  • EDD? 1/23/19

    Symptoms?
Not many right now! Woohoo! Feeling the baby kick more.

    Upcoming appointments?
    Anatomy scan on 9/4.

    R/R/Q:
I'm convinced this baby is a girl, to the point where I want to go through DS's clothes and start getting rid of some of them. I need to be patient, though, just in case. I think it's a girl because I had an ultrasound at the MFM doctor last week, and it didn't look like a boy.

    GTKY:
Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names? We had a dog that passed away at the age of 10 this past Mother's Day. She's in my bump picture. She was a pit bull/bull mastiff mix, and I loved her so much. I'd like to get another dog, but I want to wait until the kids are a little older. I can't take on more responsibilities right now.

    Just stupid heartburn.

Ultrasound on my cervix on Wednesday. OB check up 9/5 and then A/S is 9/12.

GTKY: We have a dog and a cat. The cat is a brown/grey tabby named Kitty (well, technically Remy but we've never called him that) he's about 9 now and our first baby. We have a 2 year old German Shepherd who's a giant doofus.

-Always tired, feeling some legit kicks now, my heart rate seems to be getting up higher more quickly when I exercise = more breaks to catch my breath

-rave: I’m sleeping pretty well at night. In general, I didn’t sleep well at all throughout my pregnancy with DS. I remember telling people that I was sleeping better after he was born. So all the praise hands for good sleep right now.

    -next appt is 8/29

-Yes, we have a black lab named Charlie. He’s almost 3 years old. I would like him a lot better if he didn’t feel the need to lick everyone all the time.  :D

I've definitely felt the flutters/rolling around but no definitive jabs yet. I was listening to her on the doppler last night and she'd roll away from me and I'd have to follow her, it was funny.

    EDD?
    1/31

    Symptoms?
Moodiness, endless hunger, gas, acne.... I'm so fun right now lol.

    Upcoming appointments?
16 week check-in on Friday! Scheduled it at 3 p.m. so I can get an early start to the weekend hehe

    R/R/Q:
I'm also very jealous about everyone feeling kicks!! I thought I felt some last week, but...you know...gas.

But rave: my newfound energy. It's so nice to feel semi normal again, I thought I'd feel like a zombie forever. Just in time too because we need to move in October.

    GTKY:
Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?
We have 2 cats and a dog, and they all have like 9 million nicknames. But our white husky's name is Ghost (any GOT nerds here?). Our orange cat is Giuseppe and our black cat is Dollar (technically Roman, but you'd never hear us call him that lol).
  • EDD? 1/27

    Symptoms?
    so. hungry.

    Upcoming appointments?
check up on friday! Anatomy scan 8/31

    R/R/Q:
did i mention i was hungry? Someone else mentioned this too, but im also sleeping great! And im usually a crappy sleeper.

    GTKY:
Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names? 2 cats and 2 dogs. I have a black and white cat named matilda, an all black cat named Ted, but i usually call him mr. Boop, a 5yr old pitbull mix named remi, and a 9 month old pitbull mix named peter.

    EDD?
    1/24

    Symptoms?
    Not much

    Upcoming appointments?
OB next week and A/S on 9/4.

    R/R/Q:
My blood sugar has been good this week.

I feel the baby sporadically. Every so often it will be really active and then I’ll go several days not really feeling anything, which makes me nervous, even though I know it early and I didn’t feel DD at all until later on.

    GTKY:

We have a 15 lb cat named Charlie.

  • If I lay on my back, like flat on my back, I can feel her and if I poke/push near her, she moves. Last night I was listening to her with the doppler and she kept rolling away from me.

    EDD?- 1/25

    Symptoms?-heartburn

Upcoming appointments- 8/29 checkup, 9/5 anatomy ultrasound

R/R/Q:rant:  I have NO time for anything. I’ve been so busy I haven’t even been able to enjoy this pregnancy. We tried so hard for so long to get pregnant and I can’t even enjoy it... when people ask me anything about the pregnancy or gender or baby shower I just get sad because I haven’t been able to even think about it.

    GTKY:
Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names? No pets
  • EDD? Jan 22

    Symptoms?
Still some nausea and puking. Still exhaustion. Back pain and RLP are picking up. And heartburn seems to be starting.

    Upcoming appointments?
Anatomy Scan two weeks from today on the 28th. Next check-up two days later on the 30th.

    R/R/Q:
Feels like the nausea and puking should have gone away (though they never did last time) and the exhaustion shouldn’t be as bad anymore either. And then like it’s too soon for the others to be kicking in.

People seem to be correctly guessing the bump is bump and not fat already, which is kinda nice. But again it just feels so early for that, which is feeding the body image issues.

