Re: Symptoms week of 8/13

  • So I thought my general malaise during my last first trimester was from PGAL anxiety - like my brain just went in shutdown mode until I had some sign that all would be well.  Now I'm thinking it might just be normal pregnancy fatigue!  I've been SO PRODUCTIVE since our BFP (nothing like the idea of an unplanned 2 under 2 to kick your butt into gear!), but today, I haven't been able to do anything but putz around with my daughter and watch the Teen Mom 2 reunion.  Help!

  • First symptom every time for me (#4) has been gagging while brushing my teeth.
  • This is the second day in a row I’m feeling nausea around 5-6 pm.  I mean, better than 6 am?
  • I'm definitely also nauseated if I don't eat soon enough. I seem to be getting more nausea after 2pm and lasting into the night. If I remember right it was the same last pregnancy too. Also, I've been waking up once a night either starving or having to pee...wish that would have held off

@kangstadt @gollygeeitsamy Plus one for peeing in the night. Reliably between 2-2:1a, and then about 4am.

@sheepshepherdess MH ate my leftover pizza on Sunday. I was LIVID. I love my pizza.

AFM, I am incredibly thirty, gassy in the afternoon to evening, and areolas have massivly grown overnight.
  • I keep waking up to pee then not being able to get back to sleep. Wtf is that even? I’ve never had insomnia before in my entire life.
  • I hear ya. If there’s one thing I’m really good at it’s sleeping in. Now I’m awake before the cats...
  • @jrm_14, I would have been pissseddd!   Did he buy you more pizza?

@professormama, same here, it's been very hard to fall back asleep.  I've been doing some deep breathing exercises and it helps a bit.

  • My boyfriend cooked fish for dinner. I worked second shift and came home to my entire house smelling like fish. I might need to get a hotel room until this clears out.
  • @RainNFyre last night, I cooked a bunch of ribs in a steak marinade and haaaaated the marinade smell. Choked down some meat because the in laws were watching but pretended I wasn’t hungry until MIL pulled out the cookies. Apparently store-baked sugar cookies with sprinkles are my jam.

My symptoms are kinda come and go. I am 5+5 and feeling okay. Certain smells get to me here and there, and sometimes I feel very light nausea, but other than that I feel normal and concerned lol But talking about it I guess I have some symptoms... My SO keeps telling me to stop being paranoid, but Its hard
  • Okay ladies, talk to me about these crazy hormones and how you are dealing with them.  I literally lost it this morning.  The kids were being a bit batty before work/school and it was taking me forever to get out of the house.  My 4 year old DD was "no, no, no" to everything and my nearly 2 year old DD was hanging on me so much I tripped over her like four times.  At one point, I accidentally, knocked her onto her butt and it scared her.  I felt like such a terrible mom.  I literally sat in the parking lot at work and cried for 10 minutes before I could bring myself to go in.  The moods just really started to rear their ugly heads over the past few days.  I normally have difficulty being really patient with my girls, but this morning, I really felt bad about how I reacted to their normal nuttiness.  I know it might be a lost cause, but, any tips?

  • @socks2819 I haven't tried this for pregnancy emotional swings yet, but if I'm feeling overwhelmed/emotional/anxious, 4-7-8 breathing helps me.
    You do four repetitions of:
    - breathe in for a count of 4
    - hold the breath in for a count of 7
    - exhale for a count of 8

  • I often forget about the power of breathing.  Thanks @MRDCle I'll definitely give it a try!

  • @Oksana1987 I’m the same way. I’m 6 weeks today and I feel perfectly fine. I should be happy that I feel fine, but it just makes me anxious. It’s like I can’t breathe easy unless I’m nauseous.
  • I hate that I can’t seem to relax. I feel perfectly fine today aside from some breast pain. Every time I feel fine, my mind jumps to the “what if’s”. I have my first appointment tomorrow and I’m hoping all is well. I’m going to ask how to deal w/ increased anxiety.
  • I'm in the same boat, @Oksana1987 and @sdelg09.  Today I feel fine, and I keep telling myself that unless there's an obvious reason to worry (bleeding or bad cramping), I shouldn't... it's easier said than done.

  • I’m officially nauseous
  • @berky84 I'm experiencing the cramping too! It's like AF cramping and mostly at night. That's been a huge source of anxiety for the last two weeks. I called my doctor, and he just said to increase my water intake and let him know if it's accompanied by any bleeding. He said to drink AT LEAST 2-3 liters a day.
  • I am currently painfully tired. I can hardly keep my eyes open at my desk and it's causing a headache. I've been weaning myself off caffeine the past couple weeks but I may break and buy a diet from the machine.

