1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

26! kale (what an especially dumb size comparison—kale can be all sorts of different sizes).

2. How are you feeling?

so tired yesterday, so went to bed at 8pm last night and woke up this morning feeling so much better. the heartburn is annoying.

3. Any appointments this week?

i had one with mfm for ttts monitoring, and the doc said everything looks great!

4. Rants/raves/questions?
i messed up my hips again in the shower yesterday trying to wash my feet. 
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival?
probably just working a little in the babies’ room: putting up shelves that i just bought and re-covering a couple of lamp shades with cute fabric. i also need to figure out what the best way to aquire a breastpump will be. insurance says they “prefer” that we go with some dme store that’s in-network, but i don’t know yet how to figure out who’s in network.
6. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own?
i have a small old book about bread-making from the 60s. it has many tips and tricks that i haven’t read elsewhere, and the recipes are all really spot-on. i’ve inserted a number of other winning recipes over the years among the pages, so it’s quite special, i’d say.

27 weeks tomorrow!  Romaine lettuce.

2. How are you feeling?

Physically, just fine.  Mentally, not so great.  I'm feeling depressed, anxious and stressed.

3. Any appointments this week?

Thursday, 8/23 for a general OB appointment.  I'll love setting up for my glucose test but it won't be that day (the office recommends getting it done in the hospital since "I don't want them screwing it up in the office and having to redo it" - how reassuring).

4. Rants/raves/questions?

None right now.

5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival?

Nothing.  Still being lazy and procrastinating since I don't have a lot to do.

6. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own?

Coolest is probably a first edition set of Edward Gorey books (The Gashlycrumb Tinies, The Insect God and The West Wing) that I got as a high school graduation present.  It's weird and macabre, just up my aisle and it has sentimental value (as well as actually being worth something, especially since the author/artist died after I got it).

I also really love my self-portrait sketch by Stuart Sutcliffe (The Beatles first bass player, who was really a talented artist, not a musician, and died very young).  I got it from a reputable source (they got it from a Christie's auction), but I've never gotten it authenticated by anyone else so I can't swear 100% that it's the real deal, although I have no reason to doubt it.

I have a collection of antique rosaries (my favorite is a gorgeous, French, art nouveau saphiret and gold-plated one), an assortment of nature stuff (skulls, bones, naturally preserved insects, etc.) and a few Native American artifacts my uncle found when he was young and left to me when he died.

I have a lot of strange and cool stuff since I collect "weird and wonderful" things, but nothing completely off the wall.

@MojieJo sorry that you’re feeling especially in your head lately. have you talked to your dh about it? i know the docs in your life kinda suck right now. have you thought about finding someone irl to talk to that’s less clinically focused and more... what’s the word, whatever means opposite of clinical... holistic? not to replace your doctors, but maybe to cover a different base. 

all of that stuff you listed sounds super cool! i wish i had the sense of mind to find cool and authentic stuff when i was younger— i’ve been trying to work towards that.

1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

28, am eggplant. But I learned at my ultrasound this week baby is already 3 pounds and appears to be more of whatever the vegetable is for 30 weeks 

2. How are you feeling?

I’m doing ok energy-wise during the day but around 5pm I’m getting really tired. Might have something to do with that being the time my DS comes home from daycare lol

3. Any appointments this week?

Passed my glucose test and an ultrasound this week to check the heart (I’m AMA) went pretty well. Like I said, baby is big, surprising to me since DS was born at 39+ weeks at 6lbs 15oz. There’s a small hole at the bottom of the heart between the two chambers that the dr said will close before birth or shortly after, going to recheck in 7 weeks.

5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival?
We had a rummage sale last week and I sold a few things I wanted to upgrade from DS for the new baby, those upgrades items are coming Friday! 
6. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own?
My husband is a stock holder for the Green Bay Packers. It’s really just a piece of paper but it’s fun to say we own the Packers.

@highsteaks I've tried talking to DH, but he's so caught up in his own (work-related) stress that he doesn't have much time or sympathy for me.

I haven't tried a more holistic doctor.  Pickings are slim around here unless I want to drive an hour into the city, so I'm kind of stuck with the people I've already seen.  I could see my psychiatrist just to talk (though that's not really his job), but he's almost an hour away, too.

Thank you!  I take pride in my collections.  I've been a collector of various things since I was little and I've got some pretty neat stuff now as a result.