Tomorrow AM is the last class of the session
of my HIIT class that started 8 weeks ago. I had talked to my OB beforehand and was able to persuade the owners to let me do this one last session while KU. I’m so glad they did, and the only real goal I set for myself was to finish. I’m proud of myself for doing so, but at the same time, I’m feeling a little sad and at loose ends and not sure what I’m going to do from here. I’ve been doing these sessions since the beginning of January and they’ve become a big part of my non-mom identity during that time. Feels weird to be losing that and the people I’ve been attending with this whole time! That probably deserves a #FWP.

    GTKY:
Two cats named Troy and Abed!

  • @MrsDho11 Troy and Abed in the moooorning! LOL

    EDD? Jan 30

Symptoms? I've had a bad bout of nausea/yarfing BUT re-started a strict schedule of Unisom/B6 and its making that soooo much better. Back/hip pain is also doing a lot better after a couple of weeks of chiropractic adjustment and exercises. Sleeping a little bit better since nausea has been under control for almost 48hrs. @ladystout08 and @kianarain I haven't felt any baby kicks yet either, I don't think (FTM). Sooooon....

Upcoming appointments? Aug 20 (Monday). Also, had a call with insurance nurse yesterday and they're still really concerned that I'm not seeing a MFM specialist (just a regular OB) and they're not doing more checks (a 2nd level US should be coming up, no early glucose screen, haven't retested thyroid, etc). So, considering switching practices... ugh.

    R/R/Q:
See appointment info above. Angry/annoyed with current Dr group, sort of scared to switch practices even though it's early enough to get into the groove with another group. With several pre-existing conditions, prior loss (including one at 20wks), and being AMA at 38, shouldn't I be tracked more as "high risk"? I've had to push current Dr for everything -- including testing my progesterone early and getting put on supplements, since I've had placental issues before. UGH.

Rave, though: DH has been really sweet and not all angst-y for the past week or so, which is SO much nicer. He even participated in researching baby registry items without freaking out :)

    GTKY
So many pets! Two guinea pigs, named Snoopy and Derby. And two Boston Terriers, named Daisy (11+yrs) and Beans (2yrs).

    Andrea -- FTM at 39!

  • @wkuandrea I would consider switching. You shouldn’t have to push them to take things seriously. I switched in my second trimester last time and I’m happy I did, it was worth it to have someone I felt better about.

  • @wkuandrea I agree you should consider switching. You need to advocate for yourself and your baby and get all the care you two need.

I'm also chuckling that we're a can of coke and a can of spam this week.

  • Speaking of issues with OBs, I got a call that they cancelled my September OB appointment. I was able to reschedule it with the NP instead, but the scheduler mentioned not being able to get in with the OB until January so I guess I will need a new OB. Considering that they think I'm high-risk enough to need to be induced at 38 weeks, it's odd that they don't seem to think I need to see an actual OB much.

  • EDD?
    January 23

    Symptoms?

For the most part symptom free! I am feeling baby kick sporadically, on Monday baby was kicking all day. Yesterday I was in the car for 6 hours and felt baby a lot during the drive. Today, not so much.

    Upcoming appointments?
Next week is my ultrasound, exactly at 18 weeks!

    GTKY:
Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?
No pets, we used to have a cat named Toby and told DD that, she now names her stuffed kitties 'Toby' and when she gets a kitty (when she's 6) she plans on naming it Toby.... so cute!
  • EDD? 1/23

Symptoms? I was still having nausea pretty bad and throwing up a few to several times a week even with unisom and b6 but yesterday at my appointment my midwife prescribed zofran and I took one this afternoon at the on set and have felt the best I have felt in 12 weeks.

Upcoming appointments? I had my 17 week appointment yesterday and we found out we are having a girl. Anatomy scan in 4 weeks.

R/R/Q: I am pushing myself so hard at work... I will be working over 50 hours this week and I am hoping I can get caught up enough to go back to normal next week.

    GTKY:
Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?
We have four dogs.... all are rescues.
our oldest is a blue tick hound mix named rascal, Fe is our second oldest and she is black beagle mixed dog, then we have a terrier borzoi mixed named Fletch who is our hyper dog. Lastly we have a 10 month old puppy who is a wiener dog that I found on the street when she was 2 months. My husband named her pickles.
  • EDD: 1/22/19

Symptoms: This week I finally feel like I’ve made it over the hump! None to really speak of just craving spicy food like crazy and felt baby’s first big movements today

Upcoming appointment: 9/5 for my big anatomy scan (already know it’s a boy)

GTKY: We have 2 x 2 year old rescues. Our first, Maggie we’ve had since she was a puppy. She’s an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Our second, Jojo we got back in May. He’s a Running Walker Hound. They are best friends and my two sweet pups. They’re spoiled rotten but will be fantastic big brother and sister:)
  • mtengl, did your husband happen to name your dog Pickles after Metalocalypse? It's a hilarious show.