  • @berky84 aaaahhhh!!!!!! so glad we get to share a bmb again. love you friend.
  • hit post reply too soon...
I'm already nauseous - I didn't get nauseous until around 8 weeks or so with my first pregnancy, so its definitely an adjustment. Its not too bad, just a wave of it here and there. I'm EXHAUSTED - my husband left the house this morning but didn't turn off the snooze on his alarm. I almost killed him.
Definitely bloated and wanting all the foods too. My husband agreed to take me and DS out for pizza tonight so i dont have to cook. Made up for the alarm clock issues from this morning.
  • @chelseay416 - pizza from a certain place was the only thing that sounded good last night. So I made DH go back to the next town over to pick it up. It was equally delicious for lunch today too.

My boobs hurt! Way more than with my first pregnancy... wtf?!?
Ok, I swear my boobs are smaller than normal right now! It's freaking me out that my boobs aren't getting bigger and that they're not sore AT ALL. I know symptoms are different for everyone and, this being my first pregnancy, I have no clue what to expect. I do feel like I'm hungover every morning and I almost upchuck, so that's a good sign, right?

I'm impressed that you had pizza leftover.  My last pregnancy we had pizza Fridays every week and there was never a slice left behind!  Also I have balls to just say pizza Fridays because there were days in the first trimester where I literally ordered pizza for breakfast because everything else made me want to barf.  Oh how I miss living in NYC where you can have a pizza delivered at 9am.  If I really counted I probably ate at least the equivalent of a whole pizza pie to myself every week for three months.  The first trimester is survival mode, so I say eat what sounds good for the time being.

Now I am thinking about pizza and we already planned to have it tomorrow with company so I have to wait  :'(

    Edited because I forgot words.

  • @rennie1108 You're not alone on the pain-free-boobs front!  It was a symptom for me in previous pregnancies, but not now.
  • @piccola1988 last pregnancy we got stopped by a train bringing pizza home and I ate half while we were stopped by the train.  I didn't know if I was embarrassed or proud of myself.

  • @MRDCledefinitely think you should be proud!

  • @Piccola1988 - I ordered a large and it's just me, DH and tiny human who is 2. I also *may* have eaten some cheesy bread and a salad (they have the best dressing). I'm contemplating eating it again for dinner tonight!
  • @mrstmoose you still have more?!  It's nice of you to think that H and I didn't devour large pizzas by ourselves every time, but we totally did  :#

  • sorry I made everyone crave pizza lol
  • I feel invincible right now because I really am not a fan of pizza - I know, it’s crazy. However, DH mentioned chicken Alfredo today and I about lost it. I could have any type of pasta breakfast, lunch or dinner right now!
  • Not a fan of pizza?! Save that for the UO thread!! Haha but for real Alfredo sounds good right now too. DS and I are meeting friends for dinner at a gourmet grilled cheese place tonight so I gotta get myself into that mindset.

  • Sitting at my desk trying to convince myself that these almonds are as satisfying as pizza. It’s not going well
  • We are having pasta tonight, which I’m not at all excited for. Pizza on tap for tomorrow night though. And now that I’ve read this thread, it can’t come soon enough!
  • Pizza sounds so good. I was a lazy mom today and brought home some premade spaghetti and meatballs from the grocery store and heated those up for dinner. My DD absolutely loved it so I shouldn't feel so bad, I just don't like doing that if I can avoid it.

  • @chelseay416. EEEKK! So excited!! I love that we get to go through this together again, LB!

Also... All I've been able to stomach all day has been a sleeve of saltines and ginger ale but I'm thinking a pizza might be the perfect thing for this nauseous mama! Yum.
  • The fatigue was REAL today. So frustrating because Wednesdays are my day off so I hoped to be productive and get caught up some today but I truly had zero energy. Couldn’t even stay awake to watch bachelor on paradise lol
  • Whoever said that they could smell the dirt on their lettuce leaves....thank you. I couldn’t figure out why the smell of my normal salads were making me gag....the dirt thing makes complete sense now. My nose has been off the charts this week. My husband was eating cheesy popcorn in the office at work today and everytime I walked I gagged. And when I go to bootcamp I can smell the gas station down the street
