is scheduled for Monday (the 27th). Freaking out because this is the scan that DS1's issues were picked up. My anxiety is off the charts, because I'm convinced something is wrong. I need to do the blood test, and I had wanted to do it tomorrow, but I've just found out I'm supposed to be working a 12 hr day tomorrow and won't make it to the blood testing place. Hopefully Thursday isn't too late.

Rants/Raves?: I'm having a really shit time at work ATM (see 12 hr day) and if today is anything to go by, I might quit tomorrow. I need to start meditating or something

How are you feeling?: still have the morning sickness. It's getting worse, so I think I'm going to be sick the whole way through again.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? I used to play a lot of musical instruments, but that kind of feel by the wayside in uni. However, I can lick my elbow, which is kind of a talent.

For everyone still in normal pants, get maternity pants. Elasticised waist bands are the future and you won't regret it. I've been wearing them since 9 weeks and I'm not ashamed. I've lost weight, but with the bloating I need room to expand.

Little boy due July 31st 2016

@LilLambie thanks for the maternity pants advice. It probably sounds stupid, but I haven't even considered shopping in the maternity section yet and thought that clothing was for when I really started to show. Guess I have a whole new world of pants to explore!
  • Options
I haven't thought about maternity clothes either. I'm holding off until I hear everything is good at my appointment this week. It's been over a month since my last appointment, I haven't heard the baby's HB yet (though we saw the flicker at my 7-week), and I'm a very cautious person. I feel like it would just add insult to injury if I bought all these maternity clothes and then my 12-week didn't go well. After Thursday, though, I plan to go to town on maternity purchases!
  • Options
Definitely second the recommendation on maternity pants. In my opinion you can make do with pretty much everything else, but nothing else is anywhere near as comfortable
  • Options
i'm so down on the maternity pants. i bought two pairs of great side-panel jeans from target and they're already coming in handy. they are so much more comfortable! i also sized up in my typical leggings (which are from aritzia). i have a short waist as it is, and maternity leggings have been coming right up to my boobs.... instead, i sized from a small to a medium so that they come up a little higher than normal. it's worked out great for me so far!

    Due date: 3/7

Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment isn't until September 6th. We announced to our close friends and family and now I'm worried that something with happen. Looking forward to the appointment for reassurance.

Rants/Raves?: Rant - I am in the worst mood at work today. Just no patience for BS from anyone. Tired of people bringing up meaningless points in meetings just to hear themselves talk. Please think before you speak. I'm really fun to deal with today. Haha. Rave - My dad has not been excited about the news, so that's been hard, but we had a great conversation yesterday where he showed his first signs of excitement so that was nice.

How are you feeling?: Nausea is calming down some, but it's calmed down before just to come back with a vengeance so not getting my hopes up just yet. However, can not sleep so I am just exhausted. This is probably the reasons for my rant.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? I used to be really good at painting. However, haven't really done it since high school.

    Due date: 3/1

Any appointments? Questions?: US on Thursday

Rants/Raves?: I’ve been waking up at 2am for 1-2 hours and I’m really feeling it during the day. I’m exhausted all the time and I keep getting awful headaches.

How are you feeling?: Other than being tired, a lot better. Nausea is almost gone - I only feel it in the morning if I don’t eat quickly enough.

GTKY: What is your hidden talent? I’m a really fast distance runner. This is obviously not hidden to close friends and family, but people who don’t know me well are usually really surprised if they see my race times. I actually had a full ride to a division 1 school, which I stupidly gave up 2 years in when I decided I didn’t want to compete anymore.
  • Options
@laur84ns Thank you so much for your response. I read it this morning before I headed off to my appointment and it was so comforting. You pretty much said exactly what my doctor has been saying. Good news so far - nothing abnormal about today's appointment! To be fair, the doc said *if* there were problems he probably wouldn't see them until later on, but I'm feeling better.
  • Options
@heytherefriend I'm to glad to hear it! Really, that's the best news you could get today.... none of us will know for sure that our babies are 100% healthy until they're in our arms, but each ultrasound, appointment and test that goes by with out any red flags is reassuring!
  • Options
Went to my appointment today and heard LO heartbeat! It is seriously the sweetest sound in the world! It was pounding away in there! I also double checked with the zofran and she said they don’t like to give it in the 1st trimester but it’s better than the constant vomiting. I lost weight (which happened with DS too) but she wasn’t concerned with that-she was more concerned that I’m able to keep foods down when taking it. I asked about my ultrasound which was at 9 weeks (I’m 12 tomorrow) since we hadn’t met since I had it and she said the baby measured 2 days behind what we thought so not enough to make a difference. I’m still a bit confused on the actual due date (now it was 3/7 but measured 3/9). So I’m not sure what my midwife is considering it, or if it really matters? I know some of you have had questions about due dates being off too.

@ashley14598 They moved mine up a whole week based on my dating scan. I have been charting BBT for years, and the way they moved it makes no sense based on what I know about when I ovulated and when we had sex. I have a super regular cycle and ovulation, which helps in how sure I am.

I am not overly concerned about it, but I also won’t be letting them bully me into an induction at 41 weeks when I know it’s really only 40. I am thinking to bring this up with the midwife at my next appointment, but I am not sure if it really matters. Due dates are just an estimate anyway, so I always think due date +/- 2 weeks is the birth window.

ETA My first kid was huge, so I think the estimate might have been off just because I grow them big.

    Due Date- 3/2

Appointments- I have one coming up on Friday, I'll be 12 weeks 6 Days.

Rants/Raves- I'm up at 3:00am right now because of this insomnia and I have a really busy day tomorrow!

How am I feeling? Nausea is MUCH better and I have a lot more energy!

Hidden Talent? I write poetry pretty well!

@maggiemadeit I guess 2 days doesn’t really mean much compared to a whole week! Good for you for sticking up for you and your baby!

@purplepirate09 I’m with you on the insomnia! I remember it with my son but not until the end of the 2nd trimester. It’s awful!
